I combine running and strength training on the same day with no problem. Depending on how long you normally train, you could cut back a little on lower body ST on running days. My ST sessions are just 50 minutes so I didn't find it necessary to cut back.

I found it best to either run first or allow active recovery time following ST (ie walking) if I was running more than a short, easy run.

If you're not having fun, then why run?

Hi fellow Galloway runners, question for you all: I plan to increase my running schedule from 3 days per week to 4. 3 days is easy to break it up between running and strength training (my current schedule is run Tu/Th/Sa and strength train M/W/F). Saturday is typically my long run day.

Should I replace 1 of my strength training days with a run day? Or combine a run with a strength training day? Suggestions most appreciated!
