Looking to lose weight. I lost my weight by walking 3 times a day for l5 min and eating less.
I gained my weight by eating at parties during the summer. So you see why you lose and why you gain. You need to get in the habit of eating less and keeping your self-busy. When I am bored I tend to look for food even though I am not hungry. Today, I managed my hand weights and bike. Could not take a walk as had a downpour and everything got so wet. Love to walk in the morning when it is cool. So what do you say guys lets get out there and come back and talk about it.

Day is muggy and I am lazy but I did my l5 min walk and now off to do my bike before I get too tired and do now want to do it.

Been walking for 30 min a day and my bike for 40. I wish I had someone to go to the gym with.
I hate going alone. Exercise only helps you lose weight if you exercise your mouth. A big problem when food looks at you and it is something you enjoy. My enjoyment is sweets.
Have to keep them out of the house but I love some pastry with a cup of coffee. Tomorrow I took out the pie tops and have a can of apples left from a pie I made. I will use that to make turnovers and where my gs is coming to cut the grass and dh both will eat them. of course, you know I will have one with my coffee.

We got 9 inches and my son got l4. My friend in Londonderry NH got l6. We are waiting to see if we are getting more Mon into Tues. Hope not. We change clocks tonight. Hope spring comes early. Tired of this weather.

I am off to do my bike.

Well, that is good news. I was walking for 3 days and doing 30 min a day but now it is cold again and I will not go out in that. We are getting a Northeaster again and could be mix with rain but winds like before. So sick of the winter and climate change.

I still do my bike for 40 min a day and read at the same time.

I have degenerated disc in the back. I have exercises I do it. One you can do is lean against the wall and go back and forth, It stretches the back so you do not get pain, or slide up and down on the wall. I do mine on the bed, lift one knee and then the other together, then put down and lift my back up and down.

We went grocery shopping Thursday evening. On Friday I was in a lot of pain in my back from that. But I did manage to get in 20 minutes on the treadmill.

I fell years ago on driveway going to work on black ice and had a degenerated hip. Did you have a hip operation or knee? I have arthritis in hip and knee, in fact I am covered with the darn thing. So much fun getting old.

Yeah, a lot of hip stuff with bent knees.
I hyperextended my knee about 10 years ago and my guess is my current problem stems from that. Don't know how the hip stuff happened, though.

I suppose it happens in sports. Mine is from a back injury when I fell years ago and got a degenerated disc. I have been getting spasms and legs hurt and knee so will stop walking for a few days and see if it clears up, otherwise back to therapy. So much fun. LOL

Issues aren't necessarily age focused. I had knee problems starting in about 6th grade when I played basketball.


Twerking has made its way into Zumba? Oh dear. I don't have the coordination or mind connection with my body to twerk or anything of that nature.

Abby, you are kinda young for knee and hip issues. I get them when I walk sometimes. Even when I lie down on one side for a long time at night. Mine is arthritis.

Well, my bike is done so far and 20 min walking. I still have 40 more on walking to do.

I've always loved dancing. I'm extremely ungraceful, but that doesn't stop me!
I was having knee and hip issues, so I took it easy. This one was very ... twerk focused, so I did a lot of my own thing.

ooo Zumba is fun. I enjoyed it back when I lived in Wyoming, even though I weighed 200 lbs. I haven't gone to a class though my gyms the last few years have had the option. The one in Oregon was always so full that there didn't seem like enough room to really dance, so I never went to the class. I should try and catch one now that I'm in California but I usually go to the gym late night, so no classes at those times.


I do a little cardio, but mostly lift weights and my training is focused on powerlifting.

I walk on the treadmill or use my glider (it's kinda like an elliptical). I also have some walking videos that I like to use. I just need to get into a habit of exercising every day.
