Dee, great read. My first HM left me feeling drained and confused for more than a week. Same thing after my Chicago HM. Both times I pushed real hard for my goal pace. Both times I was careful at carb loading. I was completely depleted post race, not leaving anything left. For me, I did not feed myself enough after the race and the following days. I need to replace my lack of protein threefold.

Recovery is just as important to training as the taper. You can hit a wall after you cross the finish line. Take care and EAT!

My favorite post - race activity is soaking in a tub with Epson salts. Then again the next day.
