PJ - I truly do understand as my mind is swirling some days! Hopefully, LG will set up a group in FB although most of us are on the RV team so we can still keep in touch.

Good Morning
It is a very dark rainy day. In fact, our bedroom was so dark, we slept in until 9am! Neither of us could believe the time. I got 8.46 hrs sleep so I’m feeling good today.

My neck x-rays show I have abundant amount of bone Spurs in my neck. My dr is referring me to a specialist to see if I can avoid surgery. I am sure PT is in my near future!

Due to the rain. I did a WATP for a mile walk this morning. This afternoon I have a date with Richard Simmons to a dance party (Sweatin to the Oldies).

Hi, Seesters!

Re remaining in homes as we age: I think of my maternal grandmother a lot. She became a widow at only 59. [My grandfather passed from diabetes complications at age 63 in the early 70s.] After his passing, she sold the hobby farm that they had [after years of dairy farming out in the country] and bought the most gorgeous three story house with a wonderful porch in town. She lived there for a lot of years, and when that wasn't possible anymore, she went into a duplex which had maintenance, and only in her late 80s/early 90s was in a care center.

Our house is only one story and easy access to most services, so I hope we can remain here. I believe our doors/hallway are wide enough to accomodate a wheel chair. I wish Joe hadn't turned down the offer after his hospitalization last summer to have an occupational therapist come and evaluate home safety issues. I don't have any scatter rugs, etc, but am always concerned there might be something to help both of us as we age.

My youngest sister, who drives Amish, sent me pics of quilts at some event that she took some Amish ladies to this morning. What a nice way to begin the day emoticon

We have plans for DD and SIL to come over tomorrow afternoon late for an easy summer dinner. It will be hot and humid, so we aren't planning on outside cooking.

Our small travel trailer is up for sale, and now Joe has decided we aren't going to replace it. That's today. LOL He's now come up with a plan to get him to fishing in our area without too much trouble and we will see how that works. [It's something I suggested some time back, but we will keep that between us. emoticon ]

Have a good day. Hello to all.

Hi Seesters. I'm all for FB. It is easy to use and we are a small group. I'm friends with most of you anyway. I could/should be friends with the rest. I'm an antisocial person for sure.

Had sewing camp today with the 10 year old boys. It was interesting. One did very well and the other who has ADHD struggled. I made it a good experience and he will have a great experience. Two more days of sewing camp and I'm taking a day off. I need to get a blanket ready for crocheting on the edge per DS's request. It is Lightning's birthday and the 4th will be celebrated locally. Family celebration will probably be on Monday the 5th.

Tammy, I'm glad you don't have the travel vehicles to worry about even though your hearts and minds are still wanting to travel. It is probably a good idea to wait a while and see what works better. You can still rent a space/cabin at TL, can't you? I'm glad you are thinking about Joe and not wanting to worry him.

PJ, I'm glad you are keeping up on the house and grounds. It isn't fun but necessary as it is hard to sell something that seems "old." I know that the work you do to keep up the yard and house will pay off later when you are ready to leave but I agree if it works for you, no reason to leave.

LG, I'm sorry you are working so much. I'd love to hear from the Weezies and others from the team but I agree that we are a good small group. I hope PT works well for you and you are feeling better. I know we can't expect to do the things we did 20 years ago the same way, but it would be nice if we could do the things we did 5 years ago.

SS, glad you had a great time with girls night out. Good for you sticking to your plan. I have to admit that I'm a sucker for salsa and chips. I'm glad that you and the girls can get out from time to time. You are getting more girls now that you have some newer additions.

Off to clean up a bit. I found some messes the grands have made in their recent visits. It is disappointing when they do this. I sent a stern message to the parents of said children and they will be here to help clean up.

Have a great day.

Hi, Seesters...

the fifth wheel is gone and the small travel trailer is on a sales lot at our RV resort. We have unloaded personal items from both now. We are maybe not completely done, but will (hopefully) take our time to get another but larger travel trailer that will stay at TL.

I would join a FB group for just us! Thank you for considering, LG! emoticon

Must go get on the exercise bike. I have NO time in today...

Back from exercise. I did walk at the lake trail yesterday and have been sewing everyday. We had a plumber come today to give us an estimate on replacing our 4 outside hydrants and the shutoff that shuts all of them off at once. It is getting done tomorrow Ouch almost $3000 but we have got to do it as one is leaking and we need to keep this place up so when we have to sell things are in good shape. Hopefully that won't be for several years yet.

The next project will be to get some outside landscaping done in front of the house. Just River rock areas expanded to what Frank has already done in years past. All these things are at least a one time thing.

I go for my quilt lesson on the 4 point posey quilt tomorrow. One of the quilt shops I have been going to offered to show my how so I am taking her up on it. Was going to do it last Thursday but the car was in the shop that day

We are supposed to have rain coming in tomorrow and chances for a few days.

Yes I would join the FB group it will be good to hear from the Weezies too and catch up with what is going on with them.

LG - you know I’m all over Facebook and would join.

I had a Girls Night out this evening at a Mexican restaurant. I ate a few chips and salsa. Ordered a taco salad for my meal. Did not eat the bowl and about half the salad. No dressing, I just used a little salsa. Calorie’s were within my range do I feel like I dodged a bullet!

Well, tomorrow begins our biggest shop hop and we are working 8-6 every day. We will all be ready for a break!

I spoke with Sharon on Sunday about starting a private group on FB. Personally I want to keep it just for us. So there would not be any invitations for any one not in this group. I donít want to start one & no one respond! So I want to know if I do it will you join? Iím planning to ask the Weezieís to join.

I have all but deleted the MFP app. Donít like the way it is set up.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Morning!

We continue to have thunderstorms move through but not complaining as we needed the rain.

Today I am doing some housework and putting new sheets on our bed. Plus, I will be doing a couple loads of laundry and some bill paying. So I will be keeping busy.

Father's Day was nice. Casey called and talked to his dad and Roni invited us to meet them at Red Robin for lunch after church. The bonus was her stepson Riley came with them. We haven't seen him in a couple years. He's 23 now, has a good job and lives in an apartment by himself. He seems to be doing well and he is enjoying his life. He is a very good looking young man and I noticed when we walked out of the restaurant, he turned quite a few young ladies heads. He is no where ready to settle down but does enjoy the female attention he gets.

Good morning, Seesters!

It is rainy here today, so no watering of plants. It's a nice change.

Father's Day has come and gone. I'm always glad for the gone of this particular day. I posted about such in the past and also on the RV thread so I won't repeat myself.

Less than 2 months now for SP as we knew it...I am on MFP as tamhum.

Hello, ladies.

Had a very busy week with PT working, and volunteering at our T3 event. Thatís an obstacle course & mud race sponsored by our church. We did our usual job of checking in volunteers and checking IDs at the beer tent. It poured rain for most of the day but the runners love it. They also have a race for kids from 4-12. Itís amazing that they do it! But we had lots of mud for sure!

Today we are just relaxing. I have therapy again tomorrow but I wonít be getting into the pool. It was hard & I was worn out after an hour of it!

I need to work on my garden and get laundry done. I want to do some baking but Iíll have to see if I run out of time!

