Sorry Barbara, it has been a busy November! My heater busted on Friday, didn't get anyone out until Tuesday and then they have to come back today. It is chilly! I went out a bought one of those fake electric fireplaces that is also a heater and it does help take the chill off the living and dining room. We have a little space heater for the bathroom and just bundle up under blankets at night. I have not posted at all for a few days.

I stayed home from work waiting for the repair man, so I cooked. I made apple sauce, chili, marinara sauce and meatballs. I have been trying to cook ahead in bulk so I would have freezer meals so I thought since I couldn't leave the house I would cook.

Well...I'm going to the eye doctor this morning, finally relenting that I NEED real glasses, lol. Been researching new nutrional info. for weight loss as my menopause is just not letting me lose weight no matter what I do, trusting God to guide me on this. Exercise has been deep cleaning my house....like closet to closet, room to room....getting rid of a lot of stuff we haven't used in years....keep looking at all those items as a symbolic weight loss and hope it translates. I definitely feel cleaner in spirit, not holding on to "things" when it might really help someone else. All is going to charity causes, thought about doing the garage sale thing but my guys can't handle it, lol. Besides, what I give away may be what somebody really needs.

Rain on the horizon today. Have some yard work to do (always), hope I can get it in. I've got 2 trees in back yard, one turned blazing red and is about half down, the other is still green - go figure.

Got my sinkups and weights in. Looking for something to add to morning ritual. Maybe those leg lifts....

Have a wonderful day!

I couldn't do a pull up when I was younger, that isn't even on my radar, I can do a plank too but have to agree with the elbow bending!

It was a gorgeous weekend here, it looks like Fall, there are leaves falling, the colors are so pretty! When I walked to work this morning I watched the sunrise and just really enjoyed it. I don't look forward to winter at all but fall can be so nice!

Doesn't matter what you call them, as long as you do them!! I can't do a regular pushup either. I can do a plank, but bend those elbows? No way, I just collapse. I will keep trying though. (my dream is to be able to do a pull up, sigh. Maybe in my next life.)

Going for a mammogram today, my favorite thing to do. Bring on the ibuprofen!

sink ups: my version of a pushup done against the sink!! Somehow for as long as I've been doing sink ups, I still can't do a real push up!

Anyway, got em in this morning along with my weight work.

Going out with sister and niece who is here from Boston for a long weekend. I'm sure this will involve food so I must be very careful.

Thanks Appy-Laurie

Congrats Mckatenh - that is an accomplishment to be proud of! On to the next 365!

I upped my sink up reps to 20 this morning - 2 sets with about 30 secs between, and did my weights. More yard work and laundry for the rest of the day - sunny day, gotta make the most of it!

Here in the Pacific North"wet" we are dealing w/ LOTS of rain right now. Had a tornado w/ damage along the WA coast. VERY unusual!

I need to transfer my workouts to the gym. I just don't do "water-logged" very well!

MCKATENH - that is really awesome, let us know when you finish and how it made you feel.

I know I have more energy now, I am exercising regularly again and it definitely makes a difference. I have not done 365 days in a row but I try to exercise now at least 5 days a week, 30 minutes a day.

Barbara, good luck in the garage, that definitely is a workout.

It is supposed to get warmer this weekend, almost up to 70 so I hope to work in the garden, I need to start cleaning it out for winter, cutting back the perennials and pulling out the annuals. I won't do too much yet because so many are still blooming and I want to get as much bloom as I can. I also have to bring the house plants I put outside for the summer back inside. I have so many now it is hard to figure out where to put them all but I don't want to get caught by a freeze. It was almost too cold last night, there was frost on the car and I didn't know it was going to get so cold so inside they come on Saturday!

I have to miss my regular gym day tomorrow because I will literally be a prisoner in my house due to road work on my street. Long story. So my goal is to work in the garage--that is definitely exercise.

Thanks Frannie!

Did my sink ups, 2 sets of 15, this morning, plus some weight work. Just about ready to squeeze into the bathing suit for my class. After that it's all yard work, all the time today.

Hope you all are having a great day.

I'm back - hope you all missed me, LOL!

