I've been really busy the last couple of days. Norm was repairing the countertop that separated from my flooding the sink the other day. He decided that as long as he was tearing everything apart that we should replace the sink we have never cared for (plastic). So we bought a nice new porcelain sink and a new faucet. It has an LED aerator which turns on with the water flow and turns off when the water flow stops. It's wonderful for those midnight trip to the bathroom.

While Norm was working, I was paying bills and doing laundry. Then when Norm was done it was time for me to clean up and organize and put back everything in the cupboard under the sink.

It's been a good day to stay inside. It is very windy, cold (high of 53) and spitting rain off and on all day!

Hi Seesters. It is busy here and I'm just catching up from yesterday. Have to leave in 20 minutes to get Miss M. I'm bushed.

Tammy, I hope you can get your mom's home health arranged. It is always more difficult than it seems like it should be. It is easier if she was in the hospital but you can do it now. Contacting her insurance may be the best way to go but none of them are going to be easy. I know you are assertive enough to get something done.

Sharon, I hope Norm is talking about his brothers and feelings. it is hard to lose family and I hope he is doing better. He doesn't need to be friends with the brother he feels conflict with but he does need to be civil enough to have the rest believe he is friends. Forgiveness frees him from the anger and hurt. He can forgive without allowing his brother to offend him.

LG, enjoy your vacation.

I'm off to get Miss M. I am making roasted cauliflower tumeric soup today. I'm ready for something different.

Have a great day.

Afternoon!
Mondays go so fast when I spend the morning up at the clubhouse for Exercise Class. I added a Sweatin' To The Oldies after our WATP. The girls really enjoyed it and thought it was more beneficial than the Chair Yoga so we may do that instead of yoga in the future.

Norm is up to the clubhouse watching the rest of the Indy 500 on the projection TV.

I talked on the phone to both Ron's wife and my SIL that flew in for the week. We have a much better picture of why Ron had to die. When admitted they had no idea what was causing the problem and naturally turned to the cancer and the treatment. By the end of the week, they identified they were dealing with a Volvulus (twisting of colon or intestine). That was why they wanted to do surgery but by the time they discovered the problem, Ron was so weak that he could not survive the surgery and was dying. You already know they wanted to put him on life support. Kay said no and it took less than 24 hrs for him to pass. The sad part is the cancer and treatments added to the problem but did not cause his death.

WG - you were right about the chemo not causing his death. I wrote all that out as it probably makes a lot more sense to you.

Also, Norm's sister called me this morning. She waited until she could call and talk without Kay hearing. She said Kay was extremely upset that Terry and Arlene laid a guilt trip on Norm so he felt he should go home. Arlene called Kay to tell her just that. Kay was extremely upset and called us to say she would be OK with us not coming home. LuAnn also wanted us to know that she wouldn't be there and didn't think we should drive home. So I do believe Norm has decided not to go home. That being said, we both feel we want to be there and may regret it later.

Hi Seesters. It is cold today and I've got a lot of trips outside. Poor dog felt banished to the laundry and cried all night. Pitiful howling and sobbing. I finally gave in and we sat int he recliner while he slept and I dozed for the rest of the night. I'm still tired but will survive.

Sharon, I'm sure you will make the right decision to go or stay for Norm's peace. Two days each way is a long trip but it is a good decision if it gives you conclusion.

I'm not sure it was the chemo that killed him. I have had patients who were working and doing well until they had pain and they died within days of diagnosis. If he chose chemo to survive, it was because they may not have thought he would benefit from anything else and he had nothing to lose.

PJ, hope you are enjoying your walks. It is nice to see you at Sam Rayburn.

LG have a fun trip to Florida. Enjoy your visit.

I'm going to feed the pup and have some lunch. Have a great day.

Good Morning!

We got a phone call today that Ron's Memorial Service is going to be on Wed, Feb 26th. Now we have to decide if we want to make the 15 hr drive there and back. It would mean 2 nights in a motel, struggle with Nala who does not do well in a car, plus meals on the road. The service will last about an hour. In writing, it sounds like we shouldn't but of course we feel we would like to be there. I am letting Norm make the final decision.

LG - I knew it was about time for your FL trip. I wondered if you were there when I saw Thomas Jay's picture on FB. I also hope you have greaqt weather because of the short stay.

WG - My sister is so emotional, I wanted to give her a couple days before I call and talk to her later today. She has to go to an Oncologist to discuss her treatment so she really doesn't know yet. Her primary physician told her she will need chemo treatments. Ron had cancer but was feeling no syptoms. They decided to give him experimental chemo pills ( in the morning and in the evening) He only took them for a week when he got so sick. The drs won't admit it was the cancer treatment but it's difficult to believe he would go from being symptom free to dead in two weeks.

PJ - now that you are settled in, I hope you are enjoying your new park. How is your weather? It is overcast here today but temps in the 70 's and no wind so we're happy campers.

Hi Seesters. Cold and gray today. I'm fine but won't be going out much tomorrow. Another storm is coming.

SS, I'm sorry about your BIL. I'm glad his family was able to see him before he passed. It is important to say goodbye. I hope Norm can say goodbye in his own way.

I'm also sorry about your sister. Don't tell her anything negative. It is important that she do what is best for her. Not everyone receiving chemo gets cancer from it. My brother did and I have a good friend who did but it is not common. She may recover and have a wonderful life so think positive and send her positive vibes. It is hard when the negative thoughts are there for you.

PJ, it sounds like you are enjoying your stay already. It is fun to hear of your adventures. Don't you usually see more wildlife here? The pictures are wonderful.

Have a great day. I'm going to get back to work

Sharon I am sorry to hear of your bad news. I hope Norm and his brother can put their differences aside. Do you think your sister will go for treatments? You know Sharon we are here for you.

Busy day so far. I did a load of luandry and walked while they washed and when they were drying. Have a chicken in the crockpot that should give us at 2-3 meals. Vacuumed and mop the floors. Just sitting down drinking a protein shake. Frank is outside doing all his setting up things. I see the clothesline is going up now. We found out that one of the older widowers won't be here after this year. He was the last of the elder ones that were here when we started coming. He celebrated his 94 birthday this week. Going into a retirement home. Will be sad to not see him anymore but it is understandable.

