Finding time to exercise and be consistent with it

My diet needs major attention! I cannot seem to make myself prepare and stick to a plan. It's so much easier to prepare what I've been eating for years rather than new, healthier dishes.

I need to incorporate more vegetables into my daily intake and less sugar.

I know what needs to be done and how to do it BUT making myself do it is the challenge!

APRIL

Instead of focusing on what to limit, make a plan for the next day. Then you're choosing from a positive mindset and can celebrate each time you eat what you documented. I found after a time it eliminated choices, preventing bad choices. Something to try... :-)

I'm not eating right. I have all the right food in the house, and I know how to prepare a good healthy meal. But I'm in a rut and can't get the (good) meals made. Also, the more I concentrate on limiting snacks, the more of them I eat! I'm blaming winter! - Jackie.

Rosiesnow, maybe you should choose one of those to focus on for every weekend in February. Tomorrow is the first, so a great time to start a new goal. Maybe focus on doing a 5 minute video on Saturday and Sunday. Or, you could focus on drinking 4 glasses of water on one of those days. If it's too overwhelming to try to change both days, choose 1 day to make a small change in. Then, build on that success.

Other than being a world-class worrier (ugh!), I don't really have any struggles which come to mind right now. My eating and exercise are under control, though I have to track both for accountability purposes. But I'd like to ditch that worry-wart-it is! emoticon

Emotional eating has it's hold on me too!
My exercise has slipped in the last month too. I've been a very consistent exerciser for the past 9 years so this scares me terribly!!

I have two major hurdles that I am trying to overcome. The first hurdle is that I do not have a working kitchen. We are in a temporary situation where we are living in a dilapidated trailer that is not exactly livable....but, it's free. We are saving up to buy a house.

The second hurdle that I am trying to overcome is to find the motivation to exercise. I now have 4 workout DVDs plus the Spark videos that I could use. But, I do not have enough room to do them in. But, I am in physical therapy, so that is helping some.

Good news - I did 10 minutes of cardio yesterday, and12 today plus 20 strength.

My current struggle is motivation to exercise. I know I feel great afterwards but keep making excuses to myself.

Try to take one thing at a time. I found it easiest to first cut down to a 'recommended' portion size, with a goal of eliminating unless my calorie count allowed. Also planning ahead is important. You can do this! It just takes some work.
