I ordered only the upper body work DVD's for this series. I figure I have a lot of leg work DVD's from her step series and S&H and P90x leg workouts. Just seems like I have enough on that.

But, I am looking forward to trying out GS for all upper work. I hope biceps and shoulders turn out to be okay for me too. I have been focusing more on shoulders and hope that it's good for me.

I am also really liking slow & heavy a lot!

I came to this conclusion about the Gym Style series. I haven't done the legs yet and I will start soon. I love LOVE the chest and triceps. The back shoulders and biceps however I just don't get into that DVD at all. Not saying that it is waste of time but it doesn't have that I am going to get the job done feel to it so I haven't been doing it. It's packed up and ready to be returned.

If I can see it, then I can achieve it.

I don't think you can feel bad for going lighter with this series. I came over to post that I did Gym Styles chest/tris today and I think it is harder than STS. All those push-ups totally exhaust me. I could only bench press 1/2 of what I just did with STS because I was already so fatigued, and there weren't any breaks between sets. It is just a different type of lifting, but different is good. I figure as long as I'm feeling a burn in the muscles, I'm working and building muscle. I must agree though that you can get a good cardio workout lifting weights as well. Pushups always raise my HR as does heavy lifting.

Yes, I agree with Shanihib. Also, a body builder once said to me that any lifting program is a concept and may not work in it's entirety for everyone. It must be tweaked for each persons's individual successes and failures. But if you don't increase over time then you will not be challenging your muscle to bigger and better heights.

You want to take it to *your* limit, not hers. Cathe herself says this. She is very fit. Over time, you want to bump up the weights so that you increase over time, but you do it at the speed of your own body. :)

I've backslidden... I reached my goal and was now maintaining, but now I need to lose 10 pounds and firm up.

That's the conclusion that I came to because I'm not a quitter so I said I'm going to go lighter and see what it does. But lighter than what I was doing was already lighter than what she was doing so I'm wondering if I would get an aerobic effect instead of a toning effect?

If I can see it, then I can achieve it.

Yes, I agree, just go lighter on the weights. I seem to get the DOMS really bad when I do longer lifting (12 - 15 reps) too, as with STS. I had to lighten up on my legs, I couldn't even walk for about 4 days and then ended up in bad pain, as opposed to good pain, if you know what I mean.

I too have the gym style series. I tried the chest and triceps today and they were killer. It has been a while since I've worked out and I was wondering if I should go with something different and work my way up to this series?

If I can see it, then I can achieve it.

I think they're great, I especially like chest and tri's and legs. The back, shoulders biceps, ahh not as much. The first two are real burners. I agree with Kim (Kfears) the chest and tri's is her hardest for those two body parts other than STS.

I have all three and I've made incredible gains in the past four months using it. I use the supersets premix for chest and triceps though as this premix goes fast (I like it fast) and the burn is crazy nice! The supersets for shoulders, back and biceps is good too and I use that from time to time, but I like to go slow working on these muscles. Legs is really nice, but I also mix it with Butts and Guts.

I like Gym Styles. I think that Chest and Tris is the hardest chest workout she has. Starts off with a ton of push-ups which always wear me out, then you lift. Whew! I too like the floorwork on gym style legs. Floorwork always kills my rear which I need.

I just got gym style legs. I really like it. I have tweaky knees so I expecially LOVE the floor exercises. They are knee FRIENDLY!

I just purchased Cathe's Gym Style series... I wanted some feedback from people who have used this series and to know what kind of results you got...

Thanks, ~ Dee ~