Well, we got the call this morning that Norm's brother has passed. All his children were able to say their goodbyes. As usual, Norm isn't saying much. He took a long walk to be by himself. I was concerned but he said the reality is hard to accept being down here. One of the last coherent things he said before he passed was that Terry & Norm need to put their spat aside and behave like brothers. Norm agrees.

His wife called late last night and said don't bother to come home as he is being cremated and she will have a Celebration of Life Service at a later date. We were OK with that but this morning we found out his sister in KY is flying in to be with family. She will spend a couple days with Kay so she isn't alone. So the other siblings are there to grieve together except for Norm and for that we feel bad.

We also got bad news on my side of the family yesterday. My sister that I am so close to had a hysterectomy a week or so ago and the lab just came back and said it was cancer and that she will need chemo treatments. I didn't dare tell her that Ron's death was speeded up with his chemo treatment!

Sorry to just give bad news - hopefully my next post will be more upbeat!

Hi Seesters.

Sharon, so sorry you are having such a sad time. I pray that Norm's brother passes easily and his family is able to say goodbye. I hope Norm does well with this one. It is hard to lose siblings.

Hope you travel safely if you need to go.

PJ, Glad you got to Sam Rayburn safely. Enjoy your stay.

I'm off to finish some laundry and move the dog. He's been in the main room which makes potty runs int he middle of the night (I'm still setting an alarm) but is not conducive to the family gatherings and there is one this weekend.

Have a great day.

I wish I could say it is a Happy Valentine Day but our hearts are grieving. First they called to say Norm's brother was going downhill so they were taking him in to surgery. Now they called to tell us the doctors are not going to do surgery as his body is shutting down and he's not going to make it. So now we are waiting for the call to say he has passed.

Norm is off getting our oil changed on the car in preparation for a quick trip home if necessary. We haven't discussed funeral arrangements so we don't know what or when that will be. He may be cremated with a service later or a regular funeral.

So please pray for Norm and his family!

Hi Seesters. Having a cold but sunny day here. It has been mostly quiet. The grands got the dog riled up. They tend to agitate things and are not peaceful. It is interesting how the dog interacts with the other grands who aren't in his face and teasing him all the time. No wonder they are afraid of dogs.

SS, hope your BIL feels good enough to go home and have the help he needs. It might be possible to do home health and hospice for your BIL even though they won't be happy about it. He deserves to be where he wants to be. Hospice is a good choice even if he isn't giving up although they frown on chemo and other things that prolong life. Quality of life is so important.

Tammy, I'm glad you could change your mom's appointment. I agree about feeling uneasy when mom isn't being herself. I don't blame your DS for wanting a new job. While perks are fine, they don't usually pay bills. I'd hate to drive so far anyway. Sometimes necessary but not always.

PJ, Safe travels. Hope the alternator works and you don't have to jump the truck.

Gotta run. I think I'm going to make some cookies maybe. Have a great day.

Well, we talked to our SIL last night and Norm's brother is still in really bad shape. However, now they are giving her some hope that he will survive. She found out this was an experimental chemo treatment. They told her once he is doing better, they can try something else. She isn't having it. She said if they can get him back from the edge of death, he will take his chances and live out his life without. He still can't even lift his head so it will be a long time coming back!

It is another cool day and overcast but tomorrow our sun should return.

PJ - I hope Frank can get the truck running smoothly. If anyone can, Frank will do it. I thought Norm was the only one that brought everything with him. More people come to borrow stuff that they don't have with them.

Our movie last night was Deepwater Horizon w/Mark Walhburg, Kurt Russell and Kate Hudson. It was another intense movie but good.

WG - I am sure your kids were upset that their father didn't alert them to their uncles death. It is a shame but I'm glad they found out before the service.

Tammy - I hope your DS finds a new job to her liking quickly. I feel sorry for people working that don't care for their job. I did it though many times. And best wishes on caring for your mother. It is difficult to be so far away when she is so dependent on someone's help. Most days I enjoy all the activities here at our park but I always look forward to Friday as that is a FREE day with no activities (usually).

Hi, Seesters!

Safe travels tomorrow, PJ, and here's betting that Frank can fix the problem. Is your new park close to Mesquite?

I think your day sounded wonderful, SS. So much fun stuff to do or not, as you wish. I am glad you enjoyed Brian Arnold and Cody Dooley. I've heard them both, more than once emoticon

WG, actions alway speak more than words, don't they? I just shake my head [to myself, of course] at some of the things I see/observe in situations with my ex to this day and we've been divorced over 30 years. LOL

Thank you all for your suggestions re my mom. We are STILL trying to get some home services arranged through the state, as she does qualify. It's a learning process, for sure.

Monday is a federal holiday, so there will be no class. I won't see my students again until Wednesday. Some are having the awakening that they need to do things differently after they have taken the first exam. I rescheduled this Thursday's dr appointment [mom] for Monday afternoon after she requested I see if I could. It's supposed to be fairly cold Thursday and Monday is to be much nicer. She had a few days that she sounded more chipper, but yesterday she didn't. That's to be expected, I suppose. I do notice that I'm much more anxious about the situation when she's not as chipper.

Youngest DS works at the Springfield Bass Pro warehouse. She was not happy to have another short week as far as hours are concerned, and yet they all got to observe the new Bass Pro Nascar. She sure liked the free concerts last fall, etc, but she is pretty disillusioned right now and she just texted all this and said she was going to be looking for another job. She drives a little under an hour each way, so a closer job would be nice.

Boy has the weather changed We had mid 90s over the weekend and yesterday it was a high of 57. Still windy and cloudy today.

We spent yesterday going to town for groceries. Today it is packup day and leave in the morning. There is one hitch the truck is acting up DH went to town to get an alternator and hopefully that will fix the problem. The batteries aren't charging so we did get a portable charger yesterday as well just in case but always good to have on hand.

We spent yesterday going to town and getting groceries and a Walmart run. Today is packing up to leave in the morning. We ran into a truck problem yesterday the batteries aren't charging. We bought a portable battery charger just in case and always good to have on hand. Today Frank decided to go and buy an alternator hoping that is the problem.