Yíall have a great day!

We are having rain off and on but cooler temps. I just walked and got our mail. I have taken two walks, both over 10 minutes and my FB did not acknowledge them. I hope there is not anything wrong with my FB!

This evening one of the ladies Norm worked with and her DH are coming over to visit and catch up. They haven’t been to our new home so it’s been several years. Norm was her boss so that says a lot that after all these years she reached out to Norm!

Already mowed front yard and made chicken salad, washed 3 loads of clothes, boiled eggs, trying to get all done before it gets sooooo hot. Then will sew today.

Car is fixed but still have a vibration. We think it is too much dirt and mud around the tires Frank will clean that up today. That has happened to us before darn old gravel roads.

The quilt festival yesterday was ok. Lots of booths regarding free style quilting, buying sewing machines and lots of fat quarters for sale. There just wasn't much there for notions etc. I did buy a wooden tool that has a seam ripper on one end and a awl on the other (Fancy wooden gizmo very pretty yellow and red). And the ends can be pulled out and turned so they are inside so it will be good for traveling.

Take care and be careful in this heat.

Hi, Seesters!

I'm trying very hard NOT to complain with our SW MO heat, but it sounds as if cooler temps are in the forecast after this weekend. I'm ready!

I have spent about 15 minutes on our exercise bike today. I did it in two different times, and didn't use the timer function. Hence, the "about" 15 minutes.

I've been getting updates all day re my BIL's colon surgery in FL. He's in post op and all looks good. No news yet on benign/malignant. His dad has gone to a cancer treatment center in southern FL with stage 4colon cancer, so there is that. Lots of stress...

I've been participating in a summer reading challenge and have earned 4 tickets so far that I've applied to one of the gifts - an air fryer set of itmes. There are four or five different sets of things, trying to appeal to all who might participate, I guess. The air fryer set was the only one that interested me.

My little buddy has been in Panama City Beach this week with his parents and a few others. It looks as if he has had a great time. I think they are on their way back today, ahead of the storm coming in, thank goodness. I know they planned to be back on Saturday.

If you are friends with DD, you may have noticed she is having a bad pain day. Sigh...Sometimes she can tell a difference if she has eaten sweets. I must confess that is the first thing that I wonder when I see such FB posts, but it doesn't have to be that.

Hello to all...

Hi Seesters. I've been busy doing other things. I've got to get some squares sewn together today. They are mostly done but the last bit. I've been cleaning and purging. The Shredder and I are friends.

DD isn't finding out what the gender of her baby will be. I only did with the last one so it isn't a big deal. I don't get to make a quilt until the child is born but it gives me something to do. I do have to get started on the things for the other baby so the current project is the last that isn't baby oriented for a while.

She came yesterday and the boys and the Dragon played for a while. It was fun for them all but they got very wet. The dogs had a great time.

Today is chill. I need to get groceries but will wait another day. I'm hoping to take advantage of the weekend specials. I need more fresh foods.

Sewing camp will start next week. It is exciting to have it start again. I hope the kids ae ready to sew.

Off to play with the dog. Have a great day.

I am just getting ready to do some sewing. Frank has called a plumber to see about the outside hydrants being fixed. Hoping they will call us back.

My car goes to the shop on Thursday with a warranty problem. When I go to park the gear shift doesnt snap in like it should setting off an alarm (bell) saying put car in park (even though it already is) and the bell won't shut off. I have been able to jiggle the gear shift handle and it will eventually shut off. Frank googled and this is a common problem with several models of vehicles.

THats about it for me today. Enjoy

Hi Seesters. HOT here. Is supposed to break records for this time of year by 20 or more degrees. And it is so dry they are rationing outside watering. I'm hoping it doesn't come to the mess California was in in the 80's.

LG, I haven't gotten onto MFP yet. I did sign up. I'll have to get there on another day. I have some goals to reach since I sometimes fritter away my day.

SS, I'm glad you are taking the bull by the horns and moving things in whatever direction works for you. I do enjoy seeing what others and doing and although we all live in different places, it is fun to see what all are doing. It has been very valuable in the past year when we were all so limited in our contacts.

Off to finish cleaning the fridge. I'm halfway there and had to soak a messy syrup spill. I have wonderful grands who are so careful. I'm halfway through my list for today. Have a great day.

LG - I am sorry you are having trouble getting around in MFP. I do notice I can do more from my laptop than with the mobile app. I wish I could sit down and show you as it’s so difficult trying to explain online. Let’s start by asking which are you using? I can set up a group for this team and then when you join, I can make you the leader. . To find the RV team, go to Groups and scan through the different groups.

Ok Iím completely lost! I signed up for MFP but donít know where to go or what exactly to do! Not sure how to put in my food, exercise, etc. will have to keep exploring.

Sharon, how do I find the RV group? If I want to set up one for this group how do I do it? A bit confusing for now.

Good Evening
We had a good time with our friends today. We went to pizza ranch but I was fine with my stats for the day

LG - I did set up a private group in MFP for the RV team. Everyone active on this team are members so if you set up yourself on MFP you can find us under groups. Then you just have to join. As leader I can either accept or decline your request. FB is OK but I would prefer everything in one spot. So far I am enjoying their food data base. Also you can scan bar codes easily and today I set up my Daily Supplements. It was pretty easy and now I can find it under my meals and add them with one click just like SP.

Tammy, so sorry about your DD. My SIL used a knee walker when she had foot surgery. Canít hurt to look into it. Glad you got time with your grand baby. Relish and cherish it as it goes very fast.

Sharon, I know what you mean but I havenít looked into MFP. Iím still thinking about starting a page on FB for us. But maybe if we all join MFP & there are group chats it would be ok. Iím still trying to process it all. emoticon

Iím going out to eat with my 95 yo friend! She picked the place and itís a tavern here in town! Should be fun. They have wonderful food!

Got to run.

Hi Seesters. It is nice outside today. A great day to attend a concert in the outdoors. The Jedi is here. He walked the dog and is making his lunch. He likes only beige food so today is Rice a Roni. He can make it and eat it and I'll send him the leftovers as well.

SS, it is hard to know what to do. If MFP will include the others who can't do Spark and we can have groups, that is a good choice. If it is going to work out, I'll join. There is not a reason not to since we enjoy the social so much.

Tammy, sorry about DD. It is true that she has a lot of challenges for sure. I hope she is able to heal enough to be able to return to work. It seems like she has a lot of struggles right now. I hope things turn around for her.

I'm glad you got time with DGS. Having the opportunity to be with him even when he sleeps is a precious thing after the past year. Glad he felt better the next day and was able to rest and heal for you.

I'm off to get things done. Always something to do.

Have a great day.

Hello Seesters!

I have lost my Spark here on this website. I will keep posting on our group threads but I have no desire to work at earning points as they will just go away in August.

We had Community Coffee this morning and I was complaining (yes, complaining) that SP was going away in Aug. Several of the ladies here belong to My Fitness Plan and love it. I mentioned our teams on SP going away and they told me I can create Private Groups in MFP. When I got home, Marianne had left me basically the same message. So I am experimenting with setting up an RV group. If all works well, I will invite you ladies as well.

