I don't go by this because for me, my heart rate is limited by beta blockers. So even when I am out of breath and struggling, my heart rate doesn't reflect that due to the limitations. What I do instead is be sure to turn on the exercise I'm doing on the watch itself so that I know.

Not exactly. I copied this from the web --

To get an Active Zone Minute you need to elevate your heart rate into the fat burn zone. One minute gets you one minute towards your goal. However, if you get it higher than that, into Cardio or Peak heart rate zones, you get double points. That means for every one minute of higher heart rate activity, youíll add two minutes towards your goal.

----------

So, if you are walking or doing exercises that get you to the fat burn zone (I am not sure if this varies by person, but my fat burn zone is a heart rate of 101-115. If I go higher than 115, it can be cardio (116-133) or Peak (134 +) each minute of exercise counts as two zone minutes.

For example, I took a walk today -- 50 minutes, and that counted as 50 minutes since I was in the fat burn zone the whole time.

On the other hand, I did an exercise DVD for 30 minutes, but I got 52 zone minutes since 22 of those minutes were in the cardio zone (counted as 44 zone minutes) and 8 were in the fat burn zone.

Hope this helps. You can find more information on your phone app if you touch the zone minutes icon.

Hi! Once again, I have a question about something on my Fitbit app. Where it says "Zone minutes" Is that my total number of minutes in actual exercise for the day?
