I知 enjoying reading all the posts.

WG, I知 sure you are excited about the wedding. I知 glad the kids seem to be adjusting.

SS, I haven稚 been outside since Monday. Thomas says it痴 awful. Carmen is playing in the USSAA Nationals in Evansville. So far, they are winning so they are still playing. But as a credit to the officials, most games are played early morning or later afternoon. Thomas can also work outside in this weather.

PJ, how cool to know an author! Be careful with this heat!

Tammy, it must be so hard for Joe taking so long to heal. I知 not a good patient & I get so frustrated with my progress. At this point, I was walking without my walker last year. Not so this year! I have a few ideas why too. So sorry about your former student.

Im doing my exercises just as I was told but not progressing like I feel I should be. I get so 電own & then I have to have a talk with myself! I want to be ready to go to Shipshewana!

Hi Seesters. It's been busy here today. Almost everyone has gone home, so I'm taking some me time. Spent the morning looking for MOG dress. She wants everyone to wear mauve or dusty pink dresses. Prefers lace. I've been looking and found some lighter pink things and can get away with them, so ordered some and will return the ones I don't want. They are doing photos outside after the wedding and that's about it. A lot of work for that. I guess we'll be wearing the dresses the night before for the open house, but not certain.

My other kids were more laid back about that. One DIL said to the girls, "find something you will wear again that is about this color." I loved some of the dresses I had. don't know if I'll wear this one again, but it's fine.

Enough of the wedding drama.

SS, I'm never fond of heat index. I'm just glad I don't live in AZ or Nevada. My brother and SIL had the power company run their thermostat and it would run 45 minutes out of every hour and would only cool to the high 80's. It was fans and water all around. At least here it is normally below 80 at night. Some people don't wilt in the heat. I'm glad Norm can be out and not be bothered.

PJ, I love that you work out with a published author. it seems like a fun person to know. The couple of published writers I've met tend to be very well rounded and interesting people. I loved reading their books and seeing where they got their ideas from.

That does seem like a miserable thing to do with a rock. I hope it looks good along the drive. What you you going to put in its place?

Tammy, I'm sorry your son is struggling with his problems. Isn't he seeing his GI doc for his Crohns? I hope the steroids help him. They should reduce the irritation and soothe things. Poor Joe. The procedure that should have helped causing problems makes it hard. I hope the other doctor can help. What a lot on your plate right now. It seems like you are holding everything together for everyone. That's so hard.

I'm sorry about your former student dying. What a sad day for you. 29 is too young to have that happen. That's a terrible way to die and so sad when one is young.

I've got to think about dinner. I don't know what the kids are in the mood for, but we might have waffles. We haven't had them in a long time. Their dad usually makes them but hasn't been eating much lately so he hasn't been cooking.

Have a great day.

Good Afternoon
Kind of a boring day here. The temps are in the 90's with high humidity for the next four days. That puts the heat index about 107. Because of that, they are warning us to keep our house's thermostat no less than 79. So even when you work inside, it gets warm quickky!

The heat doesn't seem to slow Norm down though. Right now he's helping our neighbor fix his a/c in his car.

Tammy - I sure hope the steroid Meds help your son. I am still struggling with my itching. I was really counting on my doctor so I feel your son's disappointment. So Joe is healing but he has red scarring. Is it a Keloid Scar? I have had to have scar revision surgery several times after the original surgery. In fact I was told never to have surgery on my face if at all possible .

WG - I am glad the photoshoot was fun for everyone. I hope they are happy with the pictures.

SEK - With all the heat, your DH must be miserable. I don't blame him for looking for different work.

PJ - It appears we were posting at the same time. I checked out the link and the books sound good. I will check them out on Amazon.

Tammy sorry to hear about your former student and Joe痴 slow healing. Hope it will continue to get better even if it is slow healing.

WG so glad to hear the picture session was a success. They are really working hard to make this new family work.

SEK sounds like you and Mike both need to get away from working for her.

LG glad you are home and feeling somewhat better. It will take time so just behave yourself and do what you are told.

I went to my yoga class this morning and found out we have an author in our class. Very interesting as she writes the type of books I like and has written several of them. Had no idea she even existed let alone living so close.

So I will definitely be checking on her books.

Frank has dug up the last rock he used for landscaping and replacing it with something different. Neither of us was happy with the first batch. So it will be used her and there in the driveway. Expensive for that but at least we can use it there.

Very hot and dry here now predicted for several days. Ugh Whoa we are getting a rain shower not sure where that came from but we will take it. And just like that it is over.

Hi, Seesters!

I am in for a trim today and then off to meet my BF for lunch. She has been gone in the summers the past few years; she would meet her brother and SIL and travel with them for six-eight weeks. Her brother and SIL are now done with that, so she stayed home this summer and will go out in the fall for a big trip. She is going to the Smokies, I think, and I'm pretty envious. I loved the Smokies. It will be nice to have a part of a day out to myself.

I had a former high school student that I knew pass away at age 29 on Sunday. I didn't know him well enough to know he had been battling a very aggressive form of brain cancer; he happened to pass on the tenth "anniversary" of my dad's passing. I had a double dose of sad for a few days, but I feel as if I have bounced back today.

We are in the midst of a heat advisory until Sunday afternoon. Maybe it is Saturday afternoon. It is a time to get things done early, for sure.

DS was given a steroid medication a week ago and then his PCP said he didn't know what to do if that didn't help. He was going to arrange an upper scope if it didn't help. I'm not certain it helped all that much, so we shall see what happens.

Joe went back to the dermatologist on Monday afternoon. His dr shared with him that in 19 years and 34K of these procedures that he had never had anyone have the difficulty healing that Joe did. He was not inclined to try any other procedures and neither was Joe. However, we will have an appointment to see someone with a laser in his office that will take some of the redness out to make the scarring less noticeable. Joe has a PCP visit in August, and I am curious what his blood work will show regarding sugar. He took a test here at home one day, but I think the blood work he has done shows what happens over three months or so.

Okay...hello to all...

Hi Seestes.

LG, I'm glad you are checking in. It's hard to recover and I know you will be yourself soon. How nice for Weezie1 to stop by to visit. The exercises are good for you and as active as you are, you will still have a relatively quick recovery. It's just hard to have that second knee done.

SEK, I don't blame you for not wanting to work for that woman. I hope you both find something better. Rehabbing old homes and apartments sounds miserable. I don't know how the economy is in your area, but there has to be something.

The pictures went well. It will be fun to see them. The place they wanted to take photos, a mountain field of wildflowers, doesn't open until tomorrow, so they went up the canyon to find a stand of quaking aspen. It will be nice to have the new family photos. The kids had a good time. Remembering my days with a new step parent, I'm grateful that the kids seem OK about it. I wasn't and it really never got better until he was dying.