He is back from town now and I have fingers crossed that the truck can be fixed. He brings any kind of tool he would need with us.

I will be glad to get to Powell Park on Friday even though it is always cooler and wetter there.

Hi everyone. House is pretty quiet right now. The Dinosaur came home from school. He messed his pants again. He does this from time to time. He is sad a lot of the time. He is getting a mental health afternoon and is watching TV.

SS, so glad you got to see one of your favorite performers. I hope dinner is fun tonight. It sounds like an enjoyable time.

My kids have been upset for the past week. My ex BIL died ten days ago. I found out because I follow a SIL on FB. Some of the kids figured it out from that although only two sons and one daughter have accounts, their spouses do. I didn't tell anyone as it was my ex's job and I didn't want to overstep. One of the kids didn't find out until Sunday, 8 days later. The service will be held this weekend so it isn't a huge deal but they were hurt that their dad didn't feel they were important enough to tell.

He gave some excuse (my son said) about being overwrought and upset and unable to tell them. Since he didn't visit his brother in the nursing home he passed by on the way home from work, I'm not sure he would be that upset. I've never seen him upset over someone dying.

Just saying.

Other than that, I've been removing the rugs one or two at a time and washing them. I am putting them up until the dog is done with this business. I have a steam mop so the floor is cleaner than the rugs. I've still got a few rugs to clear up.

Have a great day. It's almost time to get the youngest one

Oh Boy! Yesterday it was so humid and high of 85! A/C run in the MH. This morning we woke up cold and temp was 43! Only topping out mid 50's today. Quite the difference but Feb is the worst winter month here so it is almost expected!

Last night we had Brian Arnold for entertainment. Those by Branson probably know him. He played and sang there for years. Now he is Semi Retired and travels around doing shows. As a child in an accident his father ran over him with a mower and he lost a leg. Then in the 90's, he was involved in another accident which broke his neck and paralyzed his right arm! Many would not have lived through the accident but he did and now does an amazing show.

Today is our Ladies Tea. After that we have plans to go to a Mexican restaurant with our friends. It's the one we went to for our Ladies Lunch Out and want to take our hubby's to enjoy.

We just got a call from my SIL. It seems Norm's oldest brother is in the hospital and is going downshill fast. He has cancer and has been having chemo. Over the weekend he went downhill fast. He is not in a comma but can't do anything. They even have to lift his head for him to sip water. Poor Kay is just so destraught and we feel very helpless as there isn't much we can do down here but pray. Of course, she thinks he's dying but she is scared (and rightly so). So please keep Norm's brother Ron in your thoughts and prayers. We may be making a quick trip home.

Hi Seesters. A little cooler and grey after a sunny weekend. The dog enjoyed the time outside which was fun for him but since I don't leave him, I spent a lot of time outside that I needed to be elsewhere.

DD got a break over the weekend by sending Luke Dogwalker to my son. DS is good with things like that although his dog wasn't too happy. DD got a couple of uninterrupted nights of sleep and some household stuff done and she had a chance to figure out how to make this work. She picked up the dog last night and is ready to be a dog mom again. She is going to carve out more time for her and perhaps as the dog gets bigger, it won't be as hard and he will sleep better. I just hope she can enjoy having a dog. I think hers will be 10 pounds bigger than mine just because he is growing faster and is quite a bit larger.

SS, glad you got to spend some time at the ocean. I love the ocean and always feel renewed when I go there even if it isn't exactly the place I want to see. When I lived on the Gulf Coast, I was about half a block from the beach. Although I'm not a sun worshiper, I enjoyed sitting in the sand watching the water and feeling the breeze. It was just nice. Especially for a mountain girl like me.

I hope Norm softens his heart about his brother. Some things are said in times of pain and grief that aren't something he would say normally and may not have meant. It is sad at their ages to miss that opportunity to share memories with someone who knew them as children and share those memories. When that is gone, it is impossible to get back.

Tammy, have you thought about having the pharmacist put the pills in pouches or something so your mom can take them on time. I know Amazon has this service but most pharmacies, especially the mail order ones have it as well. There are also pill dispensers with alarms that will dispense pills at different times but I think they have to be loaded more frequently.

LG, hope you are enjoying a respite from the games although I'm sure you miss seeing the grands as much when you aren't going every week to a game or so.

Gotta go. Puppy is asking for attention. I had to put him in his crate for a while today while picking up DD. She was in England last week and was supposed to come home yesterday but her flight got canceled due tot he winds at Heathrow. She got out today and I picked her up.

Have a great day

Good Morning It is another windy day here. I only got about 2-3 hours of sleep last night so a little grouchy. Keeping my mouth shut as I could easily snap and be hateful. We did try flying the kite yesterday. Frank did better than I did and I did post a video on FB. No pictures of me as he had to help me and I still mostly crashed it into the ground. But I will keep trying until I get it. It may have been too windy yesterday also. Hopefully before we leave here on Friday we will get a day that is not quite as windy to try again.

Hi to all!

After our busy fun filled day yesterday, we are just watching TV and relaxing today. I am going to make a pork steak for lunch. My friend just brought over a kidney bean salad she made. They love it and I've never heard of it so she wants us to sample it. To be honest, it doesn't sound very good to me but I will try it. It may be better than I expect.

Today it is overcast and windy but temps are in the 70's so it's not miserable.

Norm's brother called me this morning to apologize for his action and words that he said at my SIL's funeral. We haven't spoken to him since. I said I would try to put it behind me but I'm not sure Norm will. He left the room when I was speaking with Terry on speaker and he hasn't even asked me about the call.

LG - I imagine you enjoy the break from sports but you'll be ready come spring to enjoy the games again! Are you happy that you are working at the store? I know it is busier and more hours than you originally thought. I some times think I woulde enjoy working part time again but Norm won't hear of it because of our winters away!

