What kind of recipes are you planning to put in your cookbook? Any fried ones or are they all good healthy ones?

Speaking of schedules, lists... all in place in preparation for trip now. One week left!

Man if I were to describe my mood today I'd have to call it exuberant! Just have to pass this energy on so that you might picture the energy of the universe filling your heart's center too.

If you can, take a few minutes to sit in silence and watch your breath. With each inhalation, picture that energy of the universe filling your heart center! On each exhale, imagine that you are sending this love-filled energy to the people in your life. Connecting your heart to others in this way could help you deepen your sense of connection with others and fill your interactions with love.

But, man talk about hot! But I'm still going! Up since 5 am. I've first tackled the outside while it's still cooler and swept all nature's debris off the deck swept and scrubbed the back porch watered and weeded all flowerbeds and garden. Tore apart the back entrance/laundry room and scrubbed every nook and cranny Even got down on hands and knees and did the door stoop It gets so built up with dirt and pet hair! Scrubbed down the washer and dryer too sprayed it with scented Lysol Man does that get rid of pet odours!

Now, my errands are ran. Found a few treasures for the wedding. A real nice beaded scarf in browns and besieges. Picked up my bread master his bread. 2 12 grain and 6 whole wheat loaves! Should last him! Took the bottles into the depot fixed 2 work related problems for Yvonne before Monday, came home mended Walter's coveralls. Took material from older pairs that were done for and reinforced the knees and gave him new pockets.

The perspiration is just running off of me today!
Ya think I'm burning off just a few calories today? LOL

Presently sitting in front of the fan trying to cool down before I go at it again

I'm not good at following a schedule, though I've tried a couple of times to plan out editing and writing days. Doesn't help that my work schedule changes from week to week. I was getting thursday's off but that changed. This week I just had Friday off and next day off is Friday but then that week I also have Tuesday off (our week is Thursday-Wednesday). Only thing I've kept somewhat consistent is when I work out but I skipped Friday's jog. I have shorter shifts during the week days, so should try and get stuff done if I don't spend too much time in forums like this one...

Hello all, just stopping by to say hi and see how everyone's doing. Made it through a day trip to Pennsylvania from Virginia without going off my meal plan. I am encouraged as I planned ahead and did it. My usual would be to stop for fast food. This is a big change for me! I worked on my online business today and then picked my son up at the train station. I am promising myself that I will schedule 2 hours for writing on my cookbook. If I don't schedule it it will never happen. So we will see. Does anyone else schedule their writing?

Just curious?

I'm not into running groups. I don't know any of them so starting would be awkward, plus I listen to music when I run. I don't talk. And height affects stride as far as keeping up with people. I'm not quite a running fanatic either. It's good cardio, has some good health benefits, but not necessarily something I would call "my thing." I like lifting a little more. ;-)

I just created cards for my dad and stepdad that I need to get out in the mail. I used pictures I took with my cell phone when I was up in Washington. I will also call them both on the day, but they live in different states than me so won't be seeing either. Probably will just work since 21st is a Sunday and I almost always work on that day.

Hard to believe we are halfway through the year. So much going on and much more to do. Still lots of novel work I want to get done this year. And still working on the weight loss. I'm less than 4 lbs from "overweight" though BMI isn't the best option to follow. I have less than 5 months until stepsister's wedding, so we'll see what dress size I will end up in by around October. Should be nice shopping this time around instead of trying to find something in the plus sizes.

Oh and...

5k went well. it was a little awkward being alone and not knowing anyone. Since it was a fun run a lot of people came in groups or pairs. The running number and glow sticks were hard to put on myself but I managed. And I did jog the whole 5k. So mission accomplished. Hoping to improve the time and ability for August's 5k, which is a bubble color run.

Oh yeah by all means. I think what I'm going to start doing weather permitting of course is during the work week even if I work in a walk around the block during break and at lunch time before having to be sitting at my desk again will help. I know it's not the diet so much as my present lifestyle

I used to walk 3 times around the block, each day for l5 min ea., when my legs could take it.
Walking takes off weight faster. When we went to Disney and walked I ate at buffets and came home with the same weigh I left, and never gained. I have to be content with my bike and can not do the stair climber because of hips, with arthritis. Stay young as long as you can.

I have to drive those distances! LOL They are across the region. Once I reach each community though I park and walk to as many of the businesses as I can before having to drive again.

The weight well, the scale isn't cooperating but the tape measure is! I am now officially into a size 16 jeans and skirts. It's the upper body I’m really fighting with I'm now into an 18 on top. Frustrating though I'd like to be a 16 there too!

