I was going to ask if it was your clothes or laundry detergent! If I use an off-brand detergent (we use All free and clear at Casa de Java), I REALLY stink if I sweat in my normal cotton shirts. I mean, green aura and plants wilting, animals expiring as I walk by. My Dri-fit shirts never seem to stink though. I like the idea of a deoderizing laundry soap though. Science is amazing sometimes.

I read somewhere that your sweat stinks when it has a chance to start drying, too. So... working out, you may not smell but after you've stopped and things start to dry out is when your neighbors may start dropping like flies from your stench.

You never regret the workouts that you do. You regret the workouts that you DON'T do.

If I can do it, YOU can do it!

I'm investing sweat equity into... me

Forgot I posted this, I figured it out....I was being cheap and bought some off brand laundry soap. Evidently, it had a deodorizing effect when your clothes got wet...Damnedest thing, so when I sweat, it activated the deodorant shield and that is what I spelled.

I think the only reason I was smelling it is that I've been practicing with proper berating, and after cardio, I was taking some deep breaths in through the nose and out through the mouth.

I've since gone back to odorless Tide.

Matt

I had a large subdermal cyst on my sternum for years. Was convinced I could smell a wierd oily tallow like sweat from that area. My wife told me she could smell nothing, never had complaints about my BO. I had it removed last year and I no longer smell it.

I have heard or read somewhere that sometimes people can smell things on them that others cannot. Not sure what this is called and its not very helpful. However if your wife doesn't think you stink and no one else does then *shrugs* who cares?

Granted I know what its like to make sure one is not smelly *chuckles* I am always on guard for that especially being a big dude. Still if its not bothering anyone and you get checked out by a DR and they cannot find anything wrong I dunno I guess I don't think its worth you worrying about

But you will figure out what is best and what works for ya ;) just keep at it

well, it seems you may not be alone?

All sources point to it being a sinus infection of some kind.
"Phantosmia is the term given when someone thinks they can smell something when no one else in the room smells the same thing. This can occasionally indicate an infection.

Disorders of the sense of smell can occur for many different reasons. Medications, metabolic disorders, and nutritional deficiencies are some examples."

...I know its not death that surrounds me, or maybe it is, just not that decay odor.

Lately, after working out I have a intermittent distinct odor about me that I only smell. I'm not talking about any rank BO, or even the sweaty BO....My wife confirms that I am not all stinky.

What I am smelling comes and goes, its not a constant, but it is hard to explain, it almost smells like "hospital", if you know what I mean.....kind of like a antiseptic odor. As I stated, my wife doesn't smell anything funky, I'm just trying to figure out if it is me, or mind....

Any thoughts? I'll even take those nonproductive comments, just for the amusement factor....

Matt