WG - I hope things are going better with the new puppies. It is quite the undertaking to train puppies. That's why a lot of people chose to adopt rescue dogs that already have some training. Norm wouldn't hear of that. He wanted as young a puppy as he could get before they develop any bad habits. HaHa! Nala continues to bark and he just can't break her of it. Some times I think she's nervous from us trying to get her to stop. Thankfully, she's a little dog and has a smaller bark than some dogs here in the park.

I think we have your weather here, WG! Itís cold, grey, and miserable! Glad to hear that you are progressing with the dog. A friend of mine got an old playpen & put the dog in that for a while. Donít know where she found it. Itís too bad that your DD is discouraged with her dog. It takes time.

Tammy, my heart aches for you as Iíve been where you are now. I didnít get much help either.

SS, Iím loving the pics on Facebook.

We are keeping busy at the store. Sports for the grandkids are over until the end of March when Carmen starts softball. Brooke is settling back into her classes and Luke will be playing soccer soon.

Have a great day!

Hi Seesters. It is gray and rainy today. A much better alternative than the cold we had been having. Much better to take the dog out in at 2 and 4 am.

I've got the dog on a leash all the time he is out of the crate and we are working on signals and behaviors. it is hard for both of us but hopefully will turn out a good dog. I think my DS and DD did a lot of this with my last dog. We'll work it out and hopefully in the next month will be doing much better.

DD is discouraged with her dog and has come to my house in tears a few times. She is tired and stressed and a perfectionist so this is a challenge. Lucky for her, DS loves the dog and would have picked him so they are going to "dog share" for a while and see if things get better. DS will get the dog this weekend and keep him for the weekend and maybe for a month or so and see if things improve as the dog ages and is less difficult. Then we'll see. I think she would enjoy the dog but she is very much a perfectionist so it is a struggle for her.

Tammy, I'm glad you are getting help for your mom. What a challenge it is for all of you. It sounds like you and your sister are working things out. Hopefully your mom will improve in some way so she ben feel a lot better.

I'm sorry your DIL lost her mom. It is hard when there is family drama as well. I'm glad your kids are taking care of it and doing OK.

Happy Birthday to Cocoa. I hope things settle down as 2 years seems to be the magic age.

SS, glad you got a girls day out. It is nice that they could move closer to your MH. I know that it won't be long before the dog doesn't need to go out 4 times a night. It is like having a baby. They do learn to sleep through the night and most of mine did much earlier than my sister's did. I always attribute it to letting them figure it out and not having a schedule.

Gotta go. Alarm just rang and I've got to take the dog out. Then the grands will be home and really don't know how to play with dogs. The other grands are good about respecting space and not exciting the dog but these just struggle. Then they are afraid and dance around trying to get away which excites the dog more. It's a challenge.

Have a great day.

Good Morning!
We have another beautiful day and yesterday was also nice. After such a cold and windy day it is welcome. But next week we will have a lot of rain! So we need to enjoy it while we can.

Yesterday I went with three other ladies up to the town of Victoria. One of the ladies spent the last three winters at a park there so she is very familiar. We really didn't have any reason other than we felt we needed a Girls Day. We had a really nice time. Sandi wanted to go to her favorite restaurant for lunch (Joe's Pizzeria) so we expected a small pizza joint. To our surprise it was like an Olive Garden or Johnny Carino's. A very nice Italian restaurant. We split a pizza and each had a house salad.

When we got back to the park, we were surprised to see a couple different RV's changed sites. Our neighbors left (they bought a pit bull and were asked to leave) as that breed is not allowed in our park. So that started a game of musical chairs. One couple wanted their site and then another wanted the site they moved from. It was comical as one RV leaving prompted so many shifts in the park.

Tammy - I am so sorry for what you are dealing with. Caring for our older parents is stressful. But I would love to have our parents back now that they have passed so enjoy your mom while you can. I am relieved you have siblings to help.

WG - I hope the puppy training is coming along! Nala woke me this morning as she needed to go out and relieve herself. Usually, she patiently waits for me to wake up and get dressed but not this morning! At least she woke me up and didn't have an accident inside! There will be the day, your dog will do the same.

Hi, Seesters!

WG, I love the name and the fact that both you and your DD have puppies emoticon DS's dog is kind of anti-social, so the only dogs that Cocoa sees is at daycare - and they run and bark there. It's good with her level of energy with we old people at home. She turns two on Monday. We THINK/HOPE we are seeing her calm down a bit.

We had some wintry weather, but not what was predicted, thank goodness. My DIL's mother very unexpectedly passed away at approximately age 50 Sunday evening, and it's about an hour drive for DS and DIL for all the arrangements, etc that must be made. There had been an ugly divorce/remarriage when DIL was in middle school and I am so thankful that DIL and her DB had made peace with all that, especially in the past few years. There are several hard things in the situation, so it has been a hard week.

I went to take my mom to a regular dr visit on Tuesday and ended up taking her to the ER instead. Fortunately, it was nothing more serious than hemmhoroids [sp?]. We already walk a very fine line with her pretty bad congestive heart failure and kidney function which is so very close to dialysis. She doesn't get around well due to very bad arthritis. We are to the point that my DS and BIL that live near are taking her dinner in the evening and checking with her about things she may need/want from town. I am taking her to all dr appointments, and I spent some time this morning coordinating that after cancellations from weather concerns. We are getting some in-home help, hopefully with my niece who works in that field. I know phone calls have been made and paperwork sent in. We are trying to keep her as independent as we can for as long as we can. If anyone has any suggestions as to how to manage her many scripts, I would welcome suggestions. We have set up a pill organizer that has four compartments per day, but she is not really happy with that because she says some meds she needs to take separately. We know she was missing doses before. I will discuss the issue with a pharmacist here in town before I buy more organizers.

School was cancelled yesterday - the first time - so I have "missed" a day in my head. Two of my classes would have had exams, so I suspect they were happy.

Hello to all...I so enjoy coming here and reading what everyone is doing.

My name is Tammy and I live in SW Missouri.

Hi Seesters. Had an OK day with the dog. He is a "work in progress" and is challenging. He needs a bath again but it was too cold outside for that so he stinks. I need to wash several rugs but am grateful the dog doesn't do his business on the hardwood floor.

