Today I worked out on the elliptical for 60 minutes, which is the most i've ever done on the elliptical. I was excited. I was going to do another 20 minutes on the tredmil cause i usually do that for a cool down from the elliptical, but the tredmil wasn't working, so i walked the long way back to my house from the gym.

I took a walk with DH and pooch at the park. What a nice day to be out. My cold is a bit better and my energy level is higher than yesterday.

Hope Everyone is doing well. Seems like it is a busy Sat. and everyone is somewhere other than on SP!! :)

Thanks 60Sixty! I am feeling better today! Coldezze surely helps me nip a cold in the bud!

It is cold and damp outside so sweet DH has set up the treadmill in front of the TV for me with a DVD of beautiful flower gardens and march music on the stereo!! :)

As Mr. Rogers would say, "It is a beautiful day in the neighborhood" even if it is a neighborhood of my own imagination!! :)

Give your precious GD a hug for me! You are wise to spend time with her now. She will grow up so quickly and have interests of her own! Good for you to enjoy today with her!!

Happy New Year Everyone!!

DADDYS_GIRL6 - Sorry to hear that you have a bug. No fun today.

My husband was just diagnosed as diabetic earlier this morning. I think he needs to seriously use Spark People.

My six year old granddaughter is leaning over my shoulder, so I think it is time to say goodbye for today.

Happy New Year to all!

Today I caught my DH's cold! Urgh... Am hoping it won't last long! Will lay off the exercising for a day or 2. Not what I needed! :)

We had snow last evening! The 3rd snow and it is only Dec! Lots of winters we don't have any snow at all! There was even some snow left from the last one a week ago, in shady spots .... very, very rare!

Our yard is snow covered. The streets look icy. Not real encouraging to exercise. But I am determined to get DH to go to the YMCA with me.

Well, I am not sick today. But for some reason I am very irritable. It is not TOM, so I have no idea why. I just want to choke someone. LOL

Think I will do some exercise tonight before bed. That will help get rid of stress.

Sorry to hear that so many have been sick. I am glad I got over it early. I have never heard any body mention the Breathe Right strips before. Good to know. When I had my cold, everything drained down my throat when I layed down.
DADDYS_GIRL6, you have an interesting way to stay warm. LOL

Planning for family to be around. Will miss those who live far away.
In case I don't get on here for the rest of the week, I want to wish each and every one a happy holiday season, and to all Christians a Merry Christmas.

For me the worst part about being sick is not being able to breathe at night when I lay down. I have to use Breathe Right strips. They look dumb, but they work so good.

Lovepainting, I hope you feel better soon. Make sure you try to eat smart, even though you cant taste much.

60Sixty glad you are feeling better. Sorry your water aerobics class doesn't meet again until after the New Year. Hope you will feel much better by then and will really enjoy the water class.

Lovepainting sorry you are under the weather. Coldezze lozenges really help me to kick a cold when I feel it coming on. Hope you can make it home and get some R&R!!

Team hope you all are doing well and are getting all those things done that need doing before Christmas! I have a bit to do myself and am concentrating on getting the exercise in too. I don't know why I seem to be dragging my feet! I'd rather sit with my warm computer on my lap! lol

I can breathe again. I haven't gone to the Y for a week and a half because of this. found out my water aerobics doesn't meet until the New Year.

I am eating my version of Coach Dean's oatmeal that I make in my rice cooker. I don't put the lid on to keep it from boiling over so that I can get the laundry started. I don't eat near as much as the Coach, but we aren't of the same gender. Something not fair about that.

I did track my food. I am averaging 1350 calories. And I am not hungry. but my weight isn't budging without a lot of exercise. New Year is in two weeks. I will really start pushing it then.

60Sixty, hope you feel better soon. I hate being sick this close to Christmas.

Monicat, glad you are healing up well. I had my gall bladder removed last year. Recovery would have been better if I had been in better shape. Now I am okay excpet for the digestive issues that still happen now and then (but not as often as they once did, since now I eat better).

Today I have got to finish my Christmas shopping. I need to order my brother and his girlsfriend's gifts and get them shipped (so I know they get there in time), and I am running out of time! They are the last of them to do. Then I need to wrap what I have at home.

I have had a bad cough and cold. I haven't really tried to eat the best, although it isn't the worst. I need to start tracking again. I have avoided juice, and eaten whole fruit instead. I guess that is a good thing.

BlueDawn52 you have made the perfect beginning! Might consider seeing a Chiropractor about your knee. When it heals seek Chiro's advise about exercising again. In the meantime there are exercises you can do that will not involve you knee.

Read everything you can about exercise on SP! Still improve your eating and keep track of your nutrition. It is still a good beginning!

Any one else have any helpful hints to encourage our new friend?!! emoticon

I haven't ever written on these so am not sure what I'm doing....I am so discouraged with my body right now & it is sabotaging my progress. I have been walking on my treadmill regularly since I started on SP & have really enjoyed it...but my knee is acting up now, swollen & hurting when bent...very disappointed.

Today is my first day back at work since I had my gallbladder removed on 11/30, and it's my first day back at the gym since Thanksgiving. I went to Spin class, and did a lot more than I originally thought I could do. Although I could not exercise during my recovery, I still lost 4 pounds - my metabolism is so much higher because I'd been exercising for 2 months before my surgery! It also made my recovery time a lot shorter. So, all in all, today, I am having an awesome day!

