Today I am willing to do a 3 mile walk away the pounds youtube workout 1 mile at a time and stay within calorie ranges, track my food and drink at least 8 glasses of water. I am also willing to read my meditation books and go to a twelve step meeting.

Oh my gracious, how I DID NOT want to do my measly 15 minutes of activity! I worked all night, it's freezing cold out, and I just plain 'ol didn't want to do it. I texted my complaint to my sponsor and she encouraged me to do it. It is after all only 15 minutes. As I was driving home from work I remembered that I never prayed about it. Praying throughout my recovery is something new that I often forget and need to remember. So I prayed for God to provide me the motivation to get my physical activity in. I came home and realized that I didn't have to do anything vigorous or outdoors so I found some plus size yoga videos online. My 15 minutes led to 28 minutes of incredible activity.

So.....all that to say that today I am willing to put in my 15 minutes of physical activity which is one of my abstinence requirements. emoticon

Food is my master, over which I am powerless

Did you make your call? I felt scared the first time I did it, too.

Today, I am willing not to weigh myself, as per my plan for this month to only weigh myself on Wednesdays and Sundays. I am getting down to only weighing once a week, then once every two weeks, then every 3, then once a month! Baby steps.

Today I am willing to put all my feelings aside and visit my Dad. My Dad and I have a love hate relationship. He is hyper-critical of my life choices and I have a hard time understanding that. I have come to realize it is a control issue on his part. Example-one day he decided he wanted to buy me a house but as always came with stipulations that I wasn't willing to make. I told him I didn't want it. He still ended up buying me the house and not putting it in my name. I lived in it till I could afford my own. Now the house is rented but I have to pay all the taxes, hoa etc. At times I resent this.

Today I am going to finally develop my OA Action Plan (AP). This will help me identify and implement attainable actions, both daily and long-term, that are necessary to support my abstinence and emotional, spiritual and physical recovery. This AP, like my plan of eating, may need to be adjusted as I progress in my recovery. I am SO GRATEFUL for the OA tools of recovery and other OA members. It's good to know I'm not alone! Today I am willing to reach out to other OA members BEFORE I take that 1st compulsive bite instead of spending hours "thinking" of how to disengage from my strong desire to put something in my body that does not contribute to my physical and mental well-being. I am willing to continue my abstinence from sugar and simple carbs, not even one bite because I know they will make me want more. I am willing to drink 10 cups of water a day. I am willing to not be in the kitchen if the only reason I'm in there is to sabotage my progress with unconscious eating.

That's the second time in a few minutes I have read "chocolate chip cookies". They are a weakness of mine. Especially home made ones.

However, with my HP's help, and my program, I can avoid that first bite as well.

my husband wanted choc.chip cookies saturday, so i made them and i am powerless over them. my goal is to not take the first bite because i know that i will not be able to stop with one. so far so good, one day at a time. emoticon

An OA friend of mine and I have been talking a lot about willingness lately. Sometimes we text each other to say what we are willing to do that day for our recovery. Feel free to share something you are willing to do today to strengthen your program, stay abstinent, etc.

Today, I was willing not to weigh myself. I weigh once a month, and today was not my weigh in day. I was also willing to go to a water aerobics class for the first time in many years.

Grateful to be on the path to recovery from compulsive eating--one day at a time.