Got to go. Lots to do. I think we might be sewing this afternoon.

LG hopefully the fog will lift soon. Just tell yourself it will all be over soon.

SS you can invite me, don't know how my time is, and I don't always get notices about having spark email, so I'll try and keep an eye out.

The next few days are supposed to be hot hot here, this will make the bus ride home soooo much fun.

Hubby is thinking of looking for a different part-time job, he's had just about enough of our boss, I should say his boss since I don't think I'll be working for her anytime soon. We shall see.

Y'all take care I need to move the sprinkler.

Hi Seesters
Not much going on here. Very hot and humid this week so staying inside.

LG - It takes time to even feel like yourself after surgery. Between pain meds and the anesthesia has to work out of your system.
Good luck dealing with the exercises. It was so nice that Weezie stopped to see you on her way to Sister camp.

WG - I am excited about your D'S and family's photo shoot. I hope it is fun and they get good pictures.

I have spent part of this afternoon working on a new Challenge for the RV team. Do any of you on this team want to get an invite?

I知 getting better with each day. The exercises are killing me. We are supposed to get some much needed rain today but hasn稚 happened.

Weezie1went to Georgia for sister camp & she & her sister, Peg stopped by to see me! I was thrilled! It was a short visit but very nice!

Hi Seesters. It is gloomy and cloudy and still in the 90's. They call it "monsoonal weather." I can do without that.

PJ, that's a lot of canning. I'm glad that you got your beans canned. That's a ton. One of my girlfriends uses all of her property to raise a garden. She has strawberries in the parking strip between the sidewalk and the street. She has been canning for weeks already. It is fun to see her and her grandkids canning their produce. She does everything from fruit and salsa to veggies. Very self sufficient.

LG, sorry you are having more pain and trouble sleeping. I hope it gets better soon. I know you don't "do sick" well and hope the recovery is quick. It's also hard to remember exactly how long it was before you were moving well as time has a way of compressing some things.

SEK, that sounds like a not fun thing. Hope the only critters in your house now are the ones you invited there.

New DIL is here. The kids are getting hair cuts and possibly some new clothes. She wants the photos to be good. She is having her SIL do the girls hair and the boys have to clean their pants or possibly get new ones. She got clothes for the girls. I think the pictures will be fun.

I've got some laundry I should do but want to get it done when I can put it outside. It's too hot to dry inside. I think I'll wait until Monday.

My sister said she can't find a doctor who seems to know what to do and she still doesn't have a firm diagnosis. Apparently it is a hard disease to diagnose.

Have a great day.

PJ good for you and you will enjoy later.

SS hope nothing else happens with the Kia.

Lg glad you are getting better and I'm sure you'll be up to your old self in no time.

WG I'm not a kid but sometimes I like to turn the music up and dance.

This afternoon is a do-nothing one, bug bombed the house this morning because there has been too many unwanted visitors lately. All the indoor critters were shut outside for 4 hours while we left, they were not happy till we got home then it was like we'd been gone for days.

Y'all enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Canned the last of the green beans this morning. Picked and pulled the plants up yesterday. Its always good when it is done. But I do still enjoy the fruits of our labor especially in the winter.

My arm from the Shingrex (2nd round of the new Shingles vaccination) is finally back to normal. Had the shot on Monday.

Sharon hoping your have no more issues with the Kia and that it was within the 30 days. Sharon you can do the weight loss. You know you can.

LG good to see you post and do so when you are feeling like it.

WG it is a man thing too for sure. Frank and I always fight over the volume. If I am out of the house and he is watching when I come in I usually have to turn it down. Or go to another room.

Morning!
I can't believe it but I am hoping some rain in our near future. We have been watering our yard as it was turning brown already! I think by the first of the week, we may see rain.

LG - good to see your post. I hope the recovery continues and your sleeping improves.

WG - I am not surprised the kiddies like loud movies. Most men do too. I'm not sure why. It sounds like your sister is doing much better.

When I went out to the Kia to take to my dr apt., it wouldn't start. Norm and I pushed it and popped the clutch to start it. We took it to the dealership and they replaced the starter solenoid. It was covered under the 30 day warranty. They put a new one in at no charge. Hopefully, we won't have any more issues. You never know buying a used car.

I took my Mustang to my appointment for my BP check. The dr called this afternoon and he did NOT put me on any new meds! He does want to see me again before we head out for the winter and he wants me to lose 5% of my weight which is about 15 lbs. So I will try!

Hello, Ladies!

I知 beginning to feel like a human again. I still have some pain but I知 getting past it. Doing as much exercise as I can stand! My biggest problem is concentrating on what is going on! I can focus for a while but then I get sleepy! Speaking of sleeping, I知 not sleeping good. Too uncomfortable.

Hi Roomies. Hotter than Hades here today. Hit 100 yesterday and will today. My car A/C isn't working very well so I feel the heat a bit more than I used to. I need to get to the garage and take care of it but that's something for next week.

The kids like loud movies like the Avenger and Transformer movies. I've been trying to stretch their viewing library. We were watching Psych yesterday and today but that will be over so it will be Chuck for binge watching. My kids liked Buffy the Vampire Slayer so I might borrow that one. I tend to be somewhere else for many of the things the kids like to watch. I'd like to get them to watch the musicals and really good movies from the past. We sometimes do but it is hard.

I remember when my youngest DS had his best friend come over the two boys would watch Pride and Prejudice together. My son had two older sisters so he spoke girl all his life and always was comfortable around them. This kid was the oldest of four boys. It was a good thing that my DS helped him understand because the friend has 3 daughters and no sons.

SEK, it has to be frustrating to have to fix up these apartments. It is miserable work. It's a lot like flipping a house. Too bad you can't do that. It would pay better in the long run.

SS, that's a lot of ice cream. I'm pretty picky any more about the ice cream I eat. I figure that I don't usually need the calories and often will pass totally on cake and/or ice cream. I do love some flavors but don't get them often.

Have three extras here today and Miss M has gone to see Fabio for the afternoon. It's a good exchange. The kids all get along most of the time.

My sister called today. They still don't have a firm diagnosis for her. She is doing well and has no symptoms. She's even back to the gym. I guess she has time to figure things out.

Have a great day.

SEK - We are also experiencing a nice cooler day in the 80's but all of next week is apposed to be in the 90's again with high humidity. So I agree with you, I am not going to like it.

We sure did pass out a lot of ice cream yesterday but it's a nice activity. The adults like it as much as the kids.

I had to go to the dr this morning for a blood pressure check as it was high at my last appointment. It was 140/80 this morning. I hope he doesn't put me on another med!