Hi Team,
Hope you don't mind if I just into the conversation. I was off the computer for about 3 weeks and can't seem to find where to hop back into conversations. :)

60Sixty, do you enjoy the water aerobics? I did water aerobics for a few years a long time ago and loved it. Even though I had been doing dance aerobics for 4 yrs before I lost a lot of inches and was so surprised at how much slimmer I became. Then the health club closed! We couldn't afford to join another at the time. I would love to join another now but maybe I'd rather have our own pool! That would bring the kids home! :)

Hello all!!! Yesterday I got my decoration on my tree. Since I have never actually decorated a tree (I am Jewish), it was an adventure. Why do I have a tree if I am Jewish? Just cuz I wanted one. I love the holdiays, and there aren't a lot of fun ways to decorate for Hanukah. Besides, I love SANTA CLAUSE!!! My tree doesnt look great, but I like it, so thats all that matters. I am back to work today and tonight, so trying to get time to do some ST. Shouldnt be hard to do.

Good Morning! Had to shovel this morning it was actually nice....different activity. People are starting to notice me shrinking....lost more inches than pounds. Looking forward to end of year goal. It seems like I go for a long strectch without goodies like cookies, candies or desserts and then I have a little something and I'm on the road to indulge here and there.....not to the point of binging but still eating more of that stuff that is really necessary...I notice I do this pattern....I am suspecting that the deprivation is my trigger and the holidays have a surplus of goodies, I don't like this pattern....makes me feel out of control in some regards. I'm thinking if I have a treat 2x a week then the new approach will stop the old pattern. What bother me is that I'm going along doing so well then I have something sweet and I do it a few times in a short period of time then I will be good again for a long period of time again? Is this alright? is this healthy? should I be concerned?

Good Morning class. I woke up to snow on the ground. Not enough to shovel. Maybe I will go out with a broom. It requires moving my body!

FREDDIE05299 emoticon Sounds like you put in long days. Have you tried for ten minutes of exercise, or even 5 minutes. I used to walk to the fifth floor and back down in the building I worked in. In strengthens the knees and is cardio.

Hi all, been a while since I checked in. Work has been busy and lots of tax classes to catch up on. They moved my cubicle at work which is a much farther walk to everything. Guess that's good exercise but in the morning I need my walker.

Christmas is coming up way too fast and I haven't started shopping. How are you all doing?

I think we are all doing great! Small baby steps leads to bigger goals. I have been at a slow weight loss lately and am trying so hard to get past it. It's like the body doesn't want to let go.

I get tired and tell myself, you have to some type of exercise doctors orders (for real).

What I have found is that when I increase the exercise, it makes me hungrier. Not sure what that's all about. Oh well, tis the silly season and if we can all just maintain, we will be doing good and if we lose weight - even better!!

Hats off to all of us!!

Linda, my biggest problem is getting the energy. After I got home from work last night at 10:15, i was so pooped, I barely had the energy to finish my laundry. I did get it done, but no cardio. I got some ST in, only becasue I did some lifting at work, and tried to some small sets when not busy. Didnt get much in.

Today, I am trying to do some neck and shoulder stetches, as I am in a lot of pain. I think I slept wrong.

You are doing such a good job with exercising.
You inspire me. I haven't gotten started this month. I use all my holiday business as an excuse not to.
There. I have identified the problem. Maybe I can do something about it.

Today I am so tired from yesterday. I worked all day, and the second job had me outside in the wind and rain working at the gas station. Seems easy until you have to walk around and help people at the pumps, and it is FREEZING out there.

Today, also, it is still cold and windy. Temps are supposed to drop into the 30's tonight and stay there for a few days. Gosh, I love Florida. LOL
I am going to get some ST and cardio in tonight. My body is demanding it.

Today I am happy. I worked out hard yesterday and look forward to exercising tonight. Good day at work - but outside it is cloudy with a chance of rain. Makes the day seem rather dark, but it is winter so I guess that's to be expected.

Hope all is having a great day.

TAREN - Take care of yourself. Drink your liquids. Hope tomorrow will be a better day for you.

I watched Biggest Loser last night. I am not sure I would ever have the stamina those people had to keep going when they were in pain. Surely they had sports trainers off camera advising them. If my knees start hurting, I back off.

I am going shopping for Christmas today. For the children in the family under the age of ten. The older ones, we haven't decided. They may get gift cards as we don't know what their wants are, sad to say. We will be going to Fort Wayne. While there, I am going to see if their stores have the kind of tomato paste that Chef Meg uses in her recipes. I am not sure if the tomato paste in a tube is a need, but it is shelf stable, you can use a tablespoon at a time, and she said it is low sodium because you use such small amounts. I think that makes it a need.

Today i exercised for a full 30 minutes even though i feel really crappy with this cold. I could only do 20 minutes yesterday before i felt like i was going to pass out. I also experimented more with my new juicer!!! thats very exciting to me.

The sun is barely up 8 hours a day. I guess that means it is December.
Today, i cooked one of Chef Meg's recipes.
Next time I will reduce the spice. I didn't miss the salt.

Today I am working all day. I have a TV and DVD player now in my bedroom, so I am going to some workout videos tonight.

Did some Wii fit, bowling and strength training. I think I'll do my elliptical and watch It's a Wonderful Life tonight.

Well, hello everyone! I banned the computer yesterday, and had a nice day. I worked all day, and then we had our holiday party. I did eat some junk, but mostly stayed away from the worst of it. I did have ONE BBQ meatball though...so good.

I am having trouble adjusting to the holiday season. Its just too hard to believe its already here. I have started shopping though, so I am trying. I got new clothes this weekend with the sales. Two new pairs of jeans a size smaller, new work pants, and new workout pants, all down a size. I also finally chose my big reward. I am going to go to Disney World for Christmas when I reach my goal. I have always wanted to see it, so I will. :)