DS has an inflamed bowel and it is 2 feet longer than normal. It may not be anything but it might explain why his kids have a problem with constipation. They did biopsies so hopefully he doesn't have anything major. He is in good hands with his wife, though, so he can plan on healing with time. He's still miserable and the kids shared colds again which means his asthma is bothering him as well.

Gotta go. Dog is loose in the main room. I don't trust him but did't want to bring him into the office at this point. Tomorrow is early day for the kids. It is parent teacher conference. The kids will go to that with their parents but will be home early and the pick up for the littles is earlier as well. Hopefully all will go well.

Have a great day.

Good Evening!
A typical Monday today. I did exercise and yoga this morning. Then one of our friends came back last night so she stopped over to visit. After lunch I worked on our bills and paperwork. The weather was nice but in the last couple hours it became overcast and it even spit rain for awhile. Right during our gathering so no one sat out today!

The SuperBowl Party was nice last night. Only one couple that attended wanted the 49er's to win. A lot of people were against them just because they are from CA. Sad! But to be honest, I don't even watch much football but I am familiar with Patrick Mahomes and like him so I was hoping they would win. I enjoyed (mostly) the Half Time Show but I must admit the crotch shots were not to my liking especially for a family friendly show.

PJ - nice to know you are back home but sorry we didn't get to hook up. This was a really busy weekend here at the park so I understand. I'm glad you got to watch the game. Last year we had a crawfish boil and it wasn't attended as well. Too many people don't care for crawfish but the shrimp boil was great and it wasn't over seasoned like I feared.

LG - you described the half time show perfectly, Soft Porn. I did like when Emme joined JLo but I kinda felt the dig about separating the kids was directed against Trump when it's an Obama regulation. I just don't care for them to use their platform for politics. With all the impeachment stuff going on, I'm sick of politics!

WG - I hope all the tests for DS#3 go good and they can figure out what is going on. We talked to our kids this weekend and C&Z have both decided not to have Lasik surgery after all. At their appointment they were give contacts to wear which is what there eyesight would be after the surgery. They both found that they will still need reading glasses so don't feel it is worth it if they still have to use glasses.

We are back now at our campsite and glad to be able to sleep in our own bed again. Had a great time and the Kite Fest was amazing. We did buy a two string cart to see if we can learn how to fly it.

I love to eat out but 3 days in a row it gets old fast and not very healthy either. Bought groceries on the way home and stopped and picked up our mail.

WG love the name Spook and such a beautful boy he is. Hope all comes out ok with DS.

Sharon we have had crawfish a couple of times. Its ok but can get too spicy for my taste.

LG the game was definitely a touch and go affair until the last quarter but we managed to pull it off Wishing we were home to see all the local coverage but that was part of the reason we took off for our weekend so we could watch the game on TV. We don't get local channels in the trailer

So glad we donít have snow. In fact, it is 66 here today! Iím enjoying it.

We stayed up to watch the game and it didnít disappoint! So happy for KC! Just was a bit disappointed in the half time show. Looked like soft porn to me but Iím an old lady! What do I know!

Tomorrow is back to work. Have a good one!

Hi Seesters. It is snowy here. I've got a generous 6 inches and it is light and fluffy. It is beautiful. Especially since I don't have to go out today.

The puppy is settling down and I am getting more rest. I wish the weather was better. The dog is more likely to go out when he doesn't have to wade through snow higher than he is.

LG, good for you cleaning out the sewing room. It's on my list as well. It sounds like you have the spring cleaning bug already. I'm glad Sharyn's email problems are over for now. It is so easy to hack everything.

SS, the shrimp bowl looks great. I'd love to be there.

Last night I had two kids going out of town, one who was sick and DD with her dog who was stressed. Oldest DS had dinner with his in laws so it was just DS#2. We had a great dinner with salmon caught in Alaska and good sides. I heard from the kids early enough that I could plan something else, hence the salmon. We played cards while watching the show and they left early. Oldest DS came by and we visited for a while. It was a quiet evening. I enjoyed it as well.

Today DS #3 is having some scopes done. He has had stomach pain a while and they are looking for cause. His wife is with him so he is in good hands. Ii guess she'll be picking up the kids after school.

Have a great day.

Good Morning!

Another beautiful day here. Last night we had our Shrimp Boil, followed by an evening of entertainment by Cody Dooley. He is a great entertainer from Branson. He was here last year and we wanted him to come back!

Those of you on FB saw how well Norm and his students made out at the Woodcarving Show. Everyone that entered won 1st Place ribbons. It makes me realize that all those hours Norm spends at the clubhouse, he's really teaching and not just working on his own carving!

This afternoon we have to go back and pick up his carvings and then head back to the park for our SuperBowl Party. I could care less about the game but the commercials will be fun and lots of snack foods!

LG - it is a lot of work cleaning out closets and rooms but it feels so good when it's done.

WG - how is the puppy training coming along with Spock? We were lucky as it was really nice weather when we got Nala so we didn't mind taking her out and we had very few accidents before she caught on.

WG, Spock is so cute! I think Thomas needs a dog but he doesnít want to be tied down. I think they are great companions.

Sharon, your parties are awesome! Congratulations to Norm on his wood carvings!

PJ, I know you are enjoying your time in Texas.

Tammy, not many weeks & itíll be spring break for you. I know Brooke is already planning what she wants to do.

Weíve been very busy with cleaning out closets. Now we are working on my sewing room. Jason came down Friday night and we moved a cabinet out. So happy to have that gone! Took 5 large garbage bags to SVDP. Old patterns, fabric I know I wonít use & other stuff! I still have 2 bags to get out. Then I need to go thru stuff on the shelves! How do we accumulate all this stuff? Iím over all of it!

I think weíve got Sharynnís email straightened out. At least I hope so! What a mess!

We will watch the Super Bowl but no snacks!

Have a great day!

Thanks for your kind words. DD stopped by today with her dog. The brothers played and wrestled and growled and explored together. It was fun and a little hectic. Hopefully the puppies will have a long nap this afternoon.

Got food for the Superbowl tomorrow. It is not a big thing for most of my kids but they enjoy the commercials. I'd just as soon watch Groundhog day. But we'll watch and the kids and I may play some games in the other area.

