Generally fat is near the muscles we use least. So you probably need to up your core training. Pilates is what I would recommend.
HIIT is for people with high fitness. I tried it once and my legs ached from lactic acid buildup right after and ached for days.

Get out and enjoy life

22% bodyfat or close to that.

Mr. Nitro would say do HIIT or 'cut' diet.

The last few pounds just don't wanna give up. What do you think your body fat % is. Don't body builder starve to get a low body fat % before a meet?

Why do you worry about loosing your muscle?
If you loose weight the proper way, by exercising and portion control (read here, . . follow the Sparks Plan), then the pounds (fat) comes off and not the muscle. If you loose weight properly and you drop in your bicep size, well . . . I'm sorry, but it was covered in a layer of fat.

You can be unsatisfied with your current condition and happy about your progress. Happiness cannot be conditional on us being satisfied with every area of our life, else we would never be happy. Rejoice and strive! (its been 26 years since I had a 32" waist)

As one of those who has a long way to go...the best advice I have to offer is to concentrate on the Core Exercises here on Sparkpeople, and to watch your intake with respect to foods.

Life is the future, not the past.

I am currently 190-ish and my goal is 180. That said I have made significant muscle gains since I picked up the weight. However, along with the gains have come some poundage around my waist. Six months I had NO VISIBLE love handles and now I have two little barely being able to handle, love handles. Noticable nontheless and that's bothersome.

I know how to lose the 10 pounds but don't want to lose any of my gains. I DO want my "V" back (my back use to have that classic "V" shape) but I don't want any inches lost on anywhere but my waist (my 32 jeans are a bit tight).

Again, I know how to do it, just not sure I WANT to do it at the cost it will take.

I'm such a whinner, I know. Can't I just be happy that I'm in the best shape of my life and that this little problem pales in comparison to other's weightloss journey?