Tammy - I am glad you got some alone time with GS. He must have had an upset tummy from something he ate although all the extra sleep is the bodies way of healing so perhaps it was some type of bug. So sorry for your DD! If it weren't for bad luck, she would have no luck at all. Perhaps she can practice with the crutches at home. I'm not good with them either. My SIL used a knee crutch when she had foot surgery. I'm not sure where the sprain is but perhaps it would work for your DD so she could get back to work.

Hi, Seesters!

We are now into more usual summerish weather and we have had less rain the past few days. I have needed to water my potted vegetable plants and need to get out their later today again. On an ideal day, I would water them twice as per some gardening article that I read. I have little green tomatoes setting on, have harvest lettuce a few times for us, and one of my pots of zucchini seeds sprouted yesterday. Joe's turnips in the actual garden seem to be doing well. My plans to do more with the actual garden haven't gone so well, but it is early yet. I did finally get a couple of planters of flowers done yesterday.

DD fell at work yesterday around noon and thought she was okay, but this morning I needed to take her to Urgent Care and they said she has a severe sprain and she has a splint. She could have gone to work if she could have managed the crutches, but she never quite managed that and also about did a face plant with them while the dr looked on. She cried when she got back in the car. She is off work since she can't be weight bearing on the foot as it begins to heal. Always something...

I watched my little buddy again on Tuesday - he had some short-lived thing but had thrown up twice at daycare and had to come home. No fever, etc. I got there a bit before 11 and we played, just not as enthusiasticallly as Saturday. Then he took a nice long nap, which I worried would keep parents up later, but he also slept well that night and was back to daycare the next day. We've decided he just needed more grandma time. LOL

I've only thought about quilting, and as we know, thinking doesn't get it done. LG, the quilt is lovely.

I've not decided what I'm going to do about SP, but I would likely join a FB group if it was set up.

Hi Seesters. It is nice out today. More normal temperatures. I've been staying up way too late this week. Not sleeping. Gotta get back to waking early and leave the late nighters to someone younger.

LG, the quilt is lovely. It is quite detailed and a ton of work. I'm glad it is done and I'm sure you are as well. It looks great on the bed. I'm impressed.

PJ, sorry Frank is suffering. Hopefully the sleeve and bandages will help with the swelling which should relieve the pain and he will feel better. I'm glad you found a good carpet cleaner. i like working with the local craftsmen.

It will be 20 grands for me. I have six kids so I figured years before I had any grands that I'd have somewhere between 12 and 20. If each child had two each, that would be 12 and if they had a few more, it would be more. I think this is probably it. The oldest turns 16 in a couple of weeks. The current youngest is 20 months. There are currently 3 preschoolers, 10 in elementary school, 3 in middle school and 3 in high school.

SS, sounds like you are staying busy. Hopefully you will get away for a bit this summer.

Have a great day. I'm going to sew a bit this afternoon, probably.

Good Evening!

Norm finished installing the doors on the frig this morning so now we should be able to go if we can find a chunk of time.

SP Coach Denise said in the SP Alumni FB page that there will be a tracker up and running by 8/17 but we will not be able to migrate our favorites and groups. Big disappointment for me!

It was another very hot day today!

WG - Congratulations on another baby on the way! How many GK’s will that make for you? Some of them are getting quite old already so it’s not all little ones.

LG - the quilt is beautiful. I really do admire the talent you ladies have that quilt.

PJ - how nice you found someone that cleaned your carpets well. My carp in the bedroom needs cleaning but we were going to replace it this summer. If we don’t, I will have to get it cleaned.

WG congrats on the newest future grand. How many will this make now? And how old is the oldest one?

Frank had his dr appt yesterday. He now has bursitis in the elbow that had surgery. Dr wants him to wear an ace bandage with a well padded elbow compression sleeve over that (which they put on him) at all times except when he showers and he goes back in 6 weeks. Dr said he didn't seem to have an infection and hopefully this will take the swelling down and some of that fluid will reabsorb. He said he doesn't like to drain them as there is a risk of infection doing that. He is pretty miserable between the swelling and the compression sleeves.

We had our carpets cleaned yesterday afternoon. The guy was right on time and did a terrific job I have been putting the small stuff I had moved back in place after letting things dry overnight. He was a local man in business for himself for 29 years. We also got some local names from him for an outside plumber and landscape people. I really like dealing with local individuals when possible versus these big franchised companies. And word of mouth is always a plus.

Well back to work since I am cleaning today before starting any more sewing projects I will go up and clean my She Cave too. Ugh

So I checked out Spark America and it's not that far from this, it is more towards big corporate groups, businesses, and cities, but still can track nutrition, steps, etc. As long as it's free I'm ok, looks like, but I don't know for sure, that you can't make groups or teams like this and others that some of us belong to, but again I'm not sure. I joined but haven't looked into anything yet as far as starting teams and the such. It does suck that so much will be lost when this closes and I don't want to go to the trouble of saving everything to a pdf, but that's just me.

Take care and I'll see you on FB.

So as far as a FB Page goes that is something we should all think about. Pat if you want we can it doesn't matter, we will do what's best for the team.

Oh going camping this week with friends here at the state park that's just outside of town.

Hi Seesters. It is sad indeed that this team is in danger. I don't know what the better choice is. It is true that we all are part of the RV team. LG and I don't own RVs and really don't travel. I don't know about the Weezies and if they would want to participate in a FB group. It might be easier.

One of my other teams is doing a Google group of some sort. I'll have to see what she is doing to make it happen. I'll have to see.

PJ, it sounds like you have had a hard week or so. The oven mitts and towels look beautiful. You do very nice work. It is nice to have some other outlets.

SS, I'm glad Norm is getting the fridge installed. I'm sure you are eager to step outside your bubble a little.

DD announced yesterday they are expecting in November. They have 2 boys so it would be nice to have a girl but they are good with any baby as you should be when deciding on another child.

Off to clean up. After dinner with 31 people, there is a bit of cleaning to do. Have a great day.

Pat - I can if you’d like but I think most everyone that post on this team also posts in the RV thread so I think everyone on this team is a member

I went in and signed up for SparkAmerica but it’s not going to replace what we have. It doesn’t look like there will be nutrition tracking! Very disappointed.

My first thought is most of us use FB. Perhaps we can set up a private page there. I don’t know how but I am going to check in to it.

Norm and I have been out working on changing the frig in our MH so I just signed in to SP.

If you haven't heard yet, Spark People is closing down in August. As a leader of the RV team, I know NOTHING and had to read it like everyone else.

NOt a good start to my day. Dropped a carton of eggs what a mess on the floor. Luckily I had just used 5 of them. Earlier this week I put my cup of tea in the microwave and forgot the water (My brain is not working LOL) the cup exploded another fine mess.

I have been sewing up a storm. Making oven mits and kitchen towel toppers to match to put in the (new to me quilters guild I joined a couple of weeks ago). They are having there next meeting on Thursday and wanted to hand them in before starting another quilt. The last one I did had so many mistakes but like I said it was a learning project for me. I tried some FMQ (free motion quilting) not as easy as it looks.

Chris and TT got back form their mini vacation in Hannibal and had a great time. I sent a text to GS and his wife saying we are patiently waiting on an invite to see them and meet baby Crosby (she is over a year old now) and that we had been vaccinated. So far no invite. I am so disappointed.

