I opted out of swim class, and I'm sorry that I did. I miss the calming effect the water has on me.

But I have kept up with my daily routine, 50 'sinkups' and other exercises and it seems to be working. I've dropped another size!!! YAY

Good luck Berry, getting back on track - hope you had a great time wherever you went!!

It's Monday & time to get back into the swing of things. DH & I were gone for almost 5 days, so plenty to get done this week.

Need to jump on the exercise bandwagon and keep my mini 3-week streak of more than 188 min each week! -- I have quilting to do, junk to toss, and errands to run.-- At least I got some of the laundry caught up Sun. PM.

Trying to decide if I should race around this morning or skip my swim class so I can be assured of getting my other obligations done on time. Plus I have a headache.

I will do my regular morning routine, whether I go to swim class or not. Better make up my mind!

The concept of seasons has always been different in California but it is becoming less and less a thing! With 90 degree weather in March, what vegetation hasn't succumbed to the drought is so confused!

Morning routine in.

Did not get out to tackle clean up yesterday - I just got too cold in the house! And, let's face it, I didn't want to.

Going this afternoon to help my sister find a Mother of the Bride dress - Should be fun!

We are going back into the freezing zone for a while, just when I was thinking I could get used to spring!

Frannie, I now live in Rome City about 40 miles north of Fort Wayne where we moved from. You could say a bit closer to Chicago LOL. If you google Sylvan Springs that is where we are. My husbands new job is renovating those big buildings in the pictures.

As for our yard I only know I have a spiaria (sp) bush. I can see green shoots pushing up and I think they could be tulips. I need to add cleaning the flower beds on my to do list. One window broke (very old and slid down on its own) and have to clean that out of the flower bed.

We are coming out of a 4 day 90 plus streak. It had been unpleasant, to say the least. We had the LA Marathon this past weekend and nearly 200 people were treated for heat exhaustion.

Wow, Berry, that's pretty impressive, crops early and all. What do you grow?

I am beginning to see little signs of life here and there - why are the weeds the first thing to flourish? Will be colder out today, but I am going to try to get out to do some clean up work, I have maple trees that I cleaned up after last fall - WHERE have all these oak leaves come from??? Wonder when they start yard waste pick up. Wish the website actually addressed these issues!

Berry, that wind sounds scary, but I will take the flowers blooming. We don't have any yet but crocuses should start coming up soon. We have to be very careful about planting anything early because you can get a surprise freeze right through May.

It was in the 70s yesterday and is going to be in the 40s today. Oh well, I knew it couldn't last but we had a nice long spell of warmer weather after all the cold and snow. The snow is all gone except in parking lots where they piled it up into massive hills. It will be awhile yet before that is gone.

Winter passed us by in the Pacific Northwest. We've had some nasty wind storms, blowing quite a few trees over. (Power out again this weekend for a couple of hours.) -- We've lost over a dozen trees on our property alone. Thankfully, nothing on structures...other than fencing.
Everything has been in bloom and temps in the 60's. We are looking at crops being almost 30 days early--more so than ever before (at least in the past 26 years!).

Frannie, you and I share a lot of weather, I'm outside of Cleveland. God Bless those Lakes!

Everytime daughter rubs it in about the temps, I tell her maybe so, but WE have the fresh water, so there.

Woke up early with a headache, got half my routine in and breakfast - didn't help. And now I'm going to get hungry for lunch too early! Well, a couple ibuprofen and back to bed, maybe.

Barbara, that is a bit warm for March!

Jumpup, we have friends in AZ and they love to call us with temp updates. Both of my brothers in TX like to do the same, one is in San Antonio and the other is in Galveston.

Valorie, where do you live? I live right outside of Chicago and winter lasts forever here!

We don't have anything coming up yet, I am going out in a bit to check on the garlic I planted last fall and see if anything is peeking up. It has been really cold until this last week but has warmed up nicely since Monday so they may start coming up soon. I need to get the beds ready for lettuce and radishes. I also want to get some spinach in before too long. We have a garden in the far back of the yard for tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers and then behind the house we have raised beds for herbs and veggies that can stand more shade. My daughter tries flowers but they don't like the shade so I am going to try to get her to plant something more appropriate and we can choose another place for the sun loving flowers.

Oh, Barbara, I feel for you!

My daughter in AZ just sent pics of the kids in shorts and sleeveless. Doesn't seem fair to me at all!

Rain again today, but yesterday, I saw a couple snowdrops blooming in my planting bed!!!! And the dafs are up about an inch. YAY!

This week has been Spring Break at the Community College where I take my exercise classes - I'll be glad to get back to it starting Wed!

We have had really beautiful weather, I have been able to walk home from work everyday! The snow is almost gone, mostly it is still in parking lots where it was piled really high and has frozen, those will be around for a lot longer.

Our winter usually lasts through March and into April. The last freeze date for planting is the middle of May but it is so nice to have some warm weather even if I know it will probably get cold again!

We have finally made it over the freezing mark for a couple days in a row - and snow has mostly melted! Supposed to rain today and tomorrow, so that will take care of the rest of it - and let's HOPE that's the end of it!

Who am I kidding? This is the city that had their home opener baseball game called on account of a blizzard in APRIL a few years back!

Can't wait to get out in the yard and start spring clean up, I am so OVER snow shoveling!