WG - I hope you are having a good day. What kind of movies do the kids watch?

SS Lots of ice cream but I'm sure it's a fun way to spend the time. I still work at the apartments in between driving the kids, you know there is no rest for the wicked! LOL! This week I"m only driving because she was crying about how much money she's having to pay to get the apartments liveable so it would really help if I didn't work this week. I wanted to tell her it wouldn't cost her so much if these would have been taken care of correctly in previous years and not just patched here and there, but I was nice and just said no problem.

Much cooler here this morning so that makes it a good Friday, if the weatherman speaks the truth not going to like next week.

WG hope the movie went well.

Y'all take care.

LG, I think the pain for the second joint especially if they are fairly close together is more than the first one. I think the tolerance for pain is less. Sometimes it is that the joint was in worse shape even though it hurt less before.

SS, that's a lot of ice cream. So good of you to help out.

The boys are watching a movie. Gotta supervise. Apparently they are grazing and that isn't always a good idea.

We just got back from this afternoon's session of our Ice Cream Social. We passed about 125 or our dishes. Tonight might be an even bigger group so we will go and help again.

Nala had her annual vet visit today. She had 4 shots! They kicked in while we were at the clubhouse. Now she is sleeping but she won't jump so she must also be sore. I am hoping sh's back to normal.

LG - thanks for checking in. I am glad all went well. Hopefully, the pain is under control and you are recovering.

SEK - I don't know about you but the bus driving sounds much better than the physical work you were doing. I just hope you make as much as you did with unemployment benefits.

LG Sorry to hear you are having more pain.

It's a little cooler today and supposed to be even better tomorrow, but then next week, Holy Cow Summer is going to be in full swing.

The nice thing about summer school is not very many kids, just 3 of us working, and I get done and home by 12:15, the guys are jealous because they have to go out in the country and I don't so they don't get finished until about 12:45 to 1. I told them it pays to be a girl. It's just about time for me to head back so I should go.

I hope everyone is doing well, SS good for Norm and his buddy but sorry it's taking so long.

Good Afternoon!

Yesterday was busy for us. Classmates breakfast in the morning and then our Soup/Salad luncheon at noon. I made my low carb Chicken Fajita soup and once again, it was completely gone. I was hoping for a couple servings left to eat at home but that didn't happen.

This morning I helped our Activity Director scoop dishes of ice cream for our Ice Cream Social tomorrow. We scooped 200 dishes and hope that will be enough.

We have a single lady here in our park that has a 30 year daughter who is severely handicapped and is about like a 9 mo old baby. She has to process her food even. She loves her child and is devoted to her. Well, her house and deck need power washing but she can't pay anyone so Norm and his friend Bob went over to do the work. They didn't ask as she would want to pay them. It must be really bad as the two guys have been working since 9 this morning.

LG - praying your surgery went well and you are home recovering before the hard work begins.

SEK - it is difficult waiting for unemployment benefits to kick in. You will probably be glad when school starts again. At least you get regular paychecks.

PJ - Is that a Shingles shot? Sorry you get such a bad reaction but just know it is temporary and enjoy doing nothing until you feel better.

Weezie2 - I would hate to have to work outside in this heat. Be careful and don't get heat stroke.

WG - I just plug along at my speed and pick and choose what I want to do. That's what I love about retirement.

Hi Seesters.

LG, thinking about you. Hoping you are doing well.

Louise, is your new yard smaller or less overgrown? I'm sure you are excited to get into the new place. Glad you got some yard work done.

SEK, it has to be frustrating to have unemployment start just as you go back to work. It's so hard to try to live on nothing.

Tammy, you'll get the living room painted. It has been busy for you this summer, but there's been a lot going on at your house. You've got a lot of irons in the fire right now.

SS, sounds like you are having a quiet but fun time.

I've got some catch up to do. It's been a busy week.

Have a great day.

I understand the humidity all too well. Yuck!!! I finally had it with my yard being so overgrown. The past few days have been on the cooler side and less humid so I started to tackle it. 10 hours later and the front looks pretty good. Temps are going back up tomorrow so I'm not sure when I'll get to the back.

Hope everyone is doing well. Have a Great Tuesday!

It is a down day for me. I had my 2nd Shingrex shot yesterday same reaction as the first time. Chills, headache, achy and my arm hurts like heck. Swelled and hot so did put an ice pack on for awhile and took something for my headache. Hopefully by tomorrow I will be back to normal. I tried to go to one fitness class this morning and left early just couldn't do it.

LG thinking about you. Sending you hugs and keeping you in my prayers.

LG thinking of you.

Tammy, no I won't get the checks anymore because I'll make more driving, I will continue to file so the few weeks in between I can get a check. The bad thing is I won't get my first check from the school until the end of August and unemployment doesn't care when you get paid just that you have a job, which sucks.

Y'all take care and stay cool, another hot one here and I'm getting ready to head back to it, just about time to take them home.

Good Afternoon
it is a perfect summer day today. No wind, sunny and low humidity. The heat and humidity will be back by tomorrow.

I went for a nice walk with Nala this morning. When Norm finished his work this morning we had to run a few errands and some building supplies. Now he is out working in the garage.

Tammy - I do appreciate all that Norm can do but it makes me so dependent on him. After his heart surgery, I tried to do more with the house, but over the years we are back to him doing all the maintenance stuff and I take care of the house.

WG - I am relieved your sister has been cleared of cancer but I hope they get to the bottom of her health issues.

LG - we are all thinking of you and will be praying for you tomorrow as you have your surgery. Check in when you feel up to letting us know how it's going.

Hi, Seesters!

Prayers and positive thoughts tomorrow, LG!

WG, what a sad thought for you re your sister. I am glad that it looks more likely that she does not have cancer.

PJ, your canned green beans do sound delicious. I told Joe about them, and it led to a discussion of the planned garden that did not happen, which led to a discussion of did I really want to have a garden at all. emoticon We left it that perhaps the largest raised bed might get "transferred" to be a place for a couple or three miniature fruit trees.

SEK, but you will still get the unemployment checks, right? I am not sure just how that works.

SS, sure wish I had Norm's knowledge to do such things. What am I saying? I haven't even painted the living room yet and that is the one thing that I wanted to get done.

TB, we are anxiously awaiting Season 12 of Heartland on the UP Faith & Family channel - I believe it is to be available on 7/25. We've watched a couple of WWII documdramas set in the Channel Island and it is NOT the same. emoticon

HI Seesters.

LG, thinking about you. Take care of yourself.

SEK, I guess you will have to enjoy driving again. I agree that some people can't work out schedules. It takes a special skill and I hate it when the wrong person does it. It needs to be someone who can take in the whole picture and make plans accordingly. Have had some great schedulers and some awful ones.