Have a great day.

Gosh, WG - look how that little puppy is changing your life already! It's always fun to have a puppy around. Spock is a very lucky puppy to be taken in by you. He will be a friend to you when you are alone but he will have lots of activity when the kids and grands are around.

Norm got his carvings registered today for the Woodcarving Show this weekend. It is going to be a very busy weekend with the show. We are having our annual Shrimp Boil tomorrow night and then the big SuperBowl Party on Sunday.

Hi Seesters. It is still busy with dog. "we" are up about 6 and go down after 10. He naps several times a day and even dropped and slept in the middle of the walkway yesterday afternoon so everyone had to walk around him. Surprising how long he could sleep with all that racket.

Yes, SS, he is a male. We have a tradition of naming the dogs after Star Trek characters. Interestingly, they live up to their namesakes. This one will be Spock. It is fun for the kids. Lightning, the 3 year old calls him "Pock" so the name works. Hamish calls his dog "Spock" but he is "Luke Dogwalker" so he will adjust.

Tammy, I'm glad your DH is feeling better so he can do things again. Being able to move is a huge part of quality of life. Hope your caring duties are not too difficult since I know you really want to help but sometimes get overwhelmed. The idea is to have a good balance so you can enjoy other things.

Gotta go. DD is bring her dog and her kids so I can enjoy them. DS may stop by and play with the dog. He loves to be with dogs.

Have a great day.

Morning!

I finally was able to get a decent hair cut yesterday. I have given up on getting a decent cut at the Great Clips down here. So I bit the bullet and paid the higher price to go to a salon and it shows!

Overcast day and cooler (60's) with no plans for the day so we'll see what develops.

WG - I see you are using the masculine pronouns so I'm assuming your new puppy is a male. I hope you enjoy your new housemate! I am glad to see you are going to crate train him. That's the best way IMHO! Plus, it's wonderful to be able to leave them home during their chewing stage and not worry about them chewing up your couch!

Hi Seesters. It is snowy here which is OK but I'd rather it be a clear day. Should be better by the weekend.

Well, Seesters, I probably need to have my head examined but I got another dog. Not just any dog but one who is barely weaned and not potty trained. He is very cute and isn't supposed to shed but this is a lot of work. DD and I have been talking about getting a dog and she wanted to have siblings so the dogs could play. So she has one and I have one.

It is like having a baby two months early. I had nothing for him. My last dog had a lot of stuff but I have donated or purged it all. I need to start with smaller stuff anyway. This dog should be no more than 30 pounds but is a medium size dog. Mom is a border collie like my last dog and father is a golden doodle.

Shipment from the "Smile" store arriving tomorrow except for pee pads which are coming today. Hopefully I won't need those long. At three months and warmer weather, things should improve. I have bought several travel crates over the years and I borrowed one back from DS. I have dishes enough for food and water and fashioned a harness out of a strip of fabric and attached a length of cord to it. We'll survive.

The lady who had the dogs gave me a large (36 pound) bag of puppy chow and I split it with DD. I have enough for a long time.

Tammy, glad you are enjoying school. I know you are in a busy season of your life. It is hard to keep everything in the air so I'm glad you are here when you can be.

Everyone, have a great day. I'm off to hold the dog.

Hi, Seesters,

I've not had lots of time to post, but do enjoy keeping up via iPhone.

The semester has begun, and I've been busy with teacher duties, daughter duties, wife/mother/grandmother and Crazy Cocoa duties...😏 I'm not complaining, but would like to be more reflective.

Hello to all...

HI Seesters. It has been a busy few days. Today is quiet and peaceful and the sun is shining. I love that I don't seem to suffer from the seasonal stuff any more but I am able to get outside enough that I don't seem to be bothered. I do wear sunglasses but that doesn't seem to change things. I get enough light in the house that I'm fine.

SS, glad you got time with your group of friends at your afternoon gathering. I'm glad you are settling down and feel better. That was a rocky start to your stay.

I have a NInja air fryer. I had another one in my cart but I really like my other Ninja stuff so I got it. It has worked great. It cooks a little hot, though and I have to cut a few minutes off anything I make. Did Salmon yesterday and it was wonderful. I'm doing crispy green beans today. Hopefully it will be good as well.

LG, glad Thomas feels better. It is hard to hurt. Hope Sharyn's new email account works better. It's so sad that someone has to be so dumb and mean.

PJ, I hope the new site works out well. And you get to take your trip. It seems like you have such fun on your winter camping.

Have a great day. I'm off to eat lunch.

Another day come and gone. It was nice weather. It was foggy this morning but by noon the sun burned it off. Sunday afternoon was laid back and a lot of people were home so we had a nice group of people gather at our place this afternoon. Where anyone is outside, others gather. Nala loves being outside with all the people.

Now we are settled inside for the night. Norm is talking to Casey on the phone while I'm on the computer. I'm sort of listening to their conversation too.

PJ - glad you are moved and can settle in at your new site. Corpus Christi is a nice big city but we don't go very often. What do you hope to do there? The south side and the road over to North Padre Island is beautiful to me but the main city is so busy with traffic that I won't drive in it.

LG - sorry about the email hack for Sharynn's account but sounds like you got it all figured out. I am glad Thomas is feeling better from the shot. Norm has walked completely around our park the last three mornings which is about 1/2 to 3/4 miles without his cane. He is feeling like he is finally getting better! Let me know what brand Rachel's air fryer is. I looked up the Ninja and there are so many different models, I'm still lost.

We got moved to our new campsite One site over from the last one. The view of the lake isn't as good but at least we don't have to move again before going to our next destination. T We leave here on Feb 13 and will arrive at Lake Sam Rayburn on the 14.

We want to take a couple of days to drive to Corpus Christi but so far the weather doesn't look to be warm and dry enough to do that. So we just play it by ear and see.

I have been doing the usual to keep busy. Taking a few days off from walking here and there.

LG so glad to hear the shots are working for Thomas Jay.

Thomas got the shots in his back and seems to be doing better.

Iím planning to clean out my sewing room today. But Iím still doing laundry.