Frank goes for a follow up from his elbow surgery on Monday and I am going with him. His elbow is swollen all the time (and he isn't doing much to cause it) so we are both thinking it is fluid buildup (since it is squishy) and they may want to drain it. I sure hope something can be done. I worry if not his fishing and hunting may not happen and he would be a hard person to live with in that case.

LG you asked about my featherweight. I haven't used it much did a bit of piecing with it (which is what I bought it for while traveling) and it sews beautifully. My other machine is a Janome 4120QDC is that what you have too? Anyway I miss the built in scissors and the push button backing function. The featherweight has a lever you toggle (no biggey just something different to get used to) and of course the needle threader. All a matter of adjustment on my part.

You all enjoy your day.

Morning! Nala and I went for a nice walk before the heat of the day. We will be in the 90’s for a few days.

Norm is working for the park this morning but promised to stop before noon.

His boss is coming over in the morning to help Norm change the frig in the MH. I am glad someone is going to help Norm. I am anxious to get it in and running so we can use the MH again.

Yesterday was a sad day. We had to go to Diana’s sister’s funeral. This was Di’s older sister. Both their parents were alcoholics and didn’t do much parenting. Maxine was like a mother to the three younger siblings so it was a big loss for my friend.

It has finally stopped raining here and so I plan to get outside and work. At least as much as I can!

Tammy, I donít plant any vegetables anymore because they attract critters. It is nice that you are close enough to help out your DD.

WG, I enjoy reading about your family. Havenít seen ours since Motherís Day. They are all busy going different directions.

I didnít get any sewing done yesterday asi went to PT. Lord, she wore me out! But I do see an improvement so Iím ok with that.

Well, everyone have a great day. Iím heading outside!

Hello, Seesters!

It finally feels more summerish. AND NO RAIN!

I planted some bush zucchini seeds this morning, in pots and hope for better results than I had last fall. I also have a couple of planters ready for some flowers and will perhaps get that done tomorrow. I will soon prepare an early supper and then go pick up DD from work; SIL cannot be in two places at once. He now has an inperson job and I much prefer he be at work since he is supposed to be. LOL I think DD will have a ride home with a coworker in a few days, but for now this is fine.

No sewing today, but did make a small batch of a simple cole slaw and a jello fruit salad. Other than that, just household stuff.

GS will get to show me his new stuff on Satuday as his mommy goes to finalize trip preparations and daddy works. They leave for FL a week from tomorrow.

Hello to all...LG, have a good rest. WG, glad you like the beau, and I agree that peaceful is very good. In my own life, not being made fun of has been very good.

Hi Seesters. It is beautiful but promises to be hot. I love a cooler June, but it isn't going to happen again this year.

LG, glad you have a day off. You aren't a spring chicken. Working hard is going to tire you out even though you love it. Hopefully you will get well rested and get to do some things around the house.

I didn't do a ton of cemetery stuff for several years. I do enjoy seeing the aunts but for a while only took flowers to my dad's grave. Now that my dad, brother, step father, and mom are buried there, it is important for me to do it. I have one aunt who still comes and cousins who still come. I started doing genealogy seriously about 25 years ago and since then, it has been nice to try to connect the children and grands to that feeling of family so when I'm no longer here, they will carry on and keep the stories and lives in memory.

Off to get lunch. The grands will be here very quickly. Have a great day.

Good morning! Iím not working today. Sharynn thinks I need to rest up before the big shop hop coming up in a couple of weeks. I know that I wear out pretty quickly. So Iím ok with that.

WG, glad you got to meet the new beau. And it sounds like you had a good weekend. We used to do the cemetery ďthingĒ when I was a kid but we donít any more. My father didnít like it but mom did at one time. We eventually quit altogether.

Tammy, you are too funny! But glad you didnít need bail money!

I have no plans for today except maybe some sewing.

HI Seesters. Happy Memorial Day. I am laying low today. Had all the social interaction Saturday and Sunday. Today will be a bit of laundry, sewing, and maybe reading a book. I do need to get a walk in as well as some cleaning since it is garbage day tomorrow.

It was fun to meet SIL's beau. He is a good guy. He seems to genuinely care for her. They are calm and peaceful. My brother was a good man but he wasn't peaceful. They seem comfortable and happy. The house wasn't perfectly clean and it was nice to see that it was OK.

Yesterday was the cemetery day and aunt and some cousins were there as well. It was fun to visit and catch up. The grands had a great time in the cemetery although I'm sure that it wasn't peaceful for those who wanted that. Of course, there is a beach next to the cemetery so it is almost never really peaceful. Just beautiful.

Tammy, so glad you avoided any charges. After a while, it is supposed to be easier and the hurt is less. It doesn't change the fact that the reasons for divorce still exist so it can be hard. I never understood how people could vacation with exes. I'm glad DGS had a great time. He will love the gifts and the toys. I'm sure the pinata was fun for the other children. I'm glad you get to enjoy DIL's DGM. She sounds like fun.

Glad Joe got out and was able to get things straight with the honeysuckle vine.

LG, it isn't that you love the others less but that you have a different relationship with him. You have bonded in a different way.

Have a great day everyone. I'm off to get some things done.

Hello, Seesters...

There were no calls for anyone to get out of jail, so that let's you know that I "played nice" with the ex at GS's bday party yesterday. LOL It's odd to think that we have been divorced about half of my life now. He just retired from teaching. He began after we were divorced.

Anyway...GS's third bday party was just wonderful and I am always glad that he has so many folks that love him. When asked, DIL and DS had asked for beach themed stuff as they are going with a small family group to northwest FL in a couple of weeks. The theme was shark related and even included a small shark pinata. Some of the older little kids didn't know what a pinata was, so that was neat to watch their experience. When asked, DS and DIL had asked for beach themed stuff, so I got exactly what DIL showed me when I asked, which was a car tray for the car ride. He also got beach towels, some with his name, swimming trunks, etc. I always enjoy visiting with DIL's grandma; I want to be like her when I am her age! She is just the most gracious lady and still quite active in her 80s. I just love her.

Joe took care of a honeysuckle vine which had grown into a wisteria vine this morning. I paid bills and other little household chores.

Hello to all...must get more done.

Happy Saturday!

We are doing nothing this weekend but a few odd jobs here at the house. Yesterday I did get most of the kitchen cleaned, grocery shopping and laundry. So today itís more laundry and the rest of the kitchen cleaned.

WG, it is very hard for me as Iím so much closer to Luke. He has become a wonderful grandson. Not that the girls arenít but he & I are so much closer. It is amazing that he was only 2 when I took care of him. Heís 13 now!

Iím not a fan of soy sauce so I donít think Iíd put it in my brownies! I sometimes add cinnamon though.

Tammy, so glad you are getting out and about. Are you wearing a mask? After my hip surgery, the only place I wear one is the doctorís office or hospital where they are required. Iím just tired of it.

Iím still reading the ďquiltĒ books. Iím on book #5. Iím finding them most interesting.

PJ, are you loving your Featherweight? Iím still considering buying one. But I have the Janome 4120 and itís only 11 pounds.