SS, the loft storage sounds good. Gives you more floor space in the garage. Being alone sometimes sounds like a lot of fun.

Got extra grands here today and some of them are bored. I'll have to go entertain them.

Have a great day.

Hello Seesters!

We are just spending a relaxing Sunday at home. Norm woke me up to go out for breakfast by ourselves. We enjoyed talking about the project Norm is doing in our garage. He has decided to remodel to get all the stuff in an upstairs loft. As if he doesn't have enough to do! But, I do like his plans. He is out working on it now. That man is not happy if he isn't working!

LG - I loved Brooke's picture on FB! Such a lovely young lady and has a wonderful future ahead of her! Sorry about your project going astray. Just take deep breaths. It will be there after your surgery. Here it is almost time already. It won't matter how early it is as I wouldn't sleep much the night before anyway!

SEK - our humidity is much better today. I couldn't live in high humidity as it just zaps me. Good luck on your bus runs for summer school.

Today is my last non-working day. Summer school starts tomorrow and that ends the unemployment, darn it. Joshua goes back to work tonight, he's been off this week on vacation. Matt gets a 2 week unexpected vacation at the end of this month, the plant he works for decided to take a 2 week shut down, they can never get the orders straight. There is either too much work or not enough. I would like the work scheduling job for 6 weeks so I could show them how it's done. This woman has been doing it for 6 years and still can't get it right. No one knows how she keeps her job, I have a few ideas but I shouldn't put them in words. emoticon

SS hope it does cool off for you, we have the humidity all summer here. This week will probably be murder on the bus, temps are supposed to be in the high 90's, and with the rain we've had the humidity will be through the roof.

PJ I don't can anymore, my mom and grandmother used to do it all summer, I would help, but I just never got into it. Maybe it's becaused I've always worked, neither one of them did, so they had plenty of time. They used the cold water bath method that takes forever.

Need to get up and moving y'all take care.

Hi, Quiet here for a minute.

PJ, that's a lot of beans. I'm glad you have them and enjoy them. I love those clean jars with fresh food. My DIL still cans and she has all my equipment.

LG, sorry about having to unpick. It's miserable having to take out embroidery. Good luck h the surgery on Monday. I'm sure you will recover well. Two nights, right?

SS, I'm laughing about all the men watching TV in their man caves while they work. That's a good idea. I'm ready for quiet, but there's another fireworks holiday later this month, so more to come.

I enjoyed no fireworks or parade on Thursday but Friday we all gathered at DD's house. She loves to host and had neighbors, friends and us. I think there were about 75 people there. DS and SIL did the lighting. It was nice. We enjoyed a personal show. I'm sure the neighbors were glad they were at DD's house and not trying to sleep.

Today the girls and I went grocery shopping. My bill was much higher with the girls, but we had fun. The grands are with dad and step mom to be so they are having fun. DS is working hard at making sure the family blends well. I usually disappear when they are together here so they can work out the dynamic.

Tomorrow we are grilling and making ice cream. I'm also furnishing berries as well as the ice cream. It should be fun. We'll have fun and enjoy the time together. Then it is a break for a couple of weeks so everyone can recover.

Had a scare this week. My sister called me and told me she just got out of the hospital (didn't tell me she was in) and they thought she had cancer. Like the brothers, it was a particularly deadly one. I was saddened to think about losing her. She went to the doctor yesterday and apparently, she didn't fit all the criteria so they think it is a chronic illness instead of the cancer,, probably. It was sad to think about being the last surviving member of the family, all of the family of my parents and grandparents. I'm glad I don't have to think about it for now.

Have a great day. I'm going to take a break and do some other things.

We had a nice display of fireworks in all directions. Seems there was more than usual out here in the country. The neighbors really had a lot of them. Gave us a good show and they are far enough away we didn稚 have to worry about sparks.

Picked and canned 7 pints of green beans this morning and weeded my flower bed again. Now it is inside for the rest of the day.

LG sorry you had to use Jack on your quilt block. Glad your surgery is not set so you can get it over with and move on feeling better.

SEK glad to hear you got your unemployment. I have also had both of my eyes done. And one of them had to be tweaked a bit a few months later. But no problems since.

This has been a very frustrating day so far so I知 sitting on the couch playing games on my iPad! Yesterday I worked on the T-shirt quilt & it痴 ready to be sewn together. I had a friend digitize an embroidery block for the quilt. Decided this morning I壇 work on it. Got started & either something is wrong with the design or my machine. It痴 a mess. Pulled most of it out. It could be a combination of both design and machine. Now it値l have to wait until a couple of weeks after surgery to get fixed.

Sharon, I used to love the heat & could work outside in it. But not anymore.

SEK, glad you got your unemployment.

WG, I don稚 do parades or fireworks either!

Got word from the doctor, my surgery is scheduled for Tuesday at 8 am! Have to be there at 5:30! My theory....get in, get out, get on with it!

Morning!
Hopefully this will be our last hot and humid day. These humid 90 degree days just zap the strength out of you. I could never work outdoors. Norm is hoping to finish his shed this morning. He usually doesn't work on Saturdays but he is close to being done with this shed. The buyers moved in over the 4th so that's all the more reason to get it done!

SEK - I'm glad to hear you finally got your unemployment!

PJ - Norm has his shop and Frank has his barn! Yes, Norm has a TV in his shed. Whenever he turns up missing, all I have to do is check his shop! I'm glad Frank has a place to go to be alone.

WG - I guess I'm not very patriotic either. Parades and fireworks don't impress me any more. I was disappointed with myself as at the party the other night everyone was wearing patriotic clothing. It just didn't enter my mind and I have several outfits I could have worn. Oh well, there's always next year!

Sounds like everyone's been busy. Our 4th was just another day, now the neighbors made plenty of noise.

Mike has had both his eyes done and he never had a problem, except like Frank the boredom of not being able to do anything for a few days.

SS that is tons of work for a hitch. Glad Norm can do it. That's usually what happens to us something simple turns into lots of work.

Finally got my unemployment it took several phone calls but at least it's done.

Today we are off to the groomer, Molly loves the car ride, Izzabella not so much. At the moment I'm waiting for Braums to open, I forgot to stop and get milk yesterday and I need it to make waffles. Hubby is out so it's time to stock the freezer again.

Y'all take care and have a great weekend.

Not much going on here either. I did some sewing and knitting. Will grill steaks for dinner. Frank isn't to be doing much for a couple more days and he is getting bored watching TV from his recliner. So he is watching in his barn now.

Hope everyone is having a good day. Mine is laid back. Got some cleaning to do and will read this afternoon. I'm not a parade person and family fireworks are tomorrow night. I think that will be the extent or my patriotic activity this year.

