I have experimented with both morning and evening and I can't tell a difference for me. I have lots of time in the early morning and so my workouts start around 5 am and last until about 6:15-ish.

The only time I do workout in the evening is Friday nights for now. My workout is a four day split;

Tuesdays: Chest & Triceps (am)
~~approx 48 hrs. rest
Thursdays: Back & Biceps (am)
~~approx 38 hrs. rest
Fridays: Shoulders, Calves & Abs (pm)
~~approx. 38 hrs. rest
Sundays: Legs & Traps (am)
~~approx. 48 hrs. rest

This works for me.

I'm strictly a morning exerciser. Two children under the age of 4 makes waking up at 5 the only chance I have of realistically working out. When I get home I like to have dinner with the family and sometimes that will include a glass of wine...so working out after dinner and wine just doesn't work for me.

Well, I have a very weird schedule, so let's say that I work out when I wake up. That would be "morning" for me. How to get motivated? I always say to myself "I am just going to do 5 minutes" and than once I started I end up doing 30-45 60 minutes...

Mornings work for me because nothing interferes. After work, hard to commit to it.

I have the same problem so I do one hour in the morning and another work out after work, any where from 45 min to 1.5. problem solved.

I prefer morning but can must my resources for evening when needed

I have always preferred the morning work out. Get it done. I get up have coffee, eat a light breakfast and do a workout.

Generally, the wife and I work out in the morning; mostly because it is cooler and more tolerable. Due to all the mosquitoes our area has been having this year, we've started going to the rec center and working out on the treadmills. Still get the miles, and less bites.

Added benefit is that by doing the exercise first thing in the morning, you are more alert for the day ahead.

Life is the future, not the past.

So who likes to work out in the morning? How do you get motivated to do it? I've always wanted to have the motivation to get up early and workout, but just can't seem to do it!
