NOOMA341...I love the body weight exercises. I believe everyone should do them. They can be done anywhere and anytime. Most people can't even lift their own weight. P90X2 incorporates a lot of body weight exercises and balancing which is very important.

I would highly recommend this for a beginner.

NOOMA341, I'm just a normal kind of guy, not an instructor or any sort of expert. If you belong to a YMCA or similar, that would be a great place to start. If not, my suggestion is to look through the large amount of online content. I did a decent look but did not see anything that I'd put my name next to, but you may have some better luck. You may come up with a hybrid of the various info out there...

That sounds great PLMITCH! What would you recommend for someone who is just starting up. Quite frankly, I would consider myself to have a weak upper body. Something I want to change.

I incorporate them into my strength training sessions, most notably dips, planks and sit ups on a slant board that I increase the slant on after each set. The dips are great for upper body work...

Eww stinky yuck.

I prefer exercise that I enjoy and has staying power for me. Calisthenics would be the poster child for "not it."

Has anyone here considered/done calisthenics? I'm interested in trying it to build up my upper body. I would purely be a beginner at the moment.