Tammy, grandma duty has to be good no matter what the reason. I'm glad DGS is doing better. I also hope your son is doing better. I'm glad he is getting followup. He probably needs to listen to his doctor and be checked as suggested.

SS, sounds like my kind of day. I do have some berries and cherries today. Not much else.

Have a wonderful holiday.

We are enjoying the Holdiay. We went to breakfast with a couple from our park and had a nice visit. This afternoon Norm is working in his shop and I'm in my office so we are both doing what we enjoy.

I hope everyone is doing what they enjoy!

I got up this morning and made my dishes for our party tonight. I made a macaroni salad w/ham,cheese and peas. I also made the Root Beer Float pie that was circulating on FB only using diet/low fat ingredients. I am anxious to try it.

Tammy - I am so sorry for what your DS and GS are going through. I am sure you enjoy the alone time with GS but wish it was under different circumstances.

WG - a birthday party sounds good! I hope you had fun.

I have to go get ready to leave for our party. I am not sure we will stay 'til the end as I have seen so many fireworks that I couldn't care less. Plus, it's a long ride home!

Hi, Seesters!

Canned green beans...yummy! Perhaps I need to see if I can plant fall green beans. The garden went emoticon with all our rain. I have seen some beautiful gardens around, though, so it was probably all on me.

I got called to grandma duty - not that I minded - about noon on Monday when GS showed a fever at daycare. It was gone by the evening, but he couldn't go back the next day [has to be 24 hrs when they go home with a fever], so I had a fun day there. I went with DIL to take him to his ENT specialist yesterday afternoon, and he will get another tube in one ear as they can't see it. At the very least, they have to figure out why it can't be seen. So that will get done three weeks from today. DS got into his regular pcp on Monday afternoon - they fortunately worked him in as he was still presenting pain so more meds and a colonoscopy scheduled for early August, which his Crohn's dr wanted a few months back anyway. There had been an issue with him being able to eat even. I've not checked in with him today, as it is his day off, and I am really hoping that he is sleeping. I didn't want to chance waking him up, because I imagine he has his phone on in case daycare calls and DIL wouldn't be able to leave work for some reason. [That totally makes sense to me, but realize it may be badly written.] GS gets little knots on his lymph glands when he has ear infections emoticon
That would especially scare me, with his NF1 diagnosis - it did scare me when I felt one the other day and didn't know what it was.

We aren't doing anything for the 4th, except I will go take care of DD's cats once a day. I hope everyone stays as well as they can. Of course, that's in their control, right? emoticon

I did quite a bit of work in our back lawn, but was particularly in an area where we keep puppy from since she is gone today. I will do some more over the next few days.

Just got back from Lightning's birthday. They are going to the dinosaur park now and will have his cake with other family tonight. It was fun and the boys are cute.

PJ, I remember when my mom used to can beans. It was a lot of work. I'm glad you got to do them. Did you plant and pick or buy at the farmers market?

SS, I get statements monthly and my adviser sends stuff all the time. It's fine, but the good part is that I'm not losing money.

Got to run. Have a great day.

Another busy day! We had an appointment with our financial advisor this morning. Just our annual meeting but we really like this guy so we still go although it's a long drive for us .

We stopped for lunch on the way home . Then Norm dropped me off at the clubhouse just in time for Bingo.

PJ - glad to hear Frank's surgery went well. I see you had a busy afternoon canning the beans. Do you take them to Tx when you go for the winter.

Hi Seesters. The kids were traded today and I have some of one and some of another. It is all good. They play well together and I love the idea of being friends with cousins. I had a ton of them growing up but was the oldest girl on that side so didn't play a bunch with them. Luckily, most have someone to be with.

PJ, hope Frank does well with his surgery. Most people do very well and vision improves so well. My bulbs that were in pots got cleaned out by the rodents over the winter. I need to plant new ones each year. Not very motivating. I've tried for years to get rid of the critters but they aren't going. I may have to get desperate and do something awful. Don't like poisons, though, with the grands around.

SS, I enjoy doing laundry in the summer. I still leave it outside to dry organically, but I don't get a lot of grief from the neighbors. I'm doing sheets today and will do a couple of loads. like that. I don't usually dry small clothes outside or towels because I like them fluffier. My everyday clothes dry well on the deck. I don't have to leave them out long and they are all dry.

Harks back to when I was married and my ex wouldn't let me dry clothes in the dryer unless it was bad weather. He didn't like me running the dishwasher either. He lost on that one.

I have a cousin from my grandfather's sister I've been trying to contact. The sister died young of cancer and her children were left in an orphanage and the father took off on his own. I'm sure there were reasons, but it was pretty awful. This one lives in Niger where he works. Don't know what he does, but he finally wants to chat. I had to download an app so we can message and it doesn't cost an arm an a leg.

Gotta go and exchange prisoners. Have a great day.

Frank had his cataract surgery this morning (all went well) and his 1st check up with Dr in the morning. I picked green beans after we got home and just finished canning 14 pints of them. They will be good this winter one of my favorite veggies. Tomorrow looks like a front yard mowing day. Getting just a little rain shower right now just enough I won稚 have to water anything today.

I had some caladium bulbs that didn't come up in a pot. Frank and I checked on them about a week ago and decided they were upside down (these were really hard to tell) and walla they are up now and leaves are starting to open.

WG I have never heard of zippered sheets before. I am so glad to hear that future SIL is thinking of ways to improve the new family life. She sounds like a keeper and so different then the 1st one.

Good Evening!
Another hot and humid day here. Norm worked on his shed a few hours until it got just too hot! This afternoon he puttered in the garage. I haven't done much but laundry. I got three loads washed but I am waiting to dry when it's cooler this evening so the A/C doesn't have to work so hard. Nala doesn't even want to go out to go potty. She runs out, does her thing and comes right back.

WG - It's nice you had time to work on the genealogy this weekend. My DD worked on ours and it was interesting what she dug up. I think your DS will do well in his marriage. This woman sounds very different from the kids mother. I just hope she is strong enough to help mold the kdis into responsible adults. They are at such vunerable ages for the next few years.

LG - I hope you are inside in the a/c today, perhaps working on your quilts which I know you love to do.

PJ - Norm loves white cars. He had a white one in his radar but I discouraged him. I have had my share of white cars over the years!

Tammy - it sounds like Joe's nose is getting better. I understand that is a long slow process with that type of surgery. And then your DS, I sure hope they can get to the bottom of his pain. Pain is so difficult to live with.

Hi Seesters. Took time this weekend and did some genealogy. I'm matching cousins and ancestors. It may help me find some links to ones I can't find. I used to think that one line just didn't want to be found but it was really that they were so poor they didn't leave a paper trail.

