Don't lose your motivation. There are other ways to measure your progress. Also, you have one more day before weigh in day, so you have a chance to workout one last time.

I would cut carbs rather than protein if I were you. Protein actually helps you lose weight, as does the right type of fat.

Thanks for the dinner time tips.
I did not loose any lb this week but at least I feel smaller in certain parts of my body. It is not surprising as my metabolism is slow due to medical reasons but very disappointing. I think I should do something different this week and I will try to have smaller portion and omit protein for dinner.

When I am forced to eat late, I go with soup in the cold weather, and smoothies in the hot weather. That doesn't seem to have the weight gain effect that a full meal does. I also drink a lot of tea and water later in the evening.

The best option for now is to have big salad and some lean protein and yogurt (total of about 300-400cal)and to be sure to have larger snack 1-2h prior to it to help keep hunger under control and avoid over eating. I did it for 3 days and it seems to be the best option so far; I am still chocking a bit on my saliva when I look at my husband's plate but I manage better now. Also, I need to learn how to manage my dinner time for the rest of our life (or current career choices), so I think it is OK; to be absent at the dinner table is not a good option in my case.

Thanks for the ideas DX, I am going to start taking a sandwich with me. I am there from 3:30 - 9 and get a 30 minute break at 6:30 when I am between clients. I think I'll pack a healthy sandwich and then do something light when I get home. I usually cook dinner before I leave for my hubby to eat when he gets in. :)

SASBAMA, I can understand the struggles you may have with late dinners. The days I work during the day my husband and I come back home at 8pm, so by the time we wash hands and sit down at the table it is almost 9pm. At that point my options are to leave him alone or sit at the table and watch him eat( my will power only last 10 min). I have no idea what to do; we use our dinner time to talk, otherwise there is no other time to do it. Today he ate alone.

Hi Sasbama. Have you tried packing a lunch or something? Do you get breaks?

My problem is that 3xperweek I don't get off work until 9pm. I work straight from 4 - 9 so I don't get time to eat supper (I am a gymnastics/cheer coach) On those days I try to eat a larger lunch and the eat a smaller dinner around 9:30pm. I have found that to be the best I can do :(

I agree with both of you there. Planning does make a big difference. Starting on Monday, I am going to bring a healthy lunch to school emoticon
I also restocked the fridge yesterday with veggies and healthy dinner choices. I am doing better with eating less junk than I did over the holidays.

I find that drinking a nice Tazo Chai tea with a bit of milk cuts my sweet cravings. emoticon

I find that if I have food that is good for me (veggies and lean protein) and ready to eat (pre-made)available to me at all times I will stay on track; if not I will come back home late at night or lazy to cook and will eat whatever is available (read "food that made me fat in the first place")So, planning goes a long way for me. I also try to have veggies ready to eat in the container, so I can just add dressing and eat it or grab it in the morning to take to work.

I notice that too. Also, I need to lay off the beer. It is killing my progress.

Don't eat past 9pm--I find that I gain weight if I do, even if I stay up very late. emoticon
