I'm sorry your DH passed, but be thankful you had a wonderful love. So many people never have that in a life time. emoticon

My son, Nathan, had clean Cat Scans in August, so he goes back again in February. He didn't get into Medical School, & we know it was because of his Testicular Cancer so he plans to apply again in 2 years, as he is only 26 now. He figures after 3 yrs they should take him. The Navy won't take him in the Officer's program until five years. He's going to Camp Blue Bird this month.

It is so impossible for me to really get my head around this kind of loss. We all know our loved ones would want us to move forward and live our own healthiest, best life.

May God support all of us. It is so good to have a place to come and reach out to others for support during the cancer battle, win or lose. For those of us who battled and made new friends in the process it is a great place to reach out to one another in continued support so that we don't sink in depression over our loss. What a great team.

God be with all of you as you deal with the loss and try to get back on track. My mother died in 87 and I still miss her and wish she could walk through the door so we could talk and I still cry at times when I'm reminiscing and telling someone about her. Tears are a way to help heal the pain of the moment so I don't worry about it and let them flow. Tears not only heal but it connects us with the special love we have with those who go before us. We all heal at different rates and in different ways so don't try to follow someone else's pattern, do what is right for you. I'll keep all of you in prayer.

emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon to you Both!!

I just recently lost my Mom (not due to cancer, though) and I'm still dealing with the loss of my sister and Dad (both due to cancer). Dealing with loss is soooo HARD!! It is great that you are ready to take care of yourselves now. emoticon

Welcome back. My husband passed away in April from C-diff. He had ACL but was in remission. At this point it seems to be getting harder instead of easier. I have not had much time as it seems I have had so much to take care of because he had been sick so long that so much needed repair. Before the cancer he had heart problems, etc. He was just not able to do everything around here he used to do and it just all started falling apart at once.

It is also at that point when you realize he isn't just away and he won't be coming back. The finality of it sinks in.

Anyway, I am just now getting started taking care of myself some. I really need to and it is good to have someone who is about at the same place.

We will encourage one another.

I'm back after a year off. Last August my wonderful husband's cancer came back. It showed up as 7 mets in his brain. He passed on February 23rd and I miss him every day. It gets easier every day but I miss him. I was home taking care of him for 7 months. Now I need to take care of me and get this weight off.
