PART OF ME SAYS I DON'T EVEN LIKE RUNNING...YAY I DON'T HAVE TO ANY MORE BUT, I WANT TO RUN A HALF MARATHON JUST TO BE ABLE TO DO IT
I AM NOT GIVING UP ON RUNNING. I STARTED OUT NOT LIKING IT BUT NOW I LOVE THE CHALLENGE ...I CRIED WHEN THE DOCTOR TOLD ME WHY I AM IN PAIN. I START THERAPY ON AUGUST 18TH AND I REQUESTED AQUA THERAPY .

God is careful with me, he has promised a hope and future.

Has anyone tried aqua jogging while recoving from an injury? How did it go? I think I'll try it. I have plantar fasciitis now from trying to increase my pace and mileage and am looking at cross trainining options.

I am not familiar with what is meant by a "stress reaction." Something other than a fracture? What were your symptoms?

First advice is to get your doctor's recommendation. Second is to start back slowly and gradually, once you are cleared medically . If you were injured while doing 30/30, then start with something easier, like 15/30. Do not worry about pace. Keep it easy and focus on gradually increasing the distance. I would also recommend some strength work.

When I had my Achilles tendonitis injury a few years back, the orthopedic doctor I saw instructed me to be fitted with inserts (orthotics) for my running shoes. I started with Dr Sholls, but was advised by my favorite running store to switch to Superfeet last year, and have been happy as a clam since then! Dick's Sporting Goods carries Superfeet inserts as well.

Hope that helps...

I have been in a boot for the last 3 weeks for a stress reaction in the top of my foot. Have no idea how I got it because I was doing Jeff Galloway 30:30 with only a slight increase in distance. Not sure how long until I am cleared to run but Now I'm afraid to start running again for fear of another injury. What is the best way to get back into it without getting injured?
