After I bought it, I was praying, "please don't suck; please don't suck", because I want him to do well. I've seen cases where actors I've liked have done albums that are just awful, and I feel really bad for them. I didn't want this to be like those.

And it doesn't suck. I've only listened to it once so far, but it's definitely not a pop album, and I'd be surprised if I heard any of the songs on the radio - not because they aren't good, but they don't have the catchy choruses or anything.

I like his songs on Glee, but he doesn't really have a strong enough voice to carry a song on is own without some help in the studio - at least with the songs on his album. I could tell that some enhancements were made, but all in all, I think it's okay.

He wrote all of the songs (and co-wrote one, I think), and I'm not quite sure I understand what he's talking about most of the time, but he's definitely been thinking some things and really put some work into it. He has the lyrics to all but one song printed in the CD, and I gotta tell you... there are a lot of words... like, A LOT. I know that sounds strange, but my sister was like, "Maybe they didn't print the words to the last song, because they ran out of space." emoticon

There's one song that's written from the chimney sweep's point of view from "Mary Poppins" - you know, the guy played by Dick Van Dyke whose name I can't really remember right now. I found it a little sad, and I keep thinking about it. So I guess he's making me think about some things too.

I know this isn't much of a review, but I'm sure I'll have more of an opinion when I get a chance to listen to it a few more times.

I look forward to hearing what others think about it.

I haven't heard it yet, but there's no doubt he can sing.

"...there's some good in this world, Mr. Frodo, and it's worth fighting for."

"We're children of a fighting race that never yet has known disgrace." (The Soldiers' Song, Irish national anthem)

"Every day above ground is a good day." (Chef Justin Kennedy of New Orleans, on Chopped)

I had seen on amazon that he had a solo album but not knowing what type of music he sings I was a tad bit apprehensive. Let us know what you think of it, please.

I love his voice on the show but I have to admit, I don't know what type of songs he sings. What kind of music is it? What do YOU think of it?

I happened to see it at the B&N, so I picked it up - I figured I'd support him. I'm wondering what people have heard it think about it.
