The first challenge is on. So far I have had 2 cups of decaf cofee (does that count?) and one cup of water.

I usually bring my water bottle(s) with me. But during the weeks I have to work an O/N, I sometimes give in and get a diet soda. (Need that caffeine.)

I did buy soda today. TWICE!!!! First time in several weeks,I was too lazy to walk back to my dept. and get my water bottle. I think that not buying soda will be a new personal goal of mine along with not eating fast food.

I am game too. I would not worry about the guy who fills the soda machine. He probably paid cash for his car. Ha ha I don't even remember the last time I wasted my money on a soda machine.

I'm game!!!! Just got home from work and packed my lunch. A lunch w/lots of fruit and veggies. Back to work at 7 am. That's Walmart for you. I've given up buying soda from the vending machine.....saving lots of money. I am worried about the poor guy who fills the diet pepsi machine who probley gets a cut from the sales of those machines and because of me will more than likely be unable to pay his car payment.

Who is ready for a challenge? Let's begin this Sunday, May 25 through Saturday, May 31. Since it is recommended on our nutrition trackers that we consume at least 8 cups of water a day, I thought we could begin with meeting our daily water consumption. Each day we meet our minimum 8 cup requirement would be 1 point - a total of 7 points for the week. Then each week after that, increase our point value by adding another goal.

What does everyone think of the time frame of the overall challenge be from Memorial Day to the Fourth of July?

The calendar doesn't make any difference. We just need to get started.

I have a sports bottle that I fill half way and stick into the freezer. In the morning I fill it up with water and then place it in a foam wrap that they sell for bottles. I have it on me most of the time and still forget too often to drink out of it more frequently.

My vote is for minutes exercised or amount of water drank either daily/weekly.Seeing as we all work maybe a weekly challenge would be best. We could have a weekly/month "weigh in"

OK, let's have some suggestions and then vote on it.

We could do:

.... minutes of exercising

.... miles walked, ran, biked, swam (maybe track it from west coast to east coast)

.... glasses of water

.... servings (lbs) of vegetable/fruit

I thought that we could start with the basics - meeting the daily requirements for water; eating a minimum of five fruits and veggies a day. Each week could be a different challenge.
