Yesterday I listened to a live Webinar by Jeff Gaudette referenced often in the article. He emphasized training at your current fitness level (pace times) and not training at your goal pace times - unless that is actually your current fitness level.

It was well worth listening to.

One of the links on Lisa Marshall's article links to an article on pacing by Jeff Gaudette.
