i completely know how you feel. I was a cashier last year and this year I'm at the customer service desk. So I definitely hear the complaints ALL the time, but the holidays always bring out the worst in everyone it seems.

I agree with everyone else. Break room vent, vent here, do your best to tell the customer that you will pass their concerns on, and agree that things are really messed up.

Hang in there. It'll be over soon enough. :)

Try not to take it personal. Take the wind out of their sails by agreeing with them. Deep down inside you can always think "if only you knew how stupid you are."

This has been a long struggle, where I did real well the first couple of years and then slowly ended up gaining most of the weight back.

Welcome!

This time of year brings out the best and the worst in people. Common sense just disappears. Everyone is in such a hurry (9 times out of 10 just to go nowhere). I'm glad that Break Rooms were invented so we can go and vent.

I have been in reatil for the past twenty years. What has helped keep me sane this time of year is just to listen to what their complaints are, let them know that the info will be passed along to the approiate person, and tell them to "Have a NICE day!" There are things that are beyond our control, and sometimes it is better to just smile and be as nice as we can be.

Now that the holiday season is upon us once again, it's like people have lost all manners and common decency. How can I help it if your favorite item is out of stock? I'm only a cashier. How can I help it if lines are terrible? I go as fast as I can, but I can't stop people from giving me ten dollars in change cuz they want to get rid of change... How can I help it if you come to the fast self check lanes and get mad cuz your there for longer than a normal lane? I can't help they turned the scales on and the machines keep messing up....
How can I stay patient with these people??? Especially when all I want to do is EXPLODE at them all for being so rude and DUMB!!!!

One day at a time....