I can't believe it, I did not gain from the first communion party, instead lost .1. I will take it even tho it is small. I thought for sure I would gain and even dh lost a .3. Now to continue.
Had my reg breakfast of oatmeal, nuts, raisins an lunch was a salad and some bake beans as gave him franks and beans and I only took two small pieces, after I cut it up of the franks.
I did have the last of the cho chip cookies, which I baked them real small so I could have them. Now, the white cho marshmallows are in the frig and once they are gone I will have no occasion to make them as no more parties. I have them as a treat after my meal. So far they are not putting on weight. You must be at a stand still with your weight as I have not heard you say you have still been loosing. Do you still get a chance to walk, or do you drive to get the ads?

Well I accomplished almost everything I had wanted to today. Some of which wasn't what I intended but it's done LOL. Less to do tomorrow and the time remaining before I leave for Ontario.
Going to make fish and savory wedges for dinner. Put a pot of Tim Horton's coffee on as a treat.
Have a movie booked for 6:30 Kingsmen. Walter's been wanting to see it.

I have been doing great with the weight but today, I blew it. I know why too. Going up we got lost finding the church and if there is anything I hate it is getting lost and the time running out to be at the first communion. Being stressful over it I had a little bit of this and that but at the church they had coffee and sweets, before we even got to the house for lunch buffet. So that is where I mostly blue it. Then there was the cake at the house. So tomorrow is my downfall and I get up again and start fresh. No more parties from here to Nov so hopefully I will be on the straight track again. I constantly do my exercise everyday so that should help some.

Do you ever roll out of bed in the morning, sleepily pour yourself some coffee, and wish you could just crawl back under the covers and sleep away your responsibilities? We’ve all been there at some point, dreaming about a day when we could feel motivated and excited about our lives.

While life isn’t always smooth-sailing, these tips can help you stay encouraged on those days when you just wish life could take a backseat for a while.
10 Tips For Morning Motivation

1. Remember your “why.”

When you wake up in the morning, remind yourself why you will carry out your day in the way you have planned. It helps to keep that mental image in our heads of why we do certain things, so that we don’t operate on autopilot and forget our ultimate reasoning for going to work, school, or whatever we have going on. With that said, if you don’t feel inspired or fulfilled by what takes up the majority of your life, you should definitely think about leaving your current job or career path behind in favor of one that will truly make your heart feel full and happy.

2. Meditate when you first wake up.

As you awaken, you haven’t yet encountered all of the daily stressors and chaos that inevitably cross our paths in daily life. Mother Earth is still waking from her slumber as well, and the world is much quieter than at any other time of the day. Use this time to go to a peaceful spot in your home or in your backyard, and just allow yourself to relax and balance your energies. This will help set the stage for a positive, productive, and motivating day, and will assist you in dealing with any stress you encounter.

3. Exercise before you begin your day.

Morning exercise revs up your metabolism and wakes up your entire body, getting you pumped up for your work or school day. Many scientists agree that working out first thing in the morning on an empty stomach promotes weight loss and prevents weight gain as well, but it might suit some people better to eat a small breakfast before beginning their workout routine. Follow whatever method works for you, just remember to engage in an activity you enjoy, and get your blood pumping!

4. Get a good night’s rest.

Of course, getting a poor sleep will just make you feel like slipping back under your covers, not meeting life head-on. You can’t function properly without getting a restful sleep, so make sure you go to bed at a decent hour and get rid of any distractions in your room. Lights from electronics can disrupt your circadian rhythm and keep you awake for longer hours, so make sure to turn off all your devices before nightfall.

This might seem difficult in practice, but just try it out tonight before bed and see how much better you feel when you wake up the next morning. Instead of using electronics for entertainment, try reading a book, playing a board game with family, or doing arts and crafts. Facebook, emails, tweets, and texts can always wait until morning when you have had a chance to rest your mind and body.

5. Eat a healthy, balanced breakfast.

When you wake up each morning, make sure you have a nutritious breakfast of something like a fruity smoothie, oatmeal, whole fruits, or maybe a green juice. Having the essential vitamins and minerals in your bloodstream will give you energy to tackle everything in your day, and will help keep your blood sugar under control.

Many people either skip breakfast, or eat sugary, nutrient-lacking foods that spike their insulin, leaving them feeling lethargic and unmotivated to do much of anything. Go for whole, fresh, ripe fruits and veggies or starches to give your body the energy it craves. J

6. Start off your day with a glass of lemon water.

Lemon water offers a slew of benefits, from fighting off colds to boosting the immune system to promoting weight loss, so pour yourself a nice, cold glass in the morning with a couple slices of lemon added in. Not only will the tart, zesty flavor from the lemon wake you up, but the vitamins from the citrus fruit will invigorate you and get you excited for your day.

