Geia!
In response to Andegonaki's comment on fast food... I also heard statistics that are quite sad... Greece (& Spain) is seeing an increase in obesity, but especially in young boys (think they said 11-15 or to 18 age group).

Fast food sadly for many of them has replaced the good old fashioned greek diet-home made food with plenty fruits & vegetables. Ironic because the Mediterranean diet has drawn attention of the world, yet fast food is growing in popularity here.

I agree with you Sunny. Good food is easier to prepare at home and
I find that fast food is really a no no when it comes to healthy eating.
Eating their healthy choices is not that tasty or healthy either.
I have looked at the 17 day and am going to modify it to suit my pocket.
I will let you know how it pans out. Hope you have a great week. emoticon

Interesting statistics, Antigonaki, thanks for sharing. But I find it hard to believe that it's cheaper to eat at Goody's than to cook something at home, unless perhaps one is a single person who ends up throwing out food because they bought/cooked too much. Restaurants have to pay rent, staff, overheads and make a profit, so home-cooked food is cheaper than eating something comparable out, even when one factors in the cost of electricity or gas to cook it. If we follow the Mediterranean Diet model, with at least two meatless days a week (some people still observe the nisteia every Wednesday and Friday), and red meat only once a week maximum, and are careful to look for bargains and choose produce that is in season, I don't think fast food can be cheaper.
Perhaps your relative is comfort-eating to assuage their anxiety because of the crisis?

Going for a swim is a better option, but how many people will heed that.
Let's hope the situation improves in Greece...

This is a sad fact, and a result of our floundering economy. My brother in law has gained 35 kilos in the past year alone because it is cheaper for him to eat at Goody's or whatever other fast food chains exist in Greece than at someplace nice or even at home.

PUT THE DRAKOULINIA DOWN AND GO FOR A SWIM, RE FILE!
