I understand why you were upset with your husband. Mine is diabetic and last year he just would not listen to me and did not stick to his diet, nor measure his blood, nor take his medicine. Towards the end of the year, when he just would not keep his hands out of the sweets, I got pretty mad and sarcasticly asked why he didn't just take a gun and get it over with quickly. Unbeknownst to me he made a new year's resolution to check his blood and take his medicine again. When he did, he was in a shock. His numbers have never been this high and it scared him.

He is now following doctor's orders. It is still going to take a while for the numbers to go down again. He is eating more vegetables reluctantly and he is cutting out sodas. I hope it stays that way.

I am familiar with FlyLady. There is a group here called "flybabies". I am not really into it yet but I am trying to declutter my house. It'll probably take me all year.

I am not going to buy aother diet book. I have too many already. I end up doing what feels right for me anyway. I don't mind counting calories. This seems to work best for me. I am finally back to my pre-christmas weight. I thought that I would never see 202 lbs again. The next baby step is to go under 200.

This has been a long struggle, where I did real well the first couple of years and then slowly ended up gaining most of the weight back.

Hi Bienke, I have found Diet Hot Chocolate is a wonderful thing. We received a CoCoMotion for Christmas from Santa and it is great!! Diet Swiss Miss Hot Cocoa is only 25 calories a cup. I count my calories too, but if I'm stress eating I don't care. I still do it even though I know I'll regret it later and ask myself "why did I eat all that" even if I know I'll get a stomache ache.

Last night was not a good night for me I was very angry with my husband after finding cigarettes in the car. He is a Quadruple Bypass surgery survivor and has had stints put in the Bypass arteries. He was 31 when he had the initial surgery (12 years ago). Needless to say I ate any piece of chocolate I could find, until I just felt ill.

My sister just sent me an email from "FlyLady" she is a self-help kind of person, just type in FlyLady in your Google search. FlyLady talks about a book called "Body Clutter" I think I may look into it. It sells for a whopping $8.97 I think I can spend that much on myself for a change.

Thanks for responding.
Paula

It's been snowing here again and it is so cold. All I want is to snack on something real bad, like chocolate or cake. I think I'd better fix me a hot cup of tea and then go to bed.

Paula,
I am still working on losing all the weight I gained over the holidays. I am always shooting for one pound a week and most of the time it worked for me.

My downfall are the evenings also. During the day I write down the things I eat and at night I get all those little notes together and track my calories on SP then. That has kept me from snacking many times because I did not have many spare calories left. Try not to have those types of snacks in the house that are hard to resist. Go for the veggies and fruit.

Hello Wal-mart family!! I would like to create a challenge for you. I'm sure there are many of us who look at the "big" picture. I personally would like to loose 60 pounds. Sixty is such a HUGE number. Let's take it one day at a time.

1. This week I challenge everyone to loose 1 pound. For some it may take a few days for others maybe 2 weeks.

Report back once you've lost that one pound.

I have a tendency to sabotage myself in the evenings. I'll be good all day and then at night when I'm ready to unwind I eat all the bad stuff I can find. So tonight I'm proud to say I took control, I don't know what will happen tomarrow but dang it "I did it" tonight.

Next week I will present a new challenge, not necessarily a weight loss challenge. Maybe if we feel the responsiblity of reporting our do's and shouldn't have's we can help pull each other up and conquer this together.

So even if you have a bad day or bad week report back allow the others in our family to lift your spirit and give you support. Also tell us of your victories. I'll start another topic for just victories. So when you need that boost of confidence go there show yourself that it can be done and others are there to help you.

Happy squiggleys to all of you! and let's make 2007 the year that changed your life.

Thank you for being a part of this Spark Team.

Paula
