My Charge HR actually helped find an irregular heart beat for me. Now I'm not going to claim it has fantastic accuracy, I know it doesn't catch all my steps or floors climbed, but it can be a valuable tool. Being as they're using it as an incentive program and isn't a necessity for coverage, I don't see anything wrong with that.

I would not trust any fitness tracker to monitor my heart rate to determine my health status(although I have a fitbit blaze with a HR monitor). They are NOT medical devices although some people want to use them as such. The company I worked for provided discounts for employees to purchase fitness trackers, health club/gym memberships, and other health and wellness activities but not health insurance.

Nevertheless, I read this article this morning concerning life insurance and fitness trackers.

I remember years ago the health insurance companies decided it would be a good idea to link to Fitbit and give people a discount if they go at least 10,000 steps a day. They found so many people finding ways to make their teacher say they were getting 10,000 steps you could write a book, so they quit.

I do have a tracker with HR. I can tell you right now it isn't right a good bit of the time and if I put it on wrong, even a little bit, the HR doesn't work. If it slips on my arm and gets too close to my wrist while I sleep the sleep pattern changes. and not by a little. I see way too may problems with relying on them.

My daughter says the ER at the hospital where she works laughs about them. How can I have an irregular heart rate, Fitbit didn't tell me that

Everybody tells me that they would love to knit, but they don't have time. I look at people's lives and I can see opportunity and time for knitting all over the place. The time spent riding the bus each day? That's a pair of socks over a month. Waiting in line? Mittens. Watching TV? Buckets of wasted time that could be an exquisite lace shawl. ~Stephanie Pearl-McPhee, At Knit's End: Meditations for Women Who Knit Too Much A true friend reaches for your hand but touches your hea
