I wanted to post back and say that I've been feeling so much better since starting the vitamins. I also started taking a vegan DHA (omega 3) no fish supplement (the DHA comes from Algae).

I was able to give blood last month - it's probably been two times of trying since I could. I have so much more energy than I did and that foggy feeling has gone away.

I bought a vegan supplement from Rainbow light. It has a B complex, but only 2mg's of iron (11%) I still really have to watch to make sure I get enough extra iron. I eventually want to get a vitamin that has more iron in it.

Iron supplements help, too. I know that *ideally* we want to get our vitamins from good, clean food...but I know I'm not always on the ball because of the way life is. If you pop a 60 mg Iron supplement in the morning, you're always safe. Doing this took my iron supplies from near anemic to better than the average meat eater!

I definately agree that you want to make sure you keep up your iron intake. I've always been low on iron even before becoming vegetarian or vegan.

Yes, low iron levels will definitely make you feel exhausted! Make sure you are getting enough iron-rich foods in your diet! here is a website with some information pertaining to iron sources in a vegan diet, and includes a top 12 list of plant-based iron sources! Enjoy!

I read somewhere that if you are low on iron it can make you tired...

I have been eating this way for about 30plus days. I was feeling great the first couple of weeks, but the last week I have been really tired and run down.I think I am probably lacking in something but not sure what.

Are you just starting the book or have you been eating this way for awhile?

I have been noticing the last week or so I have been very tired when waking up and it takes me a good part of the day to find my energy then it is late afternoon and I am tired again.
Is there a way to know if I am not getting enough of something that is making me tired? I don't want the expense of going to the doctor and having blood work drawn, I thought maybe there was another way to tell. Any suggestions on what I might be able to do to get my energy level back up to what I would consider normal?
