Well, it finally clicked for me this past weekend, and I am getting my eating on track! I was trying to eat too close to the bottom of my range, and I just can maintain that. I feel deprived and then end up bingeing. But I have eaten at the top of my range for the past 4 days, and I have made progress! I made Wednesday my new weigh in day, so that I could have a chance to make some progress (Sundays seem to not work so well for me). This morning, I weighed in and I was 3.5 lbs down! I am so glad I finally figured out how to make this work for me!

I am so glad that the spark teams and message boards are here too. I love the support and motivation I get from all of you! Good job everyone on our first month!

I can't believe I've been on Spark People a month now! It has helped me stay motivated and stay on track. I know I am making a lifestyle change and am working towards eating better and exercising consistently! The weight loss will come. I'm still as excited to be on here as I was the day I found it. Thanks SparkPeople! emoticon

It's been a month already? I am -4 lbs. and working really hard to stay on track. I know we can all do this and that is my motivation. I had gotten off course for a few days here and there but would get back on track by doing small things and then grow them over the next few days. Spark Streaks I've stuck with are no soda at all, and only one small cup of coffee in the month! UNREAL - for someone who would drink endless amounts of coffee each week.

Small changes do count because they lend to bigger habits and that is what I am learning here. There is always a moment to make a change, even if I've fallen off track.

Congrats to all of us of workin' it.

It works if you work it!!!!

I've lost 9 pounds the first month joining sparkpeople. I love the nutrition tracker because it really helps keep me on track. I know where I need to make some changes, but it's easier to do when you're tracking it all. I need extra motivation to keep up with exercising at home. Overall a great way to start things off and I'm loving the change my lifestyle has already under gone.

I've lost 5lbs so far in the month of using SP and participating in my team's biggest loser contest. I am happy with that loss for the first four weeks, especially as there was a week where I gained instead of lost. I am noticing that I have a hard time staying on track on weekends - my schedule changes, I have more social events to attend, I don't feel like exercising like I do during the week. Anyone have any ideas?

Congrats to all for sticking with SP for a month - if you can do something for a month, you know it's a new habit!

Learning to watch what I eat and how much I eat is an eye opener. I have been enjoying walking much more because I know what it is doing for me. I can walk for a longer time and at a faster pace. Thanks for all of the help. emoticon

I have lost 2 lb since beginning, abt .5 lb a week, but I am just trying to lose abt 10 lb. I exercise alot, and eat the higher amt of calories allowed. The weight loss has been VERY slow, but I also had been eating too little before starting SP, so it did take a few wks before I started seeing a loss. For me, eating the upper end of calories prevents me from feeling deprived and bingeing, which is what happened alot before I did SP, when I ate too few calories (not starving myself, just eating abt 1200 cal per day even with alot of exercise). I am eating much healthier, feel more accountable for what I eat, and as I said... most importantly, I don't feel deprived! I save about 150 cal every night for a "treat," and this has made a huge differenece. So, just wanted to let everyone know that slow loss is still progress! I love SP!

So far I've lost 18 lbs. Though, I may have actually GAINED a pound or two last week. We'll find out tomorrow :( I had a "bad week". I know it's normal but I still feel disappointed in myself for losing track of things. I didn't track calories between the 13th and today nor did I exercise until yesterday. I didn't do a lot of things.. Yikes!

However, the good thing that has happened is that my mindset about eating has really changed. Because, generally, I track my calories and also due to my very strict limits (medically supervised of course) I have begun really cutting out any calories that do not provide my body with as much nutritional value as possible. Overall, I just feel so much better!

Congrats to everyone and keep it up!

I'm really impressed by the nutrition tracker - knowing exactly how much I'm eating is making life so much easier for me.

I still haven't got the hang of regular exercise though. emoticon

It's funny how this week's Spark Message mentioned how "hovering over the toilet" can increase your glutes, I noticed this improvement in my strength the last time I visited a public restroom. Those pilates exercises DO pay off!

Well I haven't lost any weight... I loss some and then gain it back, because I can't get control over my eating. I will work on that next.

However, I have gotten back into exercising regularly! I started running again and I am continuing with my weekly dance class. I am really enjoying myself too!
