Wouldn't that go against the "open door policy" or is that a goner also?

seems they are in reality upping the odds of a re-injury.... yes I work through the pain, and do have friends who protect me too.... I do wonder if anyone from the company reads these posts, and IF I am not just risking payback.....

Wow, I thought this kinda thing was just at my store, but I hear there's a lot of this type thing happening at all Wal-marts. Such a shame. Most of us would probably change jobs, but there are none available. Sorry to say, there's not much we can do besides grin and bear it. Such a shame, it used to be a GREAT place to work. Now everyone is looking over their shoulder, a lot of older folks being let go too.

HO will not help because it is one of their policies that you have to be able to do the job or you are out. I went through that when I had my hernia operation and I was sent home a few weeks after I had worked PT with limitations. They didn't catch it the first time but caught it when I brought a doctor's note that I can work FT but not lift more than 10 pounds. Good thing I had short term disability insurance even though they gave me a hassle since I had gotten back to work already.

The only time Walmart will accept a limitation set by a doctor is when you have a workmen's comp related injury. Any other time you will have to stay home until you are at regular strength.

I have learned not to make any waves when I have problems lifting due to flare ups of my RA and arthritis. I have a few good friends who are more than willing to help me with the things that I can't do. I in turn help them with other things that I can do.

The official word is that they can't accept limitations because of the high chances of you getting hurt more on the job and that would then fall under workmen's comp which costs the company money.

This has been a long struggle, where I did real well the first couple of years and then slowly ended up gaining most of the weight back.

Has anyone checked with home office about this? seems to me there is something going on here that needs checking. We had a bad store managers a few years back and they called homeoffice, we complained, they held meetings with us and finally he was gone. Just a thought.

We have had 3 people quit, all 3 had a doctors not (lagit cause) to be put on 2 weeks light duty, our store sends anyone with such a note home for the full time, so out wages if not having sick time available, if you can not lift 25 pounds you are unfit for work!thyis is so stupid, we are short handed to start with, and at least the "walking wounded" can zone, do light stocking....etc... my old store had no problem with this, but this store is so low, that they just sap away any desire to do ones best, most people hate the place already, and we have only been open from 9/16/09.... I myself do have such a note, they want doc to fax a new note as she did not put a weight such as can lift to???? so now must have 25 pounds or I lose 2 weeks pay... some how this doesn't seem right....BTW I have tendinitis in my knee, and bursitis in my hip....same side, UGH!!! so lifting is BAD thing, I lift right using my legs not my back....
