Before freezing pancakes or waffles, I put wax paper between layers. If time allows, I also reheat in the oven on a low setting.

If you freeze them, it'll just take longer for them to get toasty. I wouldn't freeze them unless I didn't plan to eat them for a few days. Generally when I make waffles, I put the extra in a plastic bag and freeze them, and just grab one and defrost or toast.

Monday tip: Don't have the oil for a cake recipe? Try this.. Add mayo instead of the oil and it works just as good and there is no mayonnaise taste, and no one was any the wiser.

fancy salt and pepper shakers would be good for that and sugar, confectioners sugar, or anything else that would be sprinkled on top of food that does not come in a shaker.

I have found for the freezer burn--I started using that Glad saran that sticks to itself a whileao, and it is great. When I package something for the freezer, most the time I will will wrap it tightly in the Glad wrap, and then put it in a freezer bag, and I have no problems with freezer burn since I started doing that.

I also like it for small things. For example, if I open a can of tomato paste, generally I use one tablespoon or so and then there is the rest of the can left over. So I put tablespoon sized portions on a piece of the Glad wrap and then seal them as little portions and put it in the freezer, making sure to keep it flat until it freezes. Then when I want one tablespoon of tomato paste, I just cut one piece off. Same thing with breakfast patties--I but the Jennie-O turkey patties and do the same thing, so that I can take out one if I want.

Monday tip of the week? Goodbye Freezer Burn, for mild to moderate freezer burn, take meat and soak in cold water for a couple of hours. Not only will the mat be defrosted, but the water will rehydrate the freezer burnt area and it will be as good as new.

Monday tip is here: taco trick when you're assembling hard-shell tacos, there's no need for special equipment to hold them upright. Simply invert a muffin pan, place the empty shells between the muffin cups and fill them. You can even sprinkle cheese over the fillings and set the pan under the broiler.

Completely lost track of this thread--glad I found it again!

On the grease disposal--if you use oleo containers or any kind of plastic you have to wait for the fat to cool or it will melt the container. I also use empty cans for fat.

Hello and here is another tip for Monday: Don't buy presliced melon. Cutting up melons can transfer bacteria from the outside to the inside.Washing the exterior with a vegetable brush reduces any bacteria and pesticides, but there no guarantee that was done when the melons were prepared. The same thing is true of all sliced fruit, but it's especially important with melons that have rough webbing on their skin(it's easier for bacteria to get trapped in the grooves.)

We flavor our dog's food with a little grease too because he doesn't feel like his food is any good unless he is eating some of what we're eating. But I do try to be careful not to give him too much as he does have a tendency to gain weight. and I have enough watching my own.

Great tip for grease........ I usually use cans that I opened for supper...... or a jar that's unbreakable...... We use our big coffee cans to pour the grease from our deep fryer..... Let it harden in there.... and toss out...

Been busy yesterday running here and there but hey here is another tip: Save small oreo bowels and tops to put cooled drained grease from cooking,or other liquids that you don't want to pour directly in the garbage.