Had to take a break, but I'm back in the game. I'm in a water walking class and being careful of my nutrition. I've lost 10 lbs since I was here last, I feel better than I did this time last year, so maybe I can step things up a bit. My goal is to lose another 6 by the end of November. If the season doesn't get me, that is very doable. Especially with SP on my side!

Missed you all.

SO BUMMED.... after my big loss yesterday my son weighed and he showed a massive loss too....we knew this was wrong as he had just been horrible on his diet last week. Turns out the top of the scale was barely touching the bathroom rug!! So I reweighed this morning....exactly the same as last week....oh well, one day I'll see that number for real, and you can be sure I will make sure NOTHING is touching that silly scale the next time I weigh!

Well, one year ago I made a decision to work out every day for a minimum of 20 minutes. So,I used lots of DVD's, went to the Y and have worked out all but 8 days mostly at home or biking, hiking, etc... My personal goal is to do those 8 days and then on October 23rd if all works out...no pun intended, I will have my 365 days. I'll let you know what I learned after I complete the 8 days. On the home stretch!

Beautiful day here in MI. I watched my grandkids today and we played outside most of the time. We had dinner and then I did my usual workouts.

Hope everyone else enjoyed their Sunday :)

Cherry juice is really good for inflammation problems. FRANNIEDID, another good juice is pineapple I use to drink it for my knee pain and it really worked. The only problem is it has to be fresh to get everything that you need from it. I had to buy a pineapple and juice it. emoticon

I have noticed that tart cherry juice helps with pain from exercise. I drink a small glass after huge effort and it keeps the pain away. Sometimes I don't drink it and I can tell the difference... like this morning! I ran speedier 6 miles yesterday and surprisingly I was sore when I got up. Well, this mornings spinning class helped, so hopefully I'll be ok. again.

Barbara,
I am a big fan of my chiropractor see him 1-2 a week, I also alternate between hot and cold compresses when my sciatica flares, and soaking in Epsom salt bath helps too. Don't over do!

Finally got to put up my 25 lb. loss badge, it killed me to take it off my page before, but now it feels good to put it back up! Hope each of you are working towards your goals and finding all the small successes from saying no to bad choices to saying yes to good ones....it took a lot of baby steps for me to get that badge back up but so happy I chose to fight the fight again!

I am in pain--well, maybe not pain but definitely achy/sore! I think I must have pulled a muscle in my back this morning, so it is bothering me. I'm getting in the habit of taking ibuprofen when I get home from the gym and I think it actually helps.

Off to a good start, 2 days of exercise this week under my belt. Renewing a habit I lost so I know I've really got to stick with it for at least 6 weeks to ingrain it into my brain and body, so I celebrate every day I accomplish it, lol!
Who's already decorated for Halloween? I've got to get ours out and up in the next few days...more calories to burn, lol!

Getting into week 2 and feeling stronger, been reading made to crave and building up the spiritual warfare that goes along with this weight loss journey. Had a nice weekend with my 21 year old son, got to go to a con with him, and he got to meet some of his favorite voice actors...it was very nice to see him so excited, as this is what he wants to do. He got to meet some of his childhood favorites that actors that did animanics and Pinky and the Brain. Rare we get a lot of quality time together. Praying dear hubby and I can sort out this health insurance renewal process, looks like some of his meds are skyrocketing price wise and praying we can figure it all out. Made a goal to lose 20 lbs by New Years will be happy with any portion of that but that's my goal, have a great day ladies

I miss having an actual fall. Hopefully, this heat will break and we will be done with it next week.

We are now going to experience fall, but it is going to feel like late fall, supposed to drop to the low 50s this evening and the be in the upper 30s in the morning. I am so not ready for this! I want warm weather!!! I rained last night and into this morning. Didn't get my walk to work but I will walk home this afternoon. The best thing about fall is walking through the leaves, I just love hearing them crunch and feeling them underfoot!

Yikes! That's hot! -- It was the low 70's today, but supposed to hit 80 here over the weekend. With that said, the nights are cool (low 40's).

I'm aiming for a lot of walking this month, so we'll see how it goes. If I accomplish 10 mi ea week, I will hit my goal.

The only frustration is that every time I make a plan, things switch on me and I keep scrambling to fit everything in. Oh well....
