I've had stress incontinence for several years now. Started out just wearing panty liners all the time, graduated to heavier ones. When I started not being able to walk the dogs for over an hour without whizzing on myself as I fumbled with the keys at the front door (after peeing BEFORE I left the house), I saw a Gyne-Urologist about it. I'm on oxybutinin daily now. Still wear Tena light pads when I'm at work or out and about, but have many fewer leaks, and haven't embarrassed myself by getting soaking wet since then. emoticon

I'm usually fine as long as I visit the bathroom before I get to panic mode.

This is a very common problem - stress incontinence is usually the cause. You can strengthen your pelvic floor muscles to help with this. There can be other reasons for it, including overweight. I was a wee bit (sorry about the pun) like it until I had lost a significant amount of weight.

It might be worth your talking with your Dr about it. My Mum and my sister have both had successful surgeries to help with it when it got pretty bad.

I have MS and my brain is not working as well as it ought to, so I was blessed with this issue in my late 30s (I'm 52 now) -not many suggestions but lots of "I hear you" -

don't even think about attempting to do jumping jacks!! emoticon (I tried - mistake!!)

there was a good article about the issue here on SP www.sparkpeople.com/blog/blog.asp?po

not sure how helpful this is but I totally understand! emoticon

One other thing I thought I'd toss in here - caffeine & yogurt/milk products are often "triggers" for people with weak bladders. I know myself, if I have more than one 3 oz yogurt I'm up several times through the night - not the same issue, but related

Ah the joys of being 50+ emoticon Yes this is a common problem for many women. You may want to check with your Doctor to see if there is anything that can be done. I know at my yearly the Doctor asks me if I'm having those problems yet some I'm sure they can help.

Hopefully you all won't think I"m weird, and hopefully there really are just women here, so I'm just going to put this out there. Obviously we know that the point of drinking more is to pee more. But after 3 kids, I have to pee if I laugh, or sneeze or do just about anything and of course its much worse now that I"m better at drinking water again. Anyone else with this issue and any suggestions???
Thanks! emoticon