Sharon, Rachel has an air fryer and she loves it.

Good Afternoon!

I just got back from Ladies Lunch Out! We went to The Pink Octopus! We all loved it. Another local restaurant. I got 1/2 Sandwich w/Kettle Chips and one trip to the Salad Bar. At least I got my veggies in for the day.

After our rain yesterday, we have a beautiful day today. Sunny. blue skies and 78 degrees.

Last night at Bingo, neither Norm nor I won any games. However, Norm won the 50/50 drawing and that was $75. So that was the better pot to win!

Still on the fence about an air fryer. We just had a big discussion at lunch and everyone that has them, really likes them. The majority say get the Ninja and you can't go wrong.

WG - what brand do you have?

Hi Seesters. It is raining here and that is always nicer than snow.

LG, I saw your post on FB about the talk/lectures. It sounds wonderful. I love to hear the stories about the places I have lived and collect the history. I'm glad the kids came.

Glad Thomas is doing better with his back. There are a lot of things that can be done to help a painful back. Glad he found one.

The boxing class sounds fun. It is a good workout for sure. I remember my dad watching boxing when I was a kid. It requires a lot of fitness. My ex DIL loved doing it. She felt so much stronger for doing it.

My air fryer arrived last night. I played with it a little but won't really "cook" in it until after tomorrow. I hate to get involved when the grands are here. They aren't patient. I cooked nuggets today and Miss M loved them but Enterprise doesn't do any food changes at all well. He gagged one down and I'm dampening the outsides of the nuggets with a damp paper towel so they won't be crispy. I'll then heat them in the toaster oven and he should be OK.
Apparently I'll have to cook their nuggets separately next time.

Got to get going and take laundry out and do a bit of cleaning. I'd like to make something fun for dinner so I'll visit later.

PJ, love the critters! Glad you keep busy.

WG, you have the best parties!

Judy, thatís a very long day. I wouldnít do well with that for sure!

Sharon, you find great bargains!

Iím off today as Thomas had a back procedure done to help with pain. Heís doing fine for now.

He gave a talk on Sunday about our county & the railroads that were here years ago. The kids came & stayed for supper. We had a very nice visit. I did lots of laundry yesterday but didnít do the ironing.

I have joined a fitness class.....cardio boxing! Went yesterday afternoon with a friend. I really liked the class and the gal who teaches it. And it was a very good workout. Itís aerobics, boxing, weights, and floor exercises combined.

Hi Seesters. Cool here and more snow by tomorrow. Hopefully done by Thursday. I need to go to the eye doctor. I have had this one and he is an optometrist but I like him. He keeps trying to get me to buy new products, though. I need to get a prescription for eye drops for my mail order. New year, new plan.

I'm seeing more changes in my vision and am frustrated but it isn't bad enough to take care of it. I worry as well because my mom's macular degeneration got worse after her cataract surgery. I know mentally that it wasn't the cause but I can't help but think.

Yesterday was very quiet. I was able to watch a couple of movies and work on some projects. The house is clean and I should have done laundry but didn't want to. I'll have to today and tomorrow.

Today is kid day again. I'm driving there and picking up Miss M. I think there's only a couple of weeks left and the play will be done and the grands will be walking home every day. Hope so for sure.

Have a great day.

Good Morning!

Another beautiful day here but tomorrow is 100% rain. The weatherman said we are all going to get wet! So if not too bad, Norm and I will use the day to go see a movie.

Yesterday, one of the ladies wanted to go across the ferry to the island and invited me to go with her so she wasn't alone. So off we went! We went in several souvenir stores. I bought a necklace and earrings. They had bling T-shirts for $19.99 but if you bought one, you got one free! I didn't need another T-shirt but we each picked out our favorite and split the cost. A nice bling T-shirt for $10. I couldn't say NO.

Judy - I hate to be in the MH when it's windy. It is not good for high profile vehicles. So be very careful!

PJ - your critters are so cute. Your talents know no limits!

PJ love the critters!

It's back to work today. Saturday was so long. Left at 4 a.m. and got home around 8:30 p.m. The wind in the morning was terrible and the bus I was driving was all over the road, good thing that early in the morning there is no traffic. The last couple of days I goofed off. Now I will have to pay for that, LOL.

Time to get moving, y'all take care.

Hello Seesters!
Just getting on SP as I am busy on Monday's and Wednesday's with my Exercise & Yoga class. Today we walked 2 miles and 30 minutes of Chair Yoga. So I have m exercise in for today!

I am waiting for Norm to finish his woodcarving class before I decide what we are doing the rest of the day.

Yesterday was busy from football games, corn hole tournaments, and the Chili or Chowder Cook Off. Norm's did not win but I suspect we will have Chili for lunch today. Then I will put the rest in individual containers and freeze. We had 9 huge pots of chili and 5 huge pots of chowder so everyone took home leftovers. Those that did not participate in the Cook Off brought dishes for the pot luck after. Lots of cornbread! And several desserts!

Saturday we went to the Rockport Market Days (a large outdoor flea market) with our friends and then out for lunch.

One of our friends that stayed here last year, stopped in and stayed overnight before heading on to Harlingen for the rest of the winter. Harlingen is further south in the Rio Grande Valley. It was nice to see and visit with them. They got a Pomsky puppie which is a cross between a Pomperian and Siberian Husky. It is beautiful, all white and about 10 lbs. It's only 10 months old so it will grow a couple more pounds.

WG - your celebration of the Chinese New Year sounds fun. With the party over, now you can enjoy a quiet day. I'm glad you are feeling back to yourself again!

Hi Seesters. Another Monday. I have a quiet home because it is a holiday. It is nice for sure.

Dinner last night was Chinese New Year as the kids will be gone next weekend. It was fun. One DIL brought Ramen noodles so the kids could eat something. They were good about that.

We had some delicious food and it was fun. I even had a lot of veggies. Unfortunately, I've been eating more than I want to so I've got to get back on track. I made some cauliflower fried rice I'll eat for lunch today. I'm excited to be myself again. Maybe being hungry had more to do with eating too much.

Hope all are having a good day.

