My knees have been feeling a little better the last few days, so things are easier. I made it to the gym three times this week, which is my goal!

I feel you Barbara, I am developing arthritis in my big toe and when I start walking in the morning it takes a few minutes to walk comfortable. However, the more I do the easier it gets! My knees are much better than they used to be. So I will just fall apart much more slowly! I also found out at my last bone density that my spine has improved since the last one. It does pay off.

It was gorgeous this morning. Mornings have been to muggy and hot to walk to work, I get there all sweaty and stinky but this morning I was able to walk!

Remembered my ipod this morning!! I hurt. But I have felt lately that my age is catching up to me. It takes a while to get the stiffness out when I get up in the morning!!

Finally got myself out on a Sunday morning to the gym!! Yay! BUT...when I was just far enough from home that I wouldn't go back, I realized that I had forgotten my ipod, so it was so boring!

I love going to the gym on Sunday mornings---but I also love not going to the gym on Sunday mornings! And it is so easy not to go. Sigh. I skipped this morning. I have been having problems with my knees lately and the toes I broke are still a little sore, so I keep excusing myself.

We had a cool day also. Our street had a block party and it worked out perfectly. We did get a little rain but not too much so the kids had a wonderful time.

We are supposed to be in the upper 70s and low 80s this week. I will definitely take that.

It was in the high 70s today, but I did get some weeds pulled. Was going to go back out after dinner, but it is sprinkling now. If it quits before it gets too dark, I might go back out.

It's cooled down to a manageable 92. I've gotten so accustomed to 100 plus so 90 is nice!

Moving when it is hot is not fun, Years ago when we moved into our first house it was 106 degrees the day we moved. My husband and his buddy unloaded the van at midnight because it was so hot during the day!

It has been way to,hot in NE Florida to work outside. I have tried to work inside and I even have gone to Sams Club to grab a cart and rush up and down the aliases at a break pace. Throw a small item in the cart and leave. Also we are moving to a new home and it is hot just moving items out of my cat

Keep on track

I agree that those kind of temps are NO GOOD! emoticon And yes, if/when they show up, it would be useful if it would in fact "melt" the fat. emoticon
I can't think of man, plant, nor animal that benefits from that kind of HEAT. emoticon
(Do I sound like I'm spouting!?!)

Anyway, the "good news" is that my trip to the acupuncturist today resulted in her declaring me officially on "maintenance" (after 10 months of actively/weekly working with her). -- Now I can go in 1x per month, or whenever I feel the need.

Hi all I have definitely been MIA this summer. Too much going on and too busy at work. I am on a computer all day at work and the last thing I want to do when I go home is get on a computer again. I thought I would stop by and say hello and try to jump back in here.

That's why I got rid of my weight tracker and changed it to exercise minutes. emoticon

I hit my goal weight exactly 4 yrs ago. But in less than 3 months from that point, I began the add-on (& on & on) and I kept adding/plateauing until this June. That's why I'm encouraged for the first time in a LONG time...

I can't bring myself to change my tracker. Sadly, I've gained nearly 20 pounds back in the last 2 tears, and nothing I do seems to help at all. I keep working at it.....

Good for you. That sounds like a reasonable plan.

I just noted your weight tracker. You've certainly accomplished a LOT! emoticon
And I noticed that your "target" weight is what mine pretty much is /should be. It's just going to take awhile for me to get there again. (Next week is my 9-yr anniversary on Sparks.) You'd think I'd have figured it out by now, but it seems that life keeps sending "curve" balls and I keep having to adjust and figure out the healthy response. I "pay" for the many unhealthy responses that have occurred over the past 4 yrs...
emoticon
I've been studying here & there about "set point". The suggestion is to lose 10% at a time--then maintain that for 6 months before attacking the next 10%. The claim is that It helps the body find a new "norm". Anyhow, I'm not yet halfway on that 10% with a goal of accomplishing this by Christmas...the gift of better health to me!

I'm sorry for your injury! -- How did you do that? How long do they think it will take to heal? We forget how much we take health for granted until there is an injury to some part...
emoticon
I thought I had done something to my foot when I jammed my toes into the bed post after a night time bathroom excursion...
emoticon
Walking felt like I was walking on ROCKS under my foot. -- After 10 or so days with it not getting better, I went to my AMAZING chiropractor who is a whole-body doctor. He adjusted my jammed toes (3) and they were able to begin healing. Go figure! All that for 3 stubbed toes!?!

Hope yours get better quickly!

I broke two toes last week so I had to skip exercise! I did go to the gym yesterday and did 45 minutes on the elliptical plus my strength work, but it may have been unwise!

I let the scale bum me out today. First time since mid-June that it's clearly gone "up" vs stay the same or gone down. emoticon I know why. Been going back to "bad" habits. SUGARS get me every time! Gr.r.rr.r.

At least I'm continuing with a 22-day walking streak! I'm getting in over 10 mi walked each week. Just need to reign in my food choices AGAIN!

20 team pts today!

Managed to spend about 4 hrs at the local County Fair. I did NOT eat any fair food. I just drank plenty of water! Spent LOTS of time walking & looking. Really couldn't see any good reason to go anymore. -- DD raises critters that will be entered in halfway through the 10-day run. So, back again next Wed.
