I seem to be working a few more hours, as we don't have a full staff as when I was hired, don't mind it since it's the holiday season and for the most part my co-workers are fun to work with with an exception of 1 or 2....

I have 3 Walmart's I could go to, work wise it's strictly my store because of the horror stories coming form the other 2, shopping wise I grab what I need while my shift ends...monthly shopping we hit the closest one to our home simply because hubby complains of gas cost considering I would by pass that one to shop at my store...the 3rd store we've had so many bad experiences we just avoid that one at all cost..

I find it interesting that different Wal-marts have different product selections for some things.

My Wal-mart does not carry Regular yeast in a jar. Bread machine yeast in a jar though.
the other Wal-mart that I sometimes go to does have it in a jar. Which I prefer.

Prices also vary for the same product, from one Wal-mart to another.

to be honest when I get off work I usually go to our local grocery because they are faster, very comparable in price and I know I will be able to find everything I'm looking for. Our Walmart doesn't even carry Angel Food cake mix emoticon I was so flustrated the first time I realized this because I had driven past our local grocery to Walmart to get that, frozen berries and cool whip... only to have to go to the local grocery anyways.

For my monthly grocery shopping to make less headache for me I drive to the Walmart in the next town (I live in the middle of the 2) because they do have a better selection there and I can find all our items there.

that's insane! I know, I worked the weekend only. and the 3rd was exactly like a Christmas Eve!

And on the 2nd, I was scheduled to go home at 10 pm.
I was on 17. 18 was the only one open.

I headed to customer service with items that customers left me.
As soon as I got into the customer service area, a customer came up
from behind me. She very loudly asked if I was going to open up some
registers. I turned to look at her and said 'What was that?' she repeated it
very emphatically, and was leaning forward and pointing behind her with
her arm. She said that that line is too long!
I looked to see it snaked from 18 all the way across the store up to celebrations/stationary!

I took her to the CSM and told the CSM, very calmly. that this customer is asking about opening lanes. The CSM was by the podium at 18. She said she already called management. about it.

The next day, when I went in. I asked the CSM about that line after I left. She told me that she had earlier, before I left called for Management to let her get cashier trained floor people to the registers. They told her no. they were unloading trucks. Later she called again. when the really long line formed. They ignored her! Never even acknowledged her call. She was mad. And yes the customers are the one who suffer.

This gets me.

Especially since every family who is a regular shopper at Wally world, spends on average the price of a good used car. They should be treated with the respect that even a used car buyer gets when they purchase a car.

Management is shooting themselves in the foot.
Because I heard many comments that night about how long the wait was to get to the register. Some saying they should shop elsewhere.

cept that we are the best deal around. Jewel is way more! and there is no Woodmans in close driving distance.

Everyone is working less hours.
Customers are feeling it.
Management is messing up real bad in this decision to cut so many hours.

We also shop there. And if we earn less, then we also are going to spend less!

I just shake my head and wonder how long this will go on.

Just about 2 months ago, remember? walmart responded to a survey that stated that shopper where going elsewhere because of long lines.

Management responded by having more cashiers on 2nd shift that went home later.
And more cashiers on 1st shift that came in earlier. Smart move.
but it only lasted about a month!

I am working more hours.... we are a tourist town and I am still in temporary status till Aug 19, I expect that my hours will drop after that day.

On average our daily schedule has 2 shifts where no one is scheduled... July 4 (being our Black Friday/Christmas) was the first week with the reduced labor hours scheduled and man did our customers let us know what they thought of them.

How many are now working less hours?

These are days to put our trust in Him. Not our paychecks or employers.

Getting back to basics is important.
