I understand. I took a Faith and Health class earlier this year and learned more about God's word and my body. When I learned more about my body being God's Temple, it opened my eyes to a different perspective of respecting my body. This is not my body. It is God's Temple. Therefore, one of my ways of honoring God is to take care of His Temple to the best of my ability. To be ready and willing to do what He wants me to do. That is where I came up with my nickname, FIT2SERV.

Have a great weekend Tom!
God bless!

Thanks, TXHRT! Working on the reduplication.

Hadn't really thought much about "Training in God's Name." I probably need to ponder that thought a bit. I've been exercising (such as it is) and watching what I eat mainly for "selfish" reasons--desire to lose weight, look better, be healthier, be there for my family longer, etc. While I've turned my life over to Jesus, I haven't really pondered how that works itself out in my efforts here. I got some thinkin' to do!

Peace,

Tom

Way to go Tom, I think you may have a program for success. Just stick with it and if things stagnate, just change things around a little. Alter your exercise program, or change your diet a bit. But sounds like you had a great week, and the start of some very healthy habits! Good job, Dude!

Hello, All!
Just a quick check-in, so Iíll post this to all my teams.
It just hit me earlier this morning that yesterday I completed my first week on SparkPeople, and today is the first day of my second week. I was just pondering how it is going.
First, I worked out at least 30 minutes on 5 of the first 7 days, skipping Saturday and Sunday, which is my plan.
Second, I tracked 5 of the 7 days faithfully. The 2 days I did not track were days in which something knocked me out of control of my food, such as the ďfinger-foodĒ party for my small group. I still ate according to plan, just didnít track it.
On another non-weight-loss, but more important note, Iíve spent time in my Bible all 7 days, which is also one of my personal goals.
A couple of other things lead me to believe Iíve been on the right track for the week. First, Iíve had some weight lossóalways a good thing in my book! Second, as I blogged about yesterday, I woke up yesterday feeling physically hungry, which tells me Iím not overeatingóin other words Iím doing something right!
All in all, Iím happy about that first week, and hope to continue to build that momentum into my second week.
Thatís about it for this check-in. Hope everyone is having a wonderful, and successfully healthy, day!
Peace,
Tom