SS, glad to hear that Casey and Zona are moving back to Michigan and closer to you. Itíll be nice to have your chicks all close!

And congratulations on your big win at the casino!

Better get moving. Have a very Happy and safe Memorial Day.

Hi Seesters. Have grands here. Not my usual week but other grandmother doesn't want to be sick over the weekend. It's a stomach bug and pretty contagious. I'm keeping safe and have rarely gotten ill from my kids or grands.

LG, I'm glad you are watching the Indy 500. It is fun to have traditions. It sounds like the grands are growing up and doing more and more. It's hard to believe that little Luke who was 2 when I first knew you is so grown.

Tammy, so glad you and Joe are getting out a little this year. It is hard as we age to be able to go places. I'm sorry you will have to encounter Ex. I don't know that there is any good way of ignoring him but that is what I do. I'm happier when I don't have to be friendly.

What is it with the "spoons?" Is it a gift that someone has to use or something else?

Yes, I deliberately added the soy sauce. I think I might add a bit more as it was 2-4 teaspoons for a 9 inch pan. It adds a bit of a different taste. it is quite subtle. The person demonstrating said it was like caramel sauce but not really. It is a bit salty so it is like having salted chocolate. I like the flavor. I'm one to try new flavors for sure. I like soy sauce so it wasn't a reach for me.

SS glad you are getting out more. It is nice that the virus is nearly gone. I was listening to a non CDC doctor who was citing statistics and said that with the infected people who have immunity for at least this summer and the vaccinated people that we have reached a number where the spread is really dropping. At least here. I feel bad for the other places that don't have the vaccine and adequate supplies.

I'm glad Casey and Zona will be closer. I'm sure they have missed family. It's hard no matter what decision we make.

PJ, glad you are getting some sewing done. How are your hands doing lately? Is the rest from knitting and crocheting helping at all? Have fun helping the kids. I know you enjoy it.

Off to be grandma. I missed meeting SIL and her new beau today because I had the sick kids. I should see her on Saturday for sure. Sunday we are doing the cemetery and Monday I have no plans. I don't really mind. I have some shows I want to binge on so I can sew and binge. Sounds like fun for me.

Have a great day.

Hi!
Quick check in as we have been busy all day starting with Community Coffee this morning. In a few minutes we are going to PU our mulch. It’s on sale at Blain’s. Our SIL works close and is meeting us there in his truck to transport it home for us. So it’s safe to say, Norm will be putting down mulch over the weekend.

We are excited to share that Casey and Zona will be moving back to MI. I wrote all about it in the RV thread if you are interested. They will be towards the middle of the state about 1 1/2hr dr from us but much closer than GA! They have an offer pending on their home so if all goes through they could be moving back by July!

Good morning another rainy inside day here. Not much going on I have going to my ladies exercise and sewing on a quilt. About ready to put the binding on. I have had more issues with this quilt, but I am using it as a learning experience. Disappearing 9 patch, doing some FMQ on it (that is not easy) and have had lots and lots of puckering in the fabric. I thought I had it stretched tightly but apparently not and/or didn't have it pinned enough before sewing. It isn't going anywhere just to us good thing because I really don't want anyone else to see it.

Frank had is neck dopplered on Tuesday (just a regular yearly followup) but don't know the results yet. I will be going to Chris and TT on Saturday (its his 50 birthday) with a small home made cake Nothing fancy and some minor decorating on it plus help them clean up they had a huge tree cut down in their back yard and to save money the tree guy only cut it down so lots to clean up now. One of the neighbors is to be there with a chain saw to help too for a few hours. Should be burning a few calories and I love to help with outside physical work like that anyway especially helping them at their place.

That is all the plans for our holiday.
WG never heard of putting soy sauce in brownies. I may have to try that even with some of my low carb baked goodies.

Everyone take care.

I go by the name of PJ and live north of KC, MO. Winter in East Texas.

Onward and Downward

Its always too soon to quit.

It may take me longer to get to my goal than my original plan but I will get there.

Hello Seesters!
We had a fun day today. We met our friends for breakfast and then decided since it was raining we would go on a road trip to another casino. I was the big winner of the day and brought home an extra $300 dollars!

When we came out of the casino the rain had moved out and it was sunny. We expected to have to wear masks but if you were fully vaccinated you could go mask free so we enjoyed that. We really like the no smoking in the casinos since Covid and hope it stays that way!

We have no exciting plans for the Holiday. So we shall see what develops.

Tammy - I can’t believe you are celebrating your GS’s 3rd birthday already. I am sure you will be a good girl and tolerate the ex for the good of the party.

WG - I am surprised as well with the soy sauce in the brownies! Does it change the flavor much?

LG - I hope you are tolerating your work schedule this week and it is not too painful for you.

Hi, Seesters!!

I have now done a bit more cutting/sewing re quilts. I need to get a move on if I am going to make my goal I thought re the foster child group.

Memorial Day - I will go to GS's third birthday on Sunday afternoon. Joe was not well at all last year at this time and I didn't go. It's the one time yearly that I seem to need to be within a short distance of the ex, but I will do it for GS. LOL There will actually be a lot of DD's family there anyway, and I enjoy a lot of them. DD and SIL are riding with me, I think, and we will need to be watching how many of DD's "spoons" she has used. Both she and SIL will have Monday off, so that is good. We used to go to the lake and camp on Memorial Day weekend, but I had a lot more energy and a lot more tolerance back in those days. LOL

I shared other things in the RV thread, so will just say "hi!" to all here.

Except...WG, did you put soy sauce in the brownies on purpose?

Wow! Itís Wednesday morning already! The exercises that my PT gave me are kicking my ass! Iím hoping that they will make me stronger and the pain will be gone!

What is everyone doing for Memorial Day? Sunday weíll be watching the Indy 500 or at least part of it. Kids arenít coming as they are all going in different directions.

Brooke is still at school and taking one class. She is also still working. She does plan on coming home on June 11th. Carmen is working almost full time and Luke is playing golf!

So weíll spend the weekend working in the garden or sewing or watching movies!

Hi Seesters. It is cool today but much warmer than yesterday.. It is so frustrating that the kids couldn't have dinner here yesterday. I miss the family dinners. It has been far too long.

The boys came for dessert and I made some brownies with soy sauce as an ingredient. It gave them a different flavor and I like it. It was just a couple of teaspoons so it wasn't much. It was wild and crazy. The cousins missed each other and it was fun to see them together. I don't have leftovers so it is a good thing.

SS, glad you are able to go about without masks for the most part. It will take a while before everyone is comfortable with it. It has been a very hard year and we all deal differently. I don't mind them, but I was a nurse and did wear them a lot then. My kids who work and have worn masks over a year are still wearing them. They are pretty comfortable with them but will be happy to be able to lose them. I'm glad you found places that you can enjoy without the masks.

LG, enjoy work this week. It is a lot of work days for you but it will be fun.

Hope everyone had a good weekend. It was wet here. Hopefully it will help the water. I'm off to get lunch and get ready for the grands. Have a great day.

Happy Monday!

We got a nice rain late yesterday afternoon and some overnight. Not as much as we need but it's a start. It's still gray and overcast so perhaps some more today.