LG, I hope DS and his marriage works out well. I'm sure he is lonely and has no desire to raise his kids alone. I like this girl and she seems to be ready to stand up for herself. She is working on problem solving so she doesn't have to deal with the problems that are currently here. She will have more power which should help. She is getting the zipping sheets where the top and bottom sheet zip together so the bed is easier to make in the morning. It won't be perfect, but hopefully it will be easier.

Got to run and do laundry. Have a great day.

WG, I hope everything goes well for your DS & his new bride.

PJ, I marvel at how much outside work you do. Thomas & I have very few potted plants any more. Cuts down on the watering!

Tammy glad Joe is getting better! As for your DS痴 Crohns...I think that everyone I know who has it has acid reflux. One friend takes 2 Prilosec every day & these are prescription. Stress is just one factor in this disease.

SS, love the new car. Ours is also black. But I致e made a mental note to never buy a car with black interior again! I nearly burned my hands on the steering wheel!

I知 working on the embroidered quilt & Brooke痴 T-shirt quilt. Got to run and take care of a few things.

Hi Seesters. It's a lovely day and quiet here. New DIL to be is here and they are down visiting. DS had the kids working hard today cleaning. He really understands it won't fly to let them be awful any more. They were awful with him as well.

My lawn is mowed and the Princess P is playing with cousins. It is nice to have the kids so close and friends to play with.

PJ, you are always cleaning up and fixing up. My sister says the same thing about living in an assisted. The nice part about that is now you can move to an "independent living apartment" until you need more care and can then transfer to assisted living. It works well for many. I'm sure you will clean things out as much as you can anyway so the kids don't have to go through things like you have had to when you have taken care of loved ones.

Tammy, so glad that your DH is healing some. The MOH's doesn't look good for a while. It is quite misshapen as it settles in. I think the ones I've seen a while out are much better, but it is a long process. I think it looks like a character out of Star Trek with the ridge on the nose.

I hope DS isn't suffering from an increase in problems from Crohns. He can have attacks at times and still not have it getting worse. It could be an ulcer also or any number of things. I hope it is an easy fix and he can get back to his regular life. They have enough on their plates without problems with his health.

SS, that is a cute little car. I'm sure that the black car won't be a big problem. It is just a black car. It sits low to the ground. It looks like a fun drive. I hope you enjoy it. I'm glad that the manuals are in the car. My DS lost his key once and had to get a replacement one. He went to a key place and they made one for him from the VIN number. We have a great little shop here and it works well. It still costs a lot to get new keys made but it is worth it to have that spare.

Going to get going. The kids will be leaving soon to go to DD's house. It is fun to have them here and fun to have them gone. I'm good taking a trip to the grocery for some produce and stopping at a new place for a bite to eat before I get home. I might to drive through so I can spend time alone. Who knows?

Have a great day.

Got my monthly haircut this morning. Then decided to wash down the porch railings as they didn稚 get done last year. The rails are the white plastic/vinyl type so some bleach water and tough spots I used Mr Clean pads. While I was doing that Frank was and is putting down a thick base of plain gravel where we are landscaping then we will top it with a couple inches of the more expensive decorative rocks. Now inside cooling off and we were both taking breaks

Sharon love your new little car Looks like it will be easy to tow once Norm gets it ready.
We have never had a black car. Mine now is a very dark blue which is a pain to keep clean on gravel roads. I once had a white car (not by choice) and hated if I have a choice I will never have another white car. I want color. I loved my purple GMC Jimmy and I once had a small chevy Monza that looked like a little race car with red and blue stripes.

WG sorry to hear about the misbehaving grands. The future wife is in for a lot of hard times and so are the kids. It won稚 be easy especially since they haven稚 been disciplined much.

Kids haven稚 talked about our future (that I know of) but if Frank goes first I want to sell and be in an apartment or assisted living I don稚 want my kids to have to worry about selling our house or going through a ton of stuff. And if finances would allow I would want to take some bus trips or train trips or some kind of organized trips with other people. Not a cruise) Frank would stay here until the end (I think) and not worry about the mess he will leave behind. Let alone who will be around to help him. I don稚 think the boys have talked to each other about it (since they barely talk to each other) but I知 sure each has talked to their wives.

Hi, Seesters...

Joe's nose continues to look better emoticon I still think he will be making some more dermatologist visits past Monday's appointment.

Another medical issue in the family...DS went to UC this week and was sent to ER...he was to double up on his Prilosec. His symptoms haven't gotten any better and there is talk of another UC try this evening after he gets off work. I guess he has been in pain that whole time. His sister is worried that his Crohn's may be worsening. I wonder if he has an ulcer. Joe says he thinks he has always had some anxiety and with baby being ill, etc...[I do believe the ER ruled out heart issues.]

It's hard to believe that June is almost done! Wow!

SEK - we were happy to see all the manuals are in the glove box. Norm looked this morning and he will have to practically take the whole front off to put the hitch on. He said it will be a 2-3 day job, not happy but doable. Once again I'm glad he's a maintenance man!

SS you are so right. Mike hate's that he can't do anything, they even make it hard to change the oil, and to replace a headlight on our pickup we have to take the grill off and a bracket that goes from the engine to the frame. It's crazy. I love black cars that's mostly what we've owned. To me, there is just something classy about them. You know the new keys are supposed to make them not so easy to steal, but if you are a thief you can bypass that stuff.

Love the car, it's so cute. Some of the brands charge you extra for a manual. That's crazy.

Morning!

We got our new wheels yesterday! It's really black. We have never owned a black car so we may regret it but we are very limited in our choice as we need a manual shift and most cars these days are automatics.

SEK - We only got one key for our new vehicle so we have to have another key made. It's not like you can go to the local hardware store as the key has a chip in it. So the car lot gave us the info to contact and have another key made. They tell us the cost is about $100. One thing we noticed is that the newer the car, the more computer stuff is on them. It's not like the average person can work on them anymore.

Tammy - yes Dogwood was enjoyable and yes pricey, but we haven't done something like this in a very long time. There was a family there that had been to Top of the Rock, they said the tram was better there, more comfortable and not as long.

Our son as a keyless car. When he got his teeth pulled a few weeks back and needed a driver I drove it. When it was time to leave it wouldn't start, well, he thought I was crazy and kept saying just push the button (by the way I was pushing the button). Well..............a few days later it did the same thing to him, so I felt not so dumb, especially when I found out the battery in the fob was dead. Guess who had the last laugh.

Got to get busy outside before it gets too hot.

Y'all have a stupendous Saturday.