7. Have a list of small, achievable goals to look at each morning.

This goes back to the first point about remembering your why; you need to have your most important goals written out to refer back to often, so you can have a constant reminder of what you wish to accomplish in this crazy game of life. We often get sidetracked with all the distractions we face, which pushes our original motivations and aspirations to the back burner. Make sure you have a list somewhere in your room that you can consult often about your goals, and try to work toward them in some way each day.

8. Change up your routine.

Sometimes, we can feel stuck in a rut when we do the same things day in and day out. Take a different route to work, eat something unordinary for lunch, or go on a nature retreat to somewhere you’ve never been before. Adding variety into your life will help keep your motivation up; this way, you won’t risk burning out or falling into a state of complacency.

9. Work smarter, not harder.

Long work hours don’t do a body or mind good; if you can, try to get more work done in less time so that you have a portion of your day to allot to other activities, like working out, meeting up with friends, relaxing in nature, and just recharging. In Japan, people actually die from overworking; the term they use there for it is karoshi. This affects many people there, so obviously working to the point of mental and physical exhaustion does not have a positive outcome. Make sure you balance your work with your life for optimal health and happiness.

10. Say a few mantras that will get you in a positive mindset.

When you first wake up, say a favorite motivational quote of yours either aloud or in your head; this helps to start your day off positively, and will inspire you if you wake up feeling discouraged.

It's been a week let me tell ya!
I've been out on the road for most of it delivering this year's Community and Tourist Magazine; 12, 14 hour days.
So I'm very tired at the end of the day. Yesterday was the first day I was back in office and it too was busy! So needless to say I've had very little personal time!

The weight well, the scale isn't cooperating but the tape measure is! I am now officially into a size 16 jeans and skirts. It's the upper body I’m really fighting with I'm now into an 18 on top. Frustrating though I'd like to be a 16 there too!

OK believe it or not but this olé girl didn't climb out of bed until 7am today! Oh don't fret I was up at my usual 5am looking after the animals Once I had them settled however, i crawled back beneath the blankets think hey this is Saturday and yes I have my huge cleaning planned but it's not going anywhere so neither am I for a bit!

Since 7 however, I've had my breakfast; a good hot steaming bowl of oatmeal! Then my day really began and I've pitched and tossed scrubbed, uncluttered and rearranged my kitchen, put a load of dishes through the dish washer and have it sanitizing now. The stove got a scrubbing inside and out the old fashioned way rather than using the self cleaning because it wasn't warranted
Last thing needs doing is the refrigerator. Shouldn't take but 20 minute. Olé Mother Hubbard's cupboards are bare LOL Monday brings grocery shopping again.

The back entrance gets it next and the laundry is my next tackle job.

The weather is cooperating to! It's cool with periodically sunny breaks. So the outdoor yard work is postponed momentarily anyway.

Walter smart dude us in his man-cave playing Halo until I'm done! LOL

Tonight. emoticon

As for things runners say, I have no idea. I barely jog. lol I'm taking it easy this morning, dishes and such, then getting ready. I need to paint my nails and add some neon stickers that i found. Then get all my neon running clothes on. It's going to be different but hopefully very fun. Tonight I will be jogging in the city with a bunch of people, neon and we get glow sticks.

Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Elf, today Friday? Or next week Friday? (Okay, I see you posted your thing Wednesday, so I'm guessing today.) Do runners have a thing they say? Like Actors say break a leg. ... which I would say to you, but that could be dangerous. Let us know how you did!

Like you say never know when or where you will find him.

Cats are nice. I had 3 in my lifetime. Takes time to get settled when working. An up grade means more money. Congratulations.

Dh decided to change scales. Said the one we were using was not giving him the correct weight and had to go on more than once as it kept changing. I had no problem, except once. Well now this one adds two lbs. more. Hate it. So have to work harder.

We'll see. I haven't been asked on a date, ever. So, not something I rely on happening but never know what the future will hold.

Things are going pretty well. I'm settled in for the most part except the kitchen cause we have too much stuff and not enough space there. Still have stuff to do in living room once coworker moves out a few things, but it's not too bad. Cat likes my couch, well he likes my desk chair but if I'm in it he will sleep on the couch nearby. Nice to have cats again. The boy cat is very friendly and in morning wants attention, so he gets on my lap almost every morning for attention. The two girl cats are more shy but they let me pet them now. Should warm up to me over time.

Work is the usual busy. I might be learning pharmacy and will need to study for the tech certification test, which means I'm finally making progress in getting somewhere beyond cashiering.

My 5k run is on Friday. Hard to believe the first on is already here. I have my neon clothes ready. It's going to be fun.

