Hi Eddie: Hope that you are staying on a program. Set small, goals that are achievable, then set another one. This may help keep you motivated. Plus, check in here more often. Would like to hear about your progress.

I am happy with where I am.
I will stay here. One step at a time.

PLMITCH: It sounds like you have it figured out and have your plan and motivation on track. Congratulations on your record of goals and your steady progress. Very impressive.

I started working with the programs in SPARKPEOPLE last October and am very happy with my progress. Reading about your journey will really help me to stay motivated. Thanks.

Hi, Edwin, I agree with Mitch, Weight loss is 20% exercise and 80% nutrition. I think Insanity has a diet program. I have P90X but because of my age I have some joint issues I to lay off. I'm hoping when I lose some weight I"ll be able to do it. Start out with the modified version of the exercises. If it's too much for you go to youtube for some less intense workout. Then after losing some weight and getting in better shape do the Insanity. It easy to just give up because it's so strenuous.

Wish You Luck.

Edwin, I can't speak to Insanity, as I've never done it, but I assume it is this program: http://www.beachbody.com/product/fitness_p
rograms/insanity.do

Here's my 2 cents: Exercise is key -- believe me, I look forward to my daily exercise routine -- but, and this is a BIG but -- without a very good nutrition plan, you are very likely to fail! I say that because of experience! I convinced myself for years that I could just "exercise" my way to a better body, but at least for me, that did not happen, and I think that is true for a lot of guys and girls!

Take the time to come up with a sensible nutrition plan, and if you can do it, find a registered dietician to help you. It is so important to have BOTH a great exercise and nutrition plan!

Again, my 2 cents...good luck!

Hello guys Edwin here, recently...well for the past few months I had well just completely let go of my diet and the small exercises I was doing and I really don't know why I think its maybe because i got really lazy or just lost all the motivation i had to change myself. and because of that i swear i feel like i put on at least 10 pounds. Now I'm further back then i was when i started. But around last week i decided to get INSANITY and to be honest it looks insane and I'm not sure if an overweight guy like me can do it. I heard its possible but i just wanted to know if anyone here has done it. If so how was it? any tips? also this weekend I'm going to the mall to buy a new scale, active wear/shoes. so i might start it this Monday. Wish me luck everyone!!