Our weekend was very low key. We didn't do much beside reading or watching TV.

Norm is doing better since they cut his meds in half. The full dose was making him light headed and nauseous. He is going back to work today and promised he would stop if he gets light headed again.

I am doing laundry and office paperwork. Nothing special again today.

LG - It is definitely a step in the right direction to lift the mask mandate. June 1st they are lifting more restrictions and by July 1st all the restrictions will be lifted unless something changes. It feels good to think we are so close to returning to normal!

It will be a busy week for you working so much. Take care of you! I would love to see the table and chairs you bought for your deck. It's a good addition, especially when you love sitting on your deck.

Sharon, so glad you are able to finally go without the masks. I only wear one when required. Just hate them! Would not have made a good surgical nurse! And glad you are getting to visit with friends.

We had a very quiet weekend. We did do some shopping & I bought a small table and chairs for our back deck. Just love sitting out there.

Sharynn and Darrell are on vacation for this week so Iím working 3 days.

Iím trying to do all the exercises that Iíve got to do but some a pretty difficult at times.

Need to get moving and get some baking done.

Morning!

It has been fun going out again as our Mask Mandate has been lifted! There are a few retail stores that still request you wear a mask so we keep our mask handy.

We wanted to go to McDonald's for lunch yesterday but their dining room is still not open. Drive thru only. The line was unbelievably long so we went to the Subway in WalMart! I'm not sure why McDonald's is way behind all the other fast food places.

Today our friends are coming to visit. They got their 2nd vaccine on Monday and it really kicked their butts. Today is the first day Ron even feels like eating so of course, he wants to go to Pizza Ranch. I really don't care for their pizza so I can eat pretty well. I do give in to a piece of dessert pizza with a little ice cream on top.

We are enjoying our sunny warmer days and I'm sorry for those with rain. We need some rain too but have to wait.

Hey, ladies!

WG, it does sound like everyone is having fun. A good thing. Iím sure you can use the rain. Last week we had several days of nothing but rain and cold.

Tammy, so glad we are starting to get back to normal. I agree that this past year sucked!

PJ, glad you are enjoying the sewing! Iím putting on the last border of a quilt I started in 2007! It is the largest quilt Iíve made. Itís 118Ēx96!

We went to Lukeís last 2 golf matches and he did pretty well. He will play on a league this summer so hopefully we will get to go.

Hi Seesters. It sounds like you all are having a lot of fun. My weekend was pretty quiet. The farmers asked the others in the state to fast and pray for rain. It has been a bad year and our water levels are pretty low. Low and behold, it started raining Saturday night. The farmers were happy although it didn't really change the water picture much to have a bit of rain. We need some gully washers like you all are getting.

Tammy, have fun visiting family. It will be nice to have some visiting and see how the camping goes for both of you. It is nice to get away. I'm glad both of you are feeling better and you got a visit from DS and family. It is good that DGS gets to see where you live and spend time with you in your space. The past year has been so hard for everyone.

Glad your allergies are better. It is nice to have whatever noxious thing is bothering you is done blooming. Hope the yard enjoys the water.

PJ, glad your plants both living and "display only" are enjoying a bath of good rain. It will be good for them to get the nutrients in the rain. I'm sure the grass enjoys the water although it will grow a lot. Hope the meds work for Frank's skin.

SS, glad the IP is working for you. I do enjoy mine. It is still on the counter although I'll put it away so I'll use it again. It is big to be sitting on the counter.

Glad the Losartan is helping you. It is good that you are sleeping better. I'm glad Norm is enjoying his "farmer tractor" and gets to mow the lawn frequently. It is nice that spring is finally here.

LG, I'm glad you get to watch Luke play. It's good that you can walk the 9 holes and enjoy it. You had a busy weekend. Glad you had fun but it would tire me as well. Aren't you working a lot this week?

Off to get laundry done. I got out some blocks I made for something and didn't use. Am trying to figure out what to do with them. I'm not sure I've got the right idea so I might sit on them a bit longer. My 1/4 inch seams are a bit generous so I've got to use them without adding a lot of other things. Hopefully I'll figure it out.

Have a great day.

Hi, Seesters!

emoticon and more rain here still. I am ready for it to be done, but it looks like it is in the forecast until the weekend.

I have only small purchases on the quilting front - I need to be doing some cutting/sewing. I bought some color catchers today. LOL I guess that is progress as I will need them. I am not really spending my days in the best way, I don't think.

Joe's allergies are better, but only after a round of steroids after the original med script in my last post. As for mine, a couple of Allegra and I was better. I'm pretty sure whatever I was allergic to has now bloomed/budded/whatever.

LG, how is the new dog doing in Jason's family? I am glad you are enjoying Jennifer Chiaverini's Elm Creek Quilts series. I enjoyed them a lot.

SS, glad the new meds seem to be doing better. My BF had an awful time getting her elevated blood pressure down, including a trip to the ER after her initial script. She is doing better now. I remember that yours concerned a cough, though. I am glad you found Norm's meds at a better price and that he is doing better as well.

WG, I know you enjoyed the Mother's Day visit. It is so wonderful to be out and about. DS, DIL, and GS were here Saturday evening and it was the first time that had happened since even before the pandemic. I had seen some or all of them, but they hadn't been here to our house in that time frame.

We are going to our camping resort tomorrow even though rain is in the forecast. Joe's daughters, son-in-law, and a friend will be there with us over the weekend for about 48 hours. It will be the first time we have camped in 18 months or more.

Morning!

We finally are getting normal temps for May! Now that the month is half over! I just feel better when I wake up to sunshine.

Norm is adjusting to his new meds and even went to work for the park today. His first shed reconstruction of the summer. I sure hope he doesn't get any more fungus or overdo. I never worried before but now it concerns me!

I am so glad I am now taking Losartan. It may be my imagination but I feel better. I am sleeping better and I have less muscle pain! Makes me why I suffered for a whole year!!

LG - you are so good about attending the grands sport events. I am lucky if I make it to one each season!

PJ, I can relate to all the rain. Saturday was just cloudy and cool and Sunday was the sam now today itís rainy. Hope Frank is feeling better. Thomas strained his back and heís been miserable since. But heís stubborn and wonít take Aleve like he should.

Sharon, glad Norm is liking the rider. The skin issues can be a pain. When I had my right knee replacement surgery, they gave me something & I itched forever. After the hip replacement, I only took Tylenol no narcotics and I didnít have as many issues. The dry cough is very annoying. And I took Lisinopril for a while but had to go to Losartan. So I know the problem.

We had a very busy weekend...Luke had golf on Friday night so I walked 9 holes. Had the most steps Iíve had since October last year. Then Saturday we drove to Lafayette for a wedding and didnít get home until 10:30pm. Sunday, we went to Louisville to see my sister. We had a good time but I was tired last night.

Today, Iím not doing much but Luke plays golf at 5:30. His last one for the school. He is signed up to play on a league this summer.

Need to get the final border on my big quilt but probably wonít get it done today.

PJ - we started out with rain today but it moved out and now it is sunny. I hope Frank is doing better, hopefully the meds are kicking in.

For dinner I made a pork/beef rolled roast in my IP. Another success. I am getting more comfortable with each time I use it!

