I am not definite, but you may need to increase your intake slowly over time. If this doesn't work I would talk to the nutritionist.

My nutritionist increased my calories to 1700. I had been eating 1200. I feel too full and uncomfortable. I am not whining! It is just hard to eat this much after the year of lower calories. I have tried increasing calories in my main 3 meals and have added 3 snacks. It feels like I am always eating and always full --like at Thanksgiving. Any ideas?

Take it slow start with you first. Sit down and write out a plan of your meals. Then next other family meals. That may help you.It won't hurt to try it. emoticon

I don't know much about gluten free, but here is a link to the Mayo clinics diet recommendations. You may have already looked at it, but this might help if not! I know one of my fave go to meals is a small sirloin steak/ chicken breast/ turkey breast with steamed veggies like broccoli and carrots. Plus, I add in a starchy veg, like corn. It is a great balanced meal! I can see why the planning is adding stress, but hang in there! I bet anything you fix will be appreciated and as for your step-day, I think just staying away from the fatty foods will help! Anyhow, here is the link:

If you can afford it, consult with a dietitian or nutritionist to help you plan a week worth of menus and a grocery list to go with it taking into account all your food allergies and stepfather's special needs. It would be worth the expense to get rid of your anxiety concerning meal and snacks planning. Good luck! emoticon

I could use help with planning. I am required to make meals for 3 and between my allergies and my step-dad's conditions planning meals cause anxiety. I am allergic to chocolate, peanuts, beets, wheat, dairy, shellfish, potatoes, and coffee. I am not good at knowing what falls into what category, but my step-dad has gout, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, low sugar, low immune system, and arthritis.

Try having water with lemon in it. Everytime you want to binge take a drink. Make sure only eat at your meal times and maybe smaller meal portions throughout the day. Maybe even planning what you are to eat for two days and work at sticking to it. Give it a try. emoticon

I binge on almost anything that I am not allergic to. I do not know how to stop it, but other than yesterday (no portion control at a restaurant), when I stop it I get back into starvation mode. Before I went on to SP I was with no portion control ever and then from there I went right to starvation mode and have recently gotten in range and now I go between 720 calories a day to 3404 calories a day. I should be between 1310 and 1730.

What is going on that you are binging? The food you are binging on throw out. You can do it. Drink more water or make a smoothie(healthy) for a change of pace. emoticon

I am still binging quite often. In some cases exercises and sucking on something hard as well as gum seemed to work for me yesterday.

I have a question about the site. I went back to my weight tracker and added some entries from earlier (late January) and now on my ticker it is showing the January weight and not my current weight. How can I fix that?

Also, I noticed that on many of the entries by people, under their name shows how many spark points they have. How can I get my ID to show that?

Thanks

I do mainly ST no steps though, walking, treadmill, and stationary bike. I used to play soccer, but I have not done that for a while. I am not sure that I can anymore because of my sight. It had always been bad, but it kept getting worse for a while. I am a stress eater, think of food all the time, impulse eater, food addiction, eat when I am anxious, and food is my security blanket.

I have anxiety attacks and also uvitis. I have been told from one eye doctor that caffeine is a bad thing for people with uvitis. One dr. thinks that the uvitis is allergy related and caffeine can flare it up and another doesn't agree even though they both specalize in it. I will not buy any more and so far it works, but I do not know for sure if that is it or if I need to find something else.

I saw that you recently gave up soda, why and what is your plan to stay off of it?

I attend Towson University. I am am going for a BS in Information Systems.I have been thinking of teaching people who know nothing about computers how to do the very basics. In order to really get far I need to be certified and that requires test. I have test anxiety to the point that in some cases I go from a 100 down to failing multiple times. All I need is for my tutor to tell me to do something without looking as if it was a test and then in seconds she needs to calm me down. I am a lab monitor and some days I cannot get all the homework done and other days I do nothing but homework. The only thing that I seem to like is that I am almost always on time. The reason for this is that I have better control over when I leave and I am better with that then anyone in my family. I have family members that you need to tell them that it starts 2 hours before it does and others that sometimes are no shows without warnings and others an hour late. I play chess online and started suduku. I also play canasta, penachle, and rumicub. The easiest thing is to eat healthy during the main meals. It is when I binge that I have no portion control and during the snacks.

I am not sure how I got the site, but somehow someone emailed me about the site and I was not sure what it was at all. I thought to look at it before I joined and that wasn't allowed so I joined since it was free. I never even heard of the site and do not have friends around so I thought that it was strange.I chose this ID in order to have the same as one of my emails. I know that if I get too many different ones than I will be confused. I am hoping to get down to 125. I knew that I needed help getting out of a good number of bad habits and some I have gotten out of and some I am still having a lot of difficulties. I need to figure out how to stop binging, be a mindful eater, get in the healthy range the correct way, eliminate anxiety, get rid of negative thinking, get it so my body is not thinking of food all day, handle stress better, and get at least 7 hours of sleep. I know that this is a lot, so I will only do 1-3 at a time, but there are tons that I still need help with. I have gained weight since I graduated from high school and at that time I have been doing the yo-yo affect. I knew I could not stop that on my own. The nurse practitioner at the time told me that she was concerned because I have been going up and down like crazy for a couple years.