Hi Seesters. It snowed last night. There was a fuss about starting school late and commuters were allowed to show up late. DIL was supposed to go to school for end of term grades. She had an accident two years ago this weekend and totaled her car. She is a little leery of snow storms and the date. She was allowed to go early as well.

Got 6 grands here and it has been more peaceful than usual. The cousins entertain each other so it is fun. And I have Disney + so the kids are watching something on that. I think two of them will go home soon and the others later today as their dad was in court all week and has been working late.

Their other mom came and got them last night. We had a fun text "chat" after she got home. She gets frustrated with the kids and likes to know it isn't her but the kids who are being dumb. There are a lot of little things she really didn't encounter before in her life. Her niece and nephews are a bit better as children as the families are smaller and parents more helicopter. These kids were left to their own devices a lot. And their mom's family did a lot of interesting things like having belch contests at the table and drinking out of milk cartons. There is no way to be prepared for some of that.

PJ, I wonder if it is just an age thing, this sleeping thing. I used to be able to sleep in all morning if I felt like I needed it. Now I'm waking at 4-5 most days even if I didn't get to bed early enough to be happy. I did well with it for a while but since Christmas have been crashing earlier in the day.

SS, I agree about going to a different store. I have two WMs within 15 minutes of my house. I usally go to the one closest but the other one is much nicer. Better town and clientele as well as newer. I have got some good deals there.

Tonight will probably be the two 5 year olds as they need to have a sleepover before I have someone else. I am trying to have someone every week or so. I know my kids loved their time with my mom. Their other grandmother was older and not well for many of them's childhood so they couldn't have fun. It has been fun for these to spend some time together and make memories.

Have a great day. I'm off to grandmother again.

We got rain this morning. I was in shorts yesterday afternoon now back to fall clothes. He doesn't have much to do he does get his magazines when our mail is sent to us once he has those read he plays computer games and watches and drives me crazy LOL As for me I can keep busy with my yarn and reading.

Sounds like our yucky weather here is to last a few days.. They really needed the rain here and it has been warmer than last year so far.

Morning!

We are having another beautiful day but we are told that come Monday we have a cold front moving in which will drop our high temps into the 50's and 50% chance of rain. Then we should get back to the 70's once again.

This Sunday is our Chili and Chowder Cook Off so we need to run to the grocery store to get the ingredients for Norm's chili. I think we'll go down the road to Aransas Pass as their store is a bigger WalMart and to be honest, as often as we shop at WM, it's some times nice to go to a different store!

PJ - Norm just came in the MH and said it's time to change his jeans for shorts! That doesn't happen very often. It's always breezy here but I'm getting used to that. What does Frank do on the days it is too windy to fish?

Another windy non fishing day. Sounds like there is a chance of rain all next week. We did go to the Flea Mkt yesterday. I got all the vanilla that family ordered, found a couple of small kitchen gadgets as well as a long sleeve denim (only $5). So it was a successful day for us.

Got my walk in the last 2 mornings back on track again after taking about 4 days off from walking. Not sleeping well about every 3-4 nights I seem to get a decent nights sleep. I've tried to figure on why and what I can do but not very successful I do know I have to have a cool bedroom so the A/C is on and DH just throws on the blanket. Melatonin seemed to help for awhile but not much anymore and I really don't want to go to higher dosage as it would probably do the same thing wants my body adjusted or make me too groggy to function.

Spent the morning walking, doing my Sts, cutting up veggies and roasting some split brussel sprouts. (which I love DH hates and doesn't like the smell at all. Oh well he'll survive.

WG so glad to hear you are feeling better sleep make a world of difference. Good to hear the new family is in counseling. It should help all of them to adjust. They have been through a lot and the ready mother has a lot of adjusting to do too.

LG I'm with SS that lifting bolts of fabric would be a substitute for Sts I'm sure.

SS that sounds like a good plan to split your winter up. I'm sure Casey and family would love it if you spent the holiday with them.

Good Morning!
Norm has woodcarving this morning so I am by myself until noon! Nala and I enjoy our mornings together.

I did not win at Bingo last night but it was expected so I was fine with that.

If we want to come back to this same park, this same site, we need to book it by 2/15. After that, anyone can book our site. I think we will rebook our site for next year but we still haven't decided what we want to do. We have tossed around the idea of going to the Gulf Shore area. That's only 4 hrs from Casey's new home. We could stay there for Nov & Dec. Leave the RV there and run up to Casey's for Christmas. Then come back, pack up the RV and head to TX. We are still in the planning stages but it's a definite possibility. We haven't mentioned it to anyone, especially not Casey. We need to make a decision and book before we tell them. They were especially lonely their first Christmas in GA so I know they would be so excited.

LG - I think lifting all that fabric constitutes as strength training for sure!

WG - I am glad ou are feeling better. As a grandma, it's not good to feel yucky as you are the primary caretaker for several grand kids! I am glad the new family is going to counceling. It is quite the adjustment, not only for the kids but for the new mother as well. I really think the age is a big factor with the middle ones. I remember when our DD remarried, my GD was such a brat. And when DD got gregnant, she was impossible to live with. I'll never forget what a brat she was at the baby shower. Even so, DD insisted she be the first one to see and hold her new brother. Once they placed the baby in her arms, she was smitten. To this day, she is Tucker's second mother. They have a very special relationship!

HI Seesters. I've got Enterprise here now. He's excited to have books to read. He just started today with ones sent home from school. It's interesting to see the grands reading.

I am so glad to feel human again and sleep was the ticket. I did get a bit done since I couldn't stay still or I would be asleep. I did stay up long enough to watch the Jeopardy game. It was fun.

Judy, have fun driving.

Sharon, glad you got in the extra exercise. Hope you catch up with sleep as well.

Have a great day. I'm going to take a break before the grands come home. Their parents are going to counseling to help them cope and support each other in the transitioning of the family. They will bring the kids in later. Surprisingly, the oldest, a 14 year old boy is doing the best of all and Miss M who needs a mother so she is loving having that support. The middle ones are being awful and giving her a lot of trouble. But they gave me a bit as well. Might just be personality, but it won't hurt to get help.