The grass sure is growing fast but Norm is enjoying his new rider. He mows like every 3-4 days. Good thing we have such a small yard!

Rain rain rain here too. I have my ferns setting on the sidewalk to get a drink and I brought out my huge artificial planter from our bathroom to get a bath too. Much easier then trying to dust off all the leaves involved in that arrangement.

I'm glad I got the front yard mowed and Frank got his mowing done too. I may have to bale the front yard when it is dry enough again to mow.

Well on to do some more sewing on the quilt. I have been doing some sock knitting too (trying to use up yarn previously purchased). Rotating between the 2 crafts.

Sharon I have heard from more people with skin issues and doctors don't know what it is. I hope the meds help Frank. And wish others could get answers too. If the meds don't work I will buy the Gold Bond cream for him.

Morning!

We woke up to a sunny day and the temps may go up to 70 today! It feels like we finally are ditching the winter cold behind us. Too late for a lot of the plants and trees that got frost damage.

PJ - Norm has been struggling for over a year with his whatever! The dermatologist told him the same thing, didn't know but thought it was some kind of fungal infections. Gave him pills and cream but neither helped! He showers twice a day with an antibacterial soap and has found Gold Bond Anti-Itch Cream helps him more than the prescription creams. Even though he is doing better, he must wear long sleeves out in the sun or it flares up quickly! I hope that Frank has better luck with getting rid of it. I've thrown away two sets of sheets from all the blood stains from itching in the night and not even realizing it. They figure Norm picked up some fungal infection from the sheds he works on here in the park. But no one knows what it is or where he got it!

My dry cough has become horrible at night. I am sure it is from the Lisinopril. The doctor agrees and is switching me to Losartan. I have to go PU the new prescription this morning.

I struggle with neck pain which they blame on arthritis. So in my FB feed, there was a pillow from Sutera. It is purple with holes in it and has a lavender scent for better sleep. I wanted it but couldn't justify the cost or ordering from FB ad. Anyway, Big Lots had it for $35 but it was on sale for $20 so I bought one. I do like it. I think it has helped me overall with my pain and getting better sleep. I still have the occasional sleep problems but hope it will be even better when I get rid of this dry cough!

Frank had his dermatologist appt today. He developed some rather ugly red itchy patches on his arms and legs while we were in Texas and has been doctoring but not getting any better. The doctor isn't sure what it is and prescribed him a Rx of antifungal pills to take for 2 weeks and some Rx cream to try and goes back in 3 months. She also gave him a body check for any other issues and did freeze some spots on his ears, hand and top of his head. So hoping the meds will work.

I have been keeping busy sewing and exercising my 2 favorite things to do. Yes I love my group exercising. I do miss my yoga classes and it just isn't the same doing it at home from a video I really like being with others doing classes together. It is more motivating for me.

I have my quilt pinned and ready to start my quilting on it. I think I am going to do a 1/4Ē away from long row seams and then try some stippling free motion quilting (for the 1st time) on some of the squares.

LG now that I am doing quilting I wish we were close enough to visit Sharins (sp?) and go to Shipshewana. But I will be going to MO Star Quilt this summer some time which is only about an hour or less away from us. And I will plan on that being an all day for me. I look forward to that.

Sounds like we will have several days of rain starting late tomorrow. Good time to be quilting I thoroughly cleaned house today so I can play now. LOL

Sharon I have had a few nights of bad sleeping myself Nothing worse.

LG that dog sounds like a cute one and probably not a big dog either.

WG you are always doing lots of cute projects too. Too bad we sewers aren't closer together so we could have a sewing circle.

Morniní, everyone!

Iím off today as Iíll be working more next week. Sharynn & Darrell are going on vacation beginning on the 20th.

Iím planning to get upstairs to the sewing room and work on a quilt I started about 5 years ago! Weezie1 has hers done! So need to get mine set together.

Weíve had some interesting goings on around here. About 2 weeks ago A gal Jason works with asked him to take a stray dog that came into her yard. She posted the dog on Facebook and with vets around town. Jason agreed to take him on a trial basis. They took him to their vet. He is chipped. So after calling the chip company, a woman finally called them about the dog. So they had to give him back. The dog ran away and was gone for 2 weeks and she admitted that she didnít try to look for him. Jason wasnít happy & the kids were very upset. Then 3 days later she called Jason back and told him he could have the dog that she couldnít take care of him. So they now have him back. He is a Maltese/poodle mix. Very cute!

Tammy, I just finished reading the 4th book in that series of Jennifer Chiveriniís Elm Creek Quilts. Iím enjoying them.

PJ, you see what happens when you hang around with quilters? emoticon

WG, your projects are most interesting.

Sharon, I agree about it being too cold. Iím over it! I need to turn off the furnace and open windows!

Morning Seesters!

Nothing much going on around here! Norm finally got the Entresto that the doctor wanted him to take. We got a 90 day supply for $207.00. The best we could do.

I am suffering from the dry cough for my Lisinopril. It is worse when laying down so it is interrupting my sleep. I have a call in to my dr as I can't handle it. See what she has to say.

Community Coffee this morning so we are off and running. Hoping in the next few days out temps warm up. It has been way too cold for this time of year!

Hi Seesters. It is lovely and supposed to be in the 70's today. I am in shirtsleeves but am freezing so I'll slip on a sweater for a bit. Hopefully it will warm up because I'm determined to open the windows today.

Mother's day was fine. It is often one of those days when my expectations exceed my results but I had good visits with 4 kids on Mothers day itself and had dinner with all of them on Saturday. Youngest DS always brings me flowers for my birthday and other holidays. He likes to remember me because I don't have someone else who would buy me flowers.

I got my squares sewn together, ironed and sent off. Hopefully I'll get them back in June.

SS, I hope you got to see the grands. It is nice that you got to spend the day with family.

LG, I'm sure the kids come for dinner. It was nice for Brooke to surprise her mom. I've been seeing the quilts at Sharyns. She's having a lot of fun.

I'm off to have lunch and do some cleaning. When the grands get home, Miss M will want to play cards again. She loves Steal the Pile. It may be that siblings will want to play with her. I have next sewing project ready to start. I want to make a small quilt. I think I'll do a log cabin one from 2 1/2 inch strips so it should go quickly.

Have a great day.

Happy Motherís Day to you all!

My kids came because I offered to cook. Go figure! But it was fine. Had a surprise as Brooke told me she could not come home because she had been home the weekend before. So I was not expecting her just every one else. But she came last night and surprised her mom and then of course she came here! We did have a very nice day.

Poor Rachel...her cat died Friday evening. She is sad but said she wonít get another for some time. She just isnít home enough.

I have to catch up with the posts. So Iíll go back and read them.

Happy Mother’s Day!

PJ - I hear you on hearing from the kids! I got a text first thing this morning from Casey. I actually texted Roni a couple days ago to see if her kids were coming home. I thought we might crash her party. She said she had no idea if any of her kids would check in with her. She did invite us to come over and we are grilling steaks for dinner. I am hoping her kids stop in but Mother’s Day doesn’t mean as much to the younger group of adults. I remember Norm’s dad telling the boys that no matter what occasion they might forget, it should NEVER be Mother’s Day!

