Athensgirl, we're all so different in what we can and can not tolerate to eat. The best way is to keep a food diarly. List what you eat and how it affects you. I know it's a lot of trouble, but it's something we've all had to go through. I can tolerate most foods now with the exception of beef and hot spicy foods...which I love! When I went into remission, the doctor had me start adding back foods I had eliminated. Much as I hated this method of finding out, I found a lot of the foods no longer hurt me. Wouldn't it be nice if someone could sit us down and say "you can eat this; don't eat that." But, there just is no one diet that works for everyone.

Brown rice doesn't upset my system, but it definitely doesn't digest. So if you get the undigested food thing there might not be much point in eating it lol!

A good guide might be if high in fibre things upset you?

I have not had any trouble with any rice I tried, white, brown, or wild.

I was advised by my Dr to eat Basmati rice instead of the brown rice. I do well on the Texmati which is a Texas grown version of Basmati.

I have ulcerative colitis, and I have stopped eating brown rice. I've been having a hard time getting my system stabilized, so I've avoided anything remotely considered controversial, and brown rice is one I've seen on lists of foods to avoid.

I feel funny asking, but was wondering how brown rice affects all of you? Does it seem to bother your Crohns, not bother you? I'm debating on if I should eat it or not.