Nightshade you just go too much on your mind. You need to relax a bit. Working on your ms should be fun and not pressure. That comes when you get your book published and have to promote it. Mine is now out to 4 publishers and if I get a yes from one, I know I will probably have a rewrite as they always change stuff. Not what I am looking forward to. I remember my last book, had to take out a lot of stuff I wanted. And being a first book, I hated to lose all that writing. It was like my baby. Then the signing at library, cable talk shows, then my series of it on cable/radio where I took the main character. It ran for l2 weeks.

Elf a guy might just come into the store and start talking to you and end up asking you for a date. It can happen. As for the grocery store, let me tell you a story. I was shopping with my husband and he was in another else. I could not reach a can on the top shelf so asked the guy near me if he could get it for me. He did then he asked me if I was single and I told him I was married. See, I could have had a date with him. Like I said, you never know when or where you will meet your mate.

Well, today off to the dollar store for some aluminum pans, brushes for bottles or cups, pads for dishes, floss, etc. Next week need to get to the shoe store for a pair when something comes up special. My old ones are worn.

*waves.* Hello. Popping in. Sorry I have not said much lately. I have kind of forgotten about a ton of things lately. After I spend the day with my babies and tuck them in I head straight to the computer to work on my manuscripts and hang with my husband. Tend to forget about other things LOL.

The trouble with long distance is you have to be able to work towards ending the distance at some point or else it's hard to maintain. But it's hard to meet people in person too cause I just go to the gym, grocery store and work. One day, we'll see what happens.

Right now I am focused on work, getting settled in new apartment and working out. emoticon

They say long distance romances don't usually work. There are plenty of fish in the sea and when you are not looking one will pop up who is the right one for you and you will know it.

That ended over a year ago because we just never were able to spend time together in person. He has called a couple times or messaged on Skype once or twice but don't hear from him much.

All done. Just have the unpacking and organizing of the new place to do, which will probably take a few weeks as it's my stuff plus roommates that all has to fit in this apartment. Glad the move is over. Sad to see my mom go, as she came to help me.

Now to get back to my regular schedule, jog, lit, count calories and keep working towards my goals.

Just finished changing beds, washing clothes, sheets, towels, and my exercise. I am tired.
Did not have to cook as had some chicken left over so microwaved it and had veggies. Easy out.

My gks get out one the l9, other 23.

I don't know what kind of a job you could get unless you go and bag or cashier in a grocery store. But if you have to take care of your mother how can you do anything outside of the home? I know they have a job stuffing envelopes but doesn't pay much. Now, if you could write you could write for the paper.

Just went into a Harlequin site and Norton came up and told me it was a false site and blocked it. So keep your eyes open. This is the second site Norton blocked. The second was a Barnes and Nobel one. So hackers are tracking writers searching for publishers.

Dolly was so good to see you today. Remember, all this will pass. Take one day at a time. Tomorrow, maybe better. Do you know the St. Anthony prayer? You can get it on the net.
Ask him for help with your problems. Works for me, but don't forget God either. He is always there for you too even tho , at times, it may not seem like it.

Oh MAINLADY I'm so excited for you! Walt and I are in the middle of renovations as well. We moved to Coronation in 2000 rented a cute little 1000sq foot house and a year later we set up the rent to own. made the last payment 2 years ago! Over time we have made changes but now we are into the final changes and touch ups We're replacing the living room and kitchen floors. Sanding down the kitchen cupboards and re staining them and changing out the handles.
The living room is not only getting a new floor but an entire face lift base boards trim walls painted Going a silver blue on walls and then the accents are dark navy.
Walter is going to do the floors while I'm in Ontario visiting my aging parents and attending my niece's wedding in July!

Today though we both played hookie from work to go into the city for a denturists appointment. Three years ago he had all his teeth pulled and dentures made but they never ever fit right no matter what we had them try and fix. 3000 down the toilet Thank goodness for insurance paying 80% and his boss paid the balance and never took a dime in repayment!
So now the denturist we have is totally competent knows what he's doing with the latest software techniques!
You should see what he's getting now! I am so excited for him! He's been so patient in waiting for the right time and opportunity and now JACKPOT! Not only that it's already prepaid for and we start small payments over time to pay them back! What company does that! We can pay the set amount each month ad to it as we are able or pay it off as we are able!
And the moulds are not that old plastic resign either they have a rubber adjustable applicable to mould over top the gums and hold much better in place. The teeth are not the standard old plastic looking teeth either! They have teeth now that are shaped exactly like real teeth.
This new software duplicates your jaw lines and hinges exactly so that the dentures are fit exactly to them!
So this is totally awesome See why I'm so excited?!
So now when i need changes done to mine as age creeps on believe me I'll be going to Mike Galye in Red Deer!
