I struggle to just stay where I am. Exercise has been a little harder lately, but I keep plugging away

Still working on getting food in balance with intermittent fasting. At least the scale has dropped for the first time this year! emoticon

Most of my extended family is gone and/or dispersed. Wouldn't know how to reach most of them if I wanted to.
Hiking is always an enjoyable way to explore & exercise at the same time!

In my hometown for a family reunion and to see a couple of my high school friends. Today I walked 4.45 miles of the Keuka Outlet Trail with my brother and sister-in-law. It was a fun walk with them and tracked by the GPS on my Polar M400 watch. Neat to see the map of where we went.

After a long break from heat and sunshine, actual summer seems to have arrived here. The nice/fun part is that now I'll actually be able to enjoy some of it since the farm has finished its course. Hopefully it doesn't go too high. emoticon I really do best when it stays BELOW 85 degrees.
-- Being as this is an "older" group of ladies, some should understand the ongoing personal "heat" events! emoticon I already sleep w/ half the blanket covers as DH.

Had a massage today & will see acupuncturist on Monday. Trying to resolve difficulties sleeping well since end of May. Sigh...

Back into walking most days. It's where I'm starting. -- Next to add in kettlebell swings! emoticon
The month is moving along slowly. I will be thankful when I don't have to engage in customer service on a daily basis. Should be done by end of month!

I may have hit the point this morning where I finally do something about this problem. I know that I have been going to bed slightly later for a long time, now. I am going to force myself to start scaling back, gradually to an earlier bedtime and see if that helps in the morning. I definitely feel better all day if I get up earlier.

I really hear the inability to cut short the night. (I've had way too many short nights with not enough sleep. Then I can't cope w/ the day. Eating choices fall away, etc!)

I've tried not to give myself the "out" to not hit a step-target for the day. It becomes non-optional (as much as reasonably possible). It helps that I'm seeing the scale respond to my choices. (First time in over a year!)

I just can't get up that early any more without consequences! I feel as though I had been run over by a truck for the rest of the day!! I have been finding getting to the gym a little challenging lately. It is so easy to blow it off!

I usually get out at 6am for my morning run. It is even HOT that early. Guess I will have to set my alarm for 5. It was really hard to breathe this morning!

It can be very hard to get in exercise in hot, humid weather. Sorry!

My plan of action is working right now! -- 5#'s down since I started intermittent fasting last month.

Another topic I've studied is with regards to SET POINT. If one takes the time (6 months) to lose 10%, then the recommendation is to stay at that stage for 6 more months before targeting another 10%. The idea is to shift the brain's set point so that the body doesn't fight with you to regain the weight.

For now, 10% for a Christmas gift to myself is the "target". emoticon

After last summer's high temps & drought, I'm very thankful for any cooler weather and the rain that came in June. Looks like the upcoming week will be in the 70's. Works for me!

I've been experimenting with intermittent fasting and it seems to be helping. My goal is to reduce blood sugars & deal with insulin resistance. I've eliminated snacking and dropped to a 7-hr span for approx. 2 meals. The rest of the time I've kept hydrated w/ green tea & lemon water.
...baby steps! emoticon

Already. At least we are having relatively cooler weather this week--only in the mid-high 80's. Practically a cold snap after the well over 100 degree weather we have been having.
