I know the feeling. When I first meet other men the conversation always turns to sports and I get a glazed look on my face.

Great question!

I have struggled with weight my whole life.
I didn't play sports as a kid. As a matter of fact, I made it a bit of a mission to hate all sports.
I've been in Martial Arts since I was 12. But I pushed out all other team sports.

No big deal right......
It affects me now more than I ever thought it would. It's awkward to be in a room full of guys talking football, and not be able to add to the conversation. It is also very hard to not be able to explain general rules, and technique to my 5 year old son who wants to play every sport.

Hi
, I was like Andy, gained all my weight late in my 30's. been working on staying in top shape for the last 8 years.
no regrets, just keeping active and have a daughter and son who race and train with me. and as a bonus, I have just started coaching my wife on her journey of weight loss and a more active life. So with Gods help I am making some great changes

Interesting question. Overweight hit me only after getting married and having kids. Rather ironic that when I was younger my goal was to be bigger. Hit it the wrong way.

As to the question, my regret would be the time and activities I lost with my kids because I wS overweight. I wish I had taken them hiking, more swimming, and just more time playing with them but because of low energy levels and poor endurance I sat back too often.

Been ruminating about areas in my life where I have had to make accommodations because of being overweight.
I wasn't involved in sports because I couldn't keep up.
I usually dated "who I could get" rather than "who I wanted."
Obviously could not shop in the trendier places - always had to be in the "Husky" stores.

So men, anyone else care to share?
