Welcome to this group. I hope tht you will like it here. SP has helped me tremendously with my journey to a healthier life style. I am still struggling with my weight because sometimes you just get tired of counting calories. Because of my arhritis I am not exercising much and that makes a big difference. I am happy with my current weight as long as I don't gain any of it back.

How did you manage 28 years with Walmart? You deserve a medal. I am at a 24-hour Supercenter and have been with Walmart for 12 years.

This has been a long struggle, where I did real well the first couple of years and then slowly ended up gaining most of the weight back.

Hi everyone, I have been with Walmart for 28 years.
I am currently working in the accounting office in a
division one store.I found the sparksite and was excited. When i found the Walmart team I felt like I
found home.Discussing problems with the people that
understand makes it somewhat easier to deal with. emoticon

That would be great Joyce.

I hate that word "obese" even though I have been it for many, many years. My wake up call was when my granddaughter said, "sit down grandma and play with me." Well, I sat on the floor and then had to scoot to the steps in order to get up.

I've had a bad knee for a long time and last year I found out that I had arthritis in both knees and I had the worst one replaced this past February. Since the change in the policy for leave of absence took place, I wont be able to have the other one replaced until the beginning of next year. That knee is giving me so much grief now that it doesn't have to support the other knee anymore. I think it is making up for lost time. I never suspected that the left knee was so bad.

Now I am trying to lose weight without doing extra exercises which is very hard to do. I have to lose more weight though to make it easier on my bones.

I may still be obese but it sure made me happy when I moved from the plus size clothes to the regular misses size. Talking about having a natural high...

The next goal is to get rid of the obese label.

Sabine

Thank you for answering. The obesity at my store is astounding and we all need to support each other. My doctor gave me a wake up call and we need to do that to each other for "life's" sake. Maybe we can shake up this site and make it alive.

Joyce, welcome to our group.

We havehad a lot of new members lately but regretfully people don't post too much after their introduction. What a shame, I think.

Like you, I believe that keeping track of your food intake is very important. It is also much healthier to bring your own lunches than picking up some fast food. In your case, that alone may be a challenge.

I had to put the exercising part on the back burner this year. Arthritis is really giving me a hard time and all my energy is used up at work, it seems like.

This has been a long struggle, where I did real well the first couple of years and then slowly ended up gaining most of the weight back.

Hi everyone,
My name is Joyce and I have been with the company for 15 years. I am a HR/FE Assistant Manager and have been in management since 2001. Currently I am at 2047 in Palmyra, Maine. I have been on SP since 7/7/08 and have lost 13 lbs. Tracking my food intake and exercising has been my main focus. The best way I can track my actual weight loss is with my clothes. Right now I have killer calves. This is a God send to me to find this post because this is where I would be comfortable posting. Looking forward to sharing with all of you.