Hi Seesters. The grands were awful this morning. I'm tired of being the police and they sometimes just want to be wild. I finally had to line them up and tell them to get their stuff together and clean up the mess. Cheerios all over the floor and chairs. Jumping on furniture, slamming doors, and other things I would never have allowed with my children. DS understands that his bride won't like the kinds of messes the kids leave and wild behavior they have. He has let things slide, but their mother believed that farting and belching at the table were fun and drinking out of cartons was appropriate. She also believed that since people were more important than things that she didn't require them to respect others belongings.

SS, have fun getting your new car. It will be fun. It should be fun to drive. I'm sure you will have fun with it.

Princess P is the second child but since the oldest has a form of Aspbergers, it is often that she is the "oldest." More than that, she is very like her mother and loves to have control and gets pretty nasty when she doesn't get her own way.

Three of the kids will be gone this afternoon so it should be quiet here. My wrist is much better but one finger is still tender. I think it will be a bit more willing to bend when the swelling goes down.

Got to run and herd the cats. Have a great day.

Good Evening
We went to coffee this morning. This afternoon we had to get the Barney car emptied of all personal things and Norm had to remove the trailer hitch stuff. It's all ready to turn in tomorrow. Norm has to work in the morning so we will go in the afternoon

Tammy - I can understand why the kids brought it up. My kids think we have one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel. They have also talked about what would happen to me if Norm goes first. I just let them talk as to be honest, I don' want to go live with either of my kids! I probably would live alone and then go in to assisted living. So just shrug it off and accept that they love you and are letting you know you will not be left alone .

WG - sorry you are having pain in the wrist area. Arthritis can be so difficult to deal with. Is Princes P the oldest of the kids. The oldest girl has a tendency to mother tge other kids much to their dismay.

LG - Our new car isn't new enough to be keyless but it has enough bells and whistles to keep us busy figuring everything out .

Hi Seesters. It is a lovely day. Princess P is gone again and she has been an irritant lately. Probably the age, but she can be mean. Things are much happier when she is elsewhere.

Fridge guy came by today and he fixed my leaking problem in a few minutes. It was an easy fix and hopefully I'll have a longer life with this fridge even though it's missing handles since I remodeled.

Tammy, my kids talk to me about when I can't take care of myself any more and who has to deal with things. They talk a lot behind my back so I've had to learn to live with it. It's probably good for the kids to process and deal with things, but you don't have to yet on that level. You need to enjoy the time you are in now. I believe they have good intentions, but you know them well and know whether or not to plan on their support.

Had a hard night. In the afternoon my arthritis can kick in and it hurts all night and into the next day. It is usually better by nightfall the next day. I'm hoping so today.

LG, a lot of sewing for you next week. I'm glad you have things to do.

Have a great day.

Hi, Seesters!

SEK, did you enjoy Dogwood Canyon? You may have seen me tagged on FB as having been to Top of the Rock...wow! what an experience there, but a bit pricey. Those things usually are, though.

We are beginning to have some healing after the Mohs surgery, but I do think that we will be seeing the dermatologist a few more times this summer, as well as more bandaged nose time.

The stepdaughters and the one son-in-law shared with me that they could see the four of us traveling together when the time comes that I am alone...it was more of a "we know that dad might not have that many more years left", etc. I "made nice" but it kind of took me aback... fortunately they did NOT share that little tidbit while their dad was around. As I said, I was really kind of "wow...that's kind of nervy." Am I wrong? Of course, given their tendency to not follow thru, I will never have to worry about it coming up. LOL

I feel the summer is getting away from me. I still need to power-wash the house and I want to paint at least our living room before I go back to work in August.

DS went to the ER with chest pain Wednesday night after flirting with the idea Tuesday night. He was diagnosed with acid reflux. Someone mentioned that they wondered if it was related to his Crohn's...I have no idea. He said he is a tiny bit better today.

We have toyed with the idea of a friend for Cocoa, but not until we are absolutely not traveling.

SEK, love your story about the FB. I cam remember one morning not long ago, I came home from the gym, got in the shower and put dirty clothes in the washer. Discovered later that my FB was in the pocket of my pants! Rushed in the laundry room and stopped the washer & pulled out the FB. Still working like a champ! Glad you got it back.

SS, my 渡ew car is a push button start. No keys. I知 still learning about it.

WG, doesn稚 sound very 斗ow key to me. But if this is her first, don稚 blame her!

Working today then off & I hope to finish up the embroidered quilt & start Brooke痴 T-shirt quilt.

SS the unemployment is 6 weeks overdue. I know there is a week's wait but this is on Durham. They will not substantiate or claim that the contract ended and that we are entitled to draw. They are not cooperating with KansasWorks. I'm about to drive to Illinois and help them get their S*** together. I feel bad for the others who don't have any kind of back up, it's tough on us but we manage to muddle along by cutting back on what we can do without. Glad we don't have little ones then it would really be hard. We all figure it'll get approved about the time we go back to work and then we'll get a really big check. I think then my co-workers will show up at our place for a steak cookout! Everyone says we have the best back yard.

Summer is here today, nice and sticky out there. One more day to work then off for 3 days and they go by way tooo fast. Taking Joshua to Joplin Friday to shop for his birthday. I know we just went last week but he didn't get to "shop". He should have been a girl, cause he loves shopping.

I excited I don't have to cook tonight, it's clean out the fridge night.

SS enjoy the car.

WG good luck with all you are doing.

Hi Seesters. It looks like you all are busy.

SEK, congrats on finding the FB. I'm glad it isn't lost now. It is always a win to have a new one though. I hope you have a good experience with the new one.

PJ, half your lawn is a lot of yard. It's nice to get it done, though.

SS, I'm sure you will enjoy your new car. New fobs are expensive, especially with the new cars that don't need a key. It will be so much fun, though.

Wedding is a couple of months off and DS told me that new DIL is planning a "low key" wedding that includes matching dresses for the bridal party and other things. A bit fancier than I anticipated. I now will have new dresses (SS you are right, there are two) to wear other places. And another dress that I will probably never wear again. Maybe I can make a dress for a granddaughter later, but doubt I'll use the wedding party dress again.

Have grands here and need to be grandma again. Have a great day.

Good Morning
Norm is busy working. He has so much to do this week but our friends called to see if we are up for a casino run. We were surprised Ron feels up to it. We didn't want to say no as we don't know how many more trips are in his future so we are meeting them at 2. In my FB memories today it popped up that two years ago today was when I won a $1295.00 pot. I would love for that to happen again!

SEK - amazing that your DH found the missing FitBit! Oh well, it's fun to get something new. I don't know about you but I would rather drive the bus over all the physical work you have been doing. It takes forever for unemployment to kick in but it will be a nice bonus when it does.