If I remember right, your purses were very cute. These days I have the credit card and cash holder attached to the back of my phone so I find myself using my purse less and less.

WG - it’s been so cold here so I hope you had nice weather to go and watch the soccer game. Did they win? It’s nice they are taking you out for dinner. More of a celebration and less work for you!

Happy Mother's Day. Not much happening here. I can't talk Frank into going to see his mom.:( as we didn't get invited. I already celebrated with Chris and TT and I might get a text from Tony but that would be all. Nothing new there.

I will continue to sew today I made another purse this week (like the ones I made a few years ago) I have the top done on the lap quilt I was making now I will prepare it to quilt it myself. A little skeptical as I am going to FMQ on it. I think I will do some stitch in the ditch first then do the FMQ. Also pieced some of the batting together (for the first time using the batting tape). So this one is an experiment and practice for me.

WG I love your projects you are so good at keeping the Grands busy

Hi Seesters. I'm taking a minute to visit before going out to dinner. The kids want to take me out instead of having dinner at my house. I'm fine with that this year. I may want more contact but need to be flexible as all the kids have mothers in law they also need to visit and all of them are nice people.

Got to go to Snow White's soccer game. It has been nice being able to get out again. I missed having these moments.

Tammy, sorry you are suffering from allergies. Do masks help? It may be worth it to wear the masks when out during the weeks the allergies are worst. I know it helps some of my kids.

SS, have fun with the kids. I'm glad you got to have an evening with your DB and DS. It is fun to visit and catch up.

Happy Mother's day. Hope your day is good and you enjoy yourself.

I had a fun evening. My brother and sister came over for the evening. I ordered pizza before they arrived so it came shortly after they arrived. We were able to have a nice long visit and catch up. My brother just got back from KY where he went to the Ark and the Creation Museum.

I also went and got my haircut today. It’s really short but grows fast!

Hi, Seesters....

I had to stop the last post because the "i" quit working....still not sure what happened, as it seems fine now. I am still not sure what effects spilling coffee on the keyboard earlier in the week might have had.

WG, I love the gifts. I don't think I will "need" to remember those last weeks/days for long, but I DO think I needed to these past few days. I was hanging on by a thread a year ago and needed to think about/gain some perspective. I am at peace about it.

I think I may have happened upon what will mostly work for me for allergies. Joe contacted his doctor concerning his and we are waiting on a script to be filled. Tree pollen is super high right now, so I am thinking it is that.

Hi Seesters. It is another beautiful day in paradise. Enterprise and the Gunslinger are here. They have had first and second breakfasts and are ready for lunch. I told them they can't have lunch until closer to noon.

DD and kiddos and dog are coming this afternoon to play. The two boys love getting together.

Had a fun day yesterday. Aside from the anniversary of my first knee replacement, I had the grands do a craft project.
for their new mom. I wanted something that was not too child like but the kiddos could do it. This turned out pretty good and she doesn't have to do something with it every minute. They also made a bag for her cellphone when they are out hiking or something. It's hard to carry phones in maternity jeans

It was fun and I didn't go nuts.

Tammy, I think of my mom on her birthday, the anniversary of her passing, and whenever we would get together. When I went to Enterprise's birthday party Wednesday, I took a treat just as she did so I am remembering her with them and although he never met her, he knows things she did and stories about her. I only visit the cemetery once a year on Memorial day. It is so much more fun to remember her life and the good memories and happy times than to think of the 4 days before she died when I knew it would be any minute or the months before when she was declining and I knew she wouldn't see another Christmas. Those were hard times and while I remember them, I choose not to think of them when I remember her.

SS, so glad the fridge is here and you can get it installed. It will be nice for you to have the MH ready for the next adventure. It is nice to be vaccinated, isn't it, so you can participate in so many activities.

Just got the grands lunch. It is easy since they are picky. No vegetables. No fruits. No tasty alternatives. Just the cheapest and least healthy chicken nuggets and one serving mac and cheese with powdered cheese. They are easy. I'll have my salad and something later.

All the kiddos except the oldest who is spending the weekend at his father's cabin are taking me out to dinner. It will be fun for me and for them. They enjoy being together.

Have a great day.

Hi, Seesters!

Allergy sufferers here at the present; I get miserable before the next time to take meds/use nasal spray/etc. This, too, shall pass.

Yesterday was the first "anniversary" of my mom's passing. I kind of walked back through it all mentally for some days prior, so yesterday was kind of anticlimactic. It seems my niece that helped during the illness was affected the worst yesterday.

Hello Seesters
We had our Community Coffee this morning. If we haven’t been vaccinated, we were asked to wear a mask. Everyone that came has been vaccinated so we all felt comfortable. During coffee I got a phone call about delivering our frig we ordered. It was on a full size semi and they were worried about getting into our park. So Norm left to get the delivery. No problem! So we have the new frig so now Norm has a new project.

After coffee we went to lunch with our friends. Norm was out unpacking the new frig when we got back and all of a sudden he flew into the restroom felling very nauseous. After losing his lunch he came in and laid down. His BP was good so we think it was something he ate.

Now he is watching TV in the recliner and says he thinks he feels better.

WG - we aren’t as lucky with our weather. It is rainy, overcast and windy. We can use the rain but our temps are only in the 40’s so it is cold!

Hi Seesters. It is nice here today. The dog is needy since he spent some time alone last night. He doesn't like to be home alone. It is supposed to be in the mid 80's today. I'm going to open up the house in a few.

PJ, what are you sewing this week? You have such fun projects and always are trying new things. I know you have been doing some quilt work but is there anything else? I'm glad Frank is doing well and can return to his normal activities. It will be nice. Your exercise group sounds great. It will be such fun for you. The rose sounds wonderful

SS, glad Norm had a good eye check up. It is nice to have a quiet fay although I know that isn't the kind you enjoy. I love my Instant pot. It is probably easier for you to use yours as you do make food for two, but it still is fun to use for many things.

Went to Enterprise's birthday yesterday. He wanted me to make him an Iron Man hoodie. He thinks I can sew anything. He isn't accurate but it is fun to let him believe it. It is nice to see the other grandparents and visit with them. My kids have nice in laws.

Off to get some cleaning done before the grands get here. The middle ones want to make something for their step mom. It will be a challenge to help them a bit. I may just have them do tote bags they decorate with fabric markers. She isn't terribly sentimental but she will be nice about getting them.

Have a great day.

Hi Ya'll I have been doing a lot of sewing. The youngest DS and DIL took me out to lunch for an early Mothers Day as well as gave me a beautiful yellow rose in a globe that is filled with water. Supposed to last indifintely. Very unique. They know my favorite color is yellow.

Our little exercise ladies group moved to a small town Community Center. It is a wonderful place and is no cost. We just pay our leader a couple of dollars a session or whatever we can strictly donation. She is so good and we have a great time laughing while we work out. We meet 2 times a week.

Frank had his follow up and got the all clear to do anything that doesn't hurt and goes back in 4 weeks.

I go by the name of PJ and live north of KC, MO. Winter in East Texas.

Onward and Downward

Its always too soon to quit.

It may take me longer to get to my goal than my original plan but I will get there.
