I have an aeogarden and love it. I'm not very good with plants but it's fool proof.

I still have herbs from this summer growing in my garage in pots but I'd love to start my own inside. :)

I love fresh herbs and have had an indoor herb garden for several years. Basil and cilantro are easy to grow and taste great in almost anything. I also have rosemary thyme and mint most of the time. I don't know about the indoor window box. My husband built a small table that sits in front of the window for my plants and it works great, no leaking or mess on the windowsill.

Hey howdy there!

I'd love to see what I could do with fresh herbs and such (and to make my own cilantro--a staple in my soups and i'm irritable without it). So many recipes taste great simply because of fresher herbs when its feasible--that and I want to try and make my own herb-infused oils and vinegars (can't find them and if i get it right, I want to make small bottles full for a gift basket for our fundraising raffle)

I was wondering if anybody'd put thought to making an indoor herb garden or had actually done so. I do have windows that face the sun nearly all day (and availability of artificial light if necessary). I was wondering what herbs you'd recommend I have, or if you have any fingers to point me in the right direction, that'd be great, too.

Also, does anybody know if there's such a thing as an indoor window box for gardening, like something you can put indoors in the windowsill, long skinny rectangular that has something under it so it'll catch the water and won't "pee" all over the windowsill? I'm not finding much, and i never get the search terms just right to find what I'm looking for. If they exist, do they work alright?
