I joined a gym that is only $20 a month so now I can learn to run on a treadmill during the winter. Its to dangerous to run on dirt roads in the snow.

My mom wanted to try a gym and said she needed someone to go with her so I was elected.

WTG Ladyhawkes!!

I can now run 3 miles straight in 49 minutes. I have been slacking on my S.T. and I am going to make it my focus this week to get back on track with it.

I started Spark in March, six months later I am still working at releasing excess weight. Not loosing, but not gaining either. Had I not started Spark, I may have gained back more than 17 lbs. had had lost already.

The journey is what it is, I can't fail if I don't quit.

Just wanted to stop in and say hi! I have been away as a lot of you know, I lost my daddy on the 26th of May. It has been the hardest thing I have ever had to deal with. But, by the grace of God I am doing ok.
Everyone is doing so great! Wow! All the pounds lost! How amazing is that! Hugs to you all, and a great big thank you for all your support and prayers. DJ

Hi everyone, sorry about being MIA recently.I have decided to go back to school for my BS for a double major in Accounting and Information Systems. So naturally I have been scrambling around for my transcripts, booster shots, and scholarships to pay for it. It's been an adventure to say the least. I hope everyone is doing well. And I will do better with my exercising as it is a new week so I have a brand new start.

Good afternoon everyone!! I hope the weekend has gone great. emoticon . I am glad I can come on here today. Mother's day is always a little rough for me. I was 15 when I gave birth to my daughter. She was adopted by some wonderful people and we have an open adoption. I have never regretted my decision, but it has very much stuck me in a no man's land on this particular day. emoticon . I am a mom, yet I am not.God love her, she is turning 15 this year, and all I want to do is tell her to slow down I miss enough of her growing as it is. She's a good kid though. Sorry for the melodramatic post. I will be better tomorrow.

Thank you! I think so too! I am drinking 8 glasses of water a day, taking in 1200 to 1500 calories, and walking 30 min daily in order to lose about 1 to 2 pounds per week. So hopefully I will make up for it in the next week.

Good Sunday Morning to all! I am enjoying my healthy lifestyle now. I have gradually lost weight consistently, but today I had a pound and half increase in one day. I ate out yesterday so I guess I got a little more hidden sodium in my food. I made good choices, but you never know what may be lurking in food that other people make for you. I did use splenda in my unsweetened tea even though I had given up splenda and I'm wondering if that made the difference. I guess I'll never know. I'm just going to keep on eating healthy and hope that it comes back off in the next few days.

I strive to be kind, understanding, and tolerant of all.

I agree with ITSUP2ME1, that sounds like a great walk, BOBBIEED!

As for me, I can't say I was a bit discouraged having gained almost a pound despite eating right all week and working out three times... but I'm still here and won't let it throw me off!

Pippa, You can get those pitchers at Wal-mart, or Target.... really any dept. store has them pretty reasonable... you will love it! I lived in the country all my life and was use to good old well water, moved to town and ew! nasty so the britta has really helped me...

Well, I'm back. I fell off the wagon for two weeks or so and now I'm back to logging everything in. I started my wt loss journey Jan 1st, and joined SP just a month ago, so I think that's not to bad... I haven't weighed myself to see how bad I truly was. I think I will just wait until my WI day on Friday. :)

Have a great Monday everyone!

I agree that the Brita pitcher works well. Takes most of the taste out - you get a clean water taste. I keep mine in the frig so that it is always nice and cold. emoticon

I keep my water in a travel mug with ice. It goes everywhere with me. In the past drinking enough water has been hard, but this time with my mug it seems almost effortless.

wohoo! way to go itsabouttime9. Good for you taking time for you.... especially taking care of your elderly momma. That is very stressful and tiring. I know you wouldn't change a thing, but I am tickled that you took time for you....

Stumbling block: I care for my elderly mom, and sometimes here care takes HOURS more than I anticipate, thus eliminating my time for ME. So instead of painting my bathroom today (what was on the schedule) I walked with a friend. Scheduling! That's my block. Putting me first is new behavior.

I use a Brita filter too. It's not the taste that bothers me, it's the fact that cold water in cold weather chills me to the bone.
I'll try squeezing some fresh lemon or lime juice into the occasional glass of hot water.

I don't like herb tea but I adore apple tea which unfortunately, being full of sugar, now is off-limits.

My tap water tasted pretty bad. I bought a Brita filter pitcher. Now I love drinking my water. 8 or more cups is no problem.

The first step in getting somewhere is by deciding not to stay where you're at.

I had to rent a system from sparklet because I couldn't stand the taste of tap water! But I think herb tea also counts towards water drinking!

Try using a water filter like a Brita. That should fix any taste issues. emoticon
