Right now, not as much as I'd like. I had to stop going to my gym because I just can't afford it. It's a boxing gym so I was training old-school boxing style and then doing weights.

I run when the weather is nice, but coming into spring all we've had to rain, rain and more rain here in Ohio. I live and run along the river (it's the safest place to run in my city) so the rain is obliterating my running course. My goal is to run every chance I get this year. I did that the summer before last and my conditioning was stellar. This season I feel like I really struggle endurance-wise. :(

So, right now it's derby 3x's a week and Jillian's Shred DVD. It's not thrilling but it's what I'm working with.

I'm a barrel racer moonlighting as a derby girl... We are in the process of getting a local league started and going. Slow, but sure!
As for working out OFF skates, I ride my horses a lot. I condition and train 6 days a week. 4 miles at least 4 times a week per horse, plus arena time and training. I compete 2-3 weekends a month in the short summer months here in Montana.
I need to start hitting the weights and doing more cardio for myself, even though the horses work me pretty well.
I'm really curious to hear what other girls are doing to get themselves in derby shape. Its something I can put into motion, as well as something that I can share with my aspiring roller girls here!

I try and do running/biking/stair-climbing 3x a week, and then weight lifting 2x. I did not stretch at all for awhile and am suffering a stretched IT band now, so am trying to incorporate 20 minutes of yoga everyday..

What do you do to work out besides derby? I believe cross training is very important to becoming a better skater and would love to hear what everyone does.