WG - Norm is excited about a different car. I must admit it will be nice. There are so many bells and buttons that we will have to figure out. Barney is a 5 speed manual. The new one is a 6 speed. The reverse is in an entirely new position so that will throw me at first. We need to have a manual shift to pull behind the MH. We survived the severe thunderstorm last night but it brought in the humidity. It is very hot and humid already so I am glad Norm is only working outside until noon.

PJ - I don't blame you for taking a break while mowing. That is a big front yard. I hope you can get a new computer and save some money. Don't be nervous about Windows 10, it isn't that much different, you just have to go in with an open mind. There is no key fob for the new car but we have fobs for Barney and the Mustang but rarely use them so it doesn't bother us. The bad news is they only have one key so we will have to get a couple more. It does have all the paperwork and manuals and that we will need!

You all are not going to believe what my hubby found last night on the curb when he was mowing. Yep, my Fitbit, been in the street for 2 weeks with tons of rain and didn't wash away. Guess what. It was still charged barely, and works. It would get found after I ordered a new one. I'll keep this old one as a backup. He said he looked down and thought what the heck is that and then it dawned on him. I looked all over the yard but never thought about the street in front of the house. They say truth is stranger than fiction. I can't believe it's still working correctly.

PJ glad we mowed yesterday cause I got up to rain at 4 this morning.

Got to get to work, y'all have a great day.

Got my part of the yard mowed this afternoon before we get more rain. I have been doing good on my steps between mowing and the fitness centers. I intend to do more trail walking on days I don稚 go to the fitness center (weather permiting of course). I did a Leslie tape a few days ago and my laptop messed up. It has been acting weird lately. I ran all my cleanup programs but think when I pay our internet bill (the company I used to work for) I will see if they are still selling computers and talk to them about a new one. I would want to wait until they have the tax free days in August to save a little bit at least the taxes. I know it will be a big learning curve if we get one as we are on Windows 7 now.

SEK I hope you like your net FB mine is the Alta HR and I really do like it and the size. Give us a review. Sorry about your financial mess and needing to drive for summer school. But at least you will know you have a paycheck.

Sharon congrats on the new to you vehicle. If it is like mine you will have lots of new interior buttons and switches to figure out. I had to look something up yesterday in my book. Will you have a key fob instead of a key?

LG after your surgery (which is not far off) you will get better and will be able to walk more.

WG so you are getting the heat too. But the cool mountains aren稚 far from you if you wanted to find some cooler (or should I say cold and snow) weather. Seems a lot of mountain areas still have plenty of snow. Strange.

It may take me longer to get to my goal than my original plan but I will get there.

HI Seesters. It is warm today. Supposed to hit 90 which is a big change from the 67 on Saturday. I'm not a hot weather person and prefer the cool coastal climate. Unfortunately I can't afford to live there and would miss my kiddos if I did.

SEK, they are still skiing here. The big mountains are open on the weekends and would be more but can't hire the workers. It is fun for many and I'm glad for that.

I'm sorry you are in a pickle with your retirement. I hate the thought of having to keep working as I'm sure you do. I'm glad you are positive about it. Many people work years past their retirement age.

LG, I'm glad the sock hop is over. It is fun but exhausting for all of you. I'm sure you have a lot to get done over the next couple of weeks. It is hard to think about but you will feel so much better when you can move with less pain.

Sharon, a new car sounds fun. I never get new as they lose value too quickly. It sounds like a lot of work but you will love it. I'll bet you get great mileage as well.

Got most of a quilt quilted. I've got to get going on a second one and a baby blanket. it's all fun and I enjoy it.

Have a great day. Grands should be home soon.

SS we had a KIA Mini-Van and we loved it. We have a Buick Enclave now and it's wonderful.

Well, I need to learn how to say that big gigantic work NO. School called today and begged me to drive summer school, of course, I caved. I wasn't going to because we are supposed to be getting unemployment this summer, for the first time, but there is some kind of hold up, and we haven't gotten paid, soooo I figure a bird in hand is worth 2 in the bush. I know the school will pay me not so sure about the government. I do know when they do get it figured out they have to pay all back pay, but gotta buy groceries before then.

LG good luck with your surgery the 9th isn't very far away.

Got to get busy here at the house so I better go. Y'all take care.

Good Morning!
Well, we bit the bullet and purchased a new (preowned) vehicle to replace Barney. Barney is a 2002 and Norm felt it was time to upgrade. We need to remove all the trailer hitch stuff and clean it out so we told them it would be Friday before we are ready to drive it off the lot. We looked at brand new but I wasn't comfortable going into that long a loan (at our age) but I feel much better about this one which is a 2014 Kia Soule.

LG - I am also glad the sock hop is over for you. Now you can concentrate on preparing for the surgery. I just looked and that's only two weeks away! The time is rapidly approaching! I hope it goes as well as the first surgery. According to the xrays, the doctor diagnosed his hip as hip bursitis aggravated by arthritis. Now Norm has a good idea of what I suffered with when I had my hip bursitis which Norm showed no sympathy for me so I'm not too sympathetic for him either!!!

SEK - I am so sorry about your financial mess as it is keeping you from retirement. BUT, I love your attitude and the fact that you are not feeling sorry for yourself. I'm sure you had your moments but you put your big girl pants on and went to work! I hope the new FB is a good fit for you. I do love having it. Right now my step goal is only 5,000 and I'm sorry to say most days I don't even make that but it does keep me walking.

WG - Good idea on the two dresses so you have a choice. As long as they aren't white, I'm sure either will be perfect!

SEK, glad you got a new Fitbit. I still have an older one but suits my purpose.

WG, I don稚 understand kids today & cleaning! Both of mine are messy!

SS, did Norm ever find out what is wrong with his hip? It rained here all day yesterday.

PJ, sure wish I could do a 3 mile walk. But I値l get there!

The date of my surgery is July 9th but don稚 have a time yet. I知 glad the shop hop is over. We were all tired. We had about 400 come thru. That痴 a lot!

Well. I知 headed out to work. Have a great day.

SS I got the Charge HR3 it's just a new model from the one I had, it was the Charge HR2 which I bought because you could change the bands. I had an Alta but you couldn't change the band and I hated the way it fastened. I gave it to a friend of mine. Don't know if she used it or not. It's supposed to be here Thursday.

I should be retired but we got in a financial mess with that business we started that was supposed to be so great, that we found out was a scam when the FTC notified us they were shutting the guy down, and now we are waiting for the court to start refunding people their money, but in the meantime we still have to pay back what we borrowed until that happens, so it's called got to work as much as I can. I don't feel bad because there were a lot of big professionals that got took on the deal, so I figure I wasn't as dumb or gullible as I thought when it first fell apart. Such is life, just got to go with it.

Y'all take care, stay dry, cool, and maybe warm if you are in Colorado where they got 2 foot of snow.
