emoticon The best thing I can say is to read "The BECK Diet Solution" by Judith Beck, PhD and to join our BECK DIET Team here at Sparks. It is a very active team and has great daily support.
Dr. Beck's father is the famous psychologist, Aaron Beck, M.D. who developed Cognitive Therapy in the 1960's for people with depression. She uses his technique for weight loss and health. I got a copy of the book at the library.

Okay, so I need some help. I'm starting my own anti-cancer plan, and I need some people who are willing to back me up along the way.

My Mum passed away two weeks ago, after failing to beat a particularly aggressive form of liver cancer, which formed as a result of the breast cancer she had 8 years ago. My way of dealing with everything I'm thinking and feeling at the moment is by focusing on something else and, for me, that 'something else' is arming myself against this horrible disease. I know that it's not possible to give myself 100% protection - no one has control over it like that - but I want to do as much as I possibly can to prevent it.

I've done a lot of research into the ways that diet and lifestyle relate to cancer, and I'm in the process of forming my own plan to fit as much I can in. I'm totally committed to doing as much as I can, but I know there are going to be days when I don't want to do my exercise, or I'm craving something, and I'd really love someone, or a couple of people who can push me to following through with my plan. If there's anyone who's willing to give me a hand, then please let me know :) thank you!
