I haven't lost any weight this week yet. Seem to be staying the same for some reason. I'm trying to eat healthy. No crap at all this week. Maybe the scale will show a loss tomorrow. kim

Lost 4 more lbs since my last post which brings the team total to: 4670.85

I'm almost at 15 lbs down so of course my last weigh in was a .2 loss!! I'll take it though.

Congrats to all of us for continuing towards our goals no matter what the scale says. Read my blog from today which addresses that pesky ole scale.

Hooray, down another 2 lbs!
The daily meal planning and tracking along with 2 days strength training and 5 days cardio is working for me. That's 12 lbs in the 4 weeks I've been on Sparkpeople! I really think having so many great recipes to try from SparkRecipes along with the super nutrition tracking tools has made all the difference.

Sunday is a common weigh-in reporting day; however, weigh-in days and frequencies of reporting are up to each individual member.

CHARLENE1956:
Congratulations on your two pound loss!!!! Not remembering if you reported a gain last week, I went back and checked previous messages. According to what I found, on 01/15/11 you reported that you'd lost five pounds in the first two weeks with SP and then on 01/23/11 you reported another two pound loss. Including today's reporting, that would be a nine pounds loss with one pound gain, making your total change an eight pounds weight loss. However, your weight ticker shows a loss of eighteen pounds. So, what I'm going to do is pick up the difference between your weight ticker (407-389 = 18) and the previous reports (5 for 01/15/11 plus 2 for 01/23/11 = 7 pounds loss), which is eleven pounds (18-7 = 11) additional loss. If this is not correct, please change your weight ticker and adjust the tally on this thread. And, a big congratulations on doing so well!!!

I've only been back to SP for a couple of weeks, but have been 'being good' since 1/3/11 and have lost 11.4 pounds in the last month! Trying to delay knee replacements, or at least do all I can to make them successful. This makes the total 4,648.15!

It's never too late to join in; please do visit this thread often, not just on your weigh-in days. You decide how often you want to weigh-in; it's usually recommended that new team members don't do weigh themselves every day (That's partially because your weight can fluctuate and you don't want to do something that discourages you; however, if you decide to weigh-in daily, just remember the fluctuation.). Keep in mind that your weight loss or gain is reported manually on this thread; your actually weigh-ins will be the one that changes your weight ticker. Go back and read some of the older comments; I think you'll find them encouraging. Let us know how much to add to our tally. And, welcome to this thread!

For new members joining this thread (and as a reminder for the rest of us), I thought it might be a good idea to once again mention the basics for tracking our weigh-ins on this thread:

1. Please post the current tally with each post.
2. All weight losses (added to tally) and gains (subtracted from tally) are done manually.
3. If this is your first time for posting here, you can count the total loss since joining SP.
4. If you catch an error, please correct it asap. So that someone else can check too, please note where the error is from. *
5. If someone asks a question, please respond if you have time; if you have a question and no one has responded, ask again.

Congratulations on losing five pounds in January! Your weight ticker only shows two pounds lost; please weigh-in (and don't forget to "save") so that your ticker will match your weight loss.

GARVCO:
Congratulations on losing four pounds during the first week of January. Depending how much weight loss you have on your Thursday weigh-in, you could make your goal of 150 by your birthday on 02/10/11. Keep in mind that the purpose of SP is to help you change from a "diet" mentality to that of a "lifestyle;" you'll still lose weight, but you'll also learn how to keep that weight off by making adjustments in your lifestyle. In case I don't get back to you next Thursday, let me wish you an early "Happy Birthday!"

TERRIAM:
Congratulations on your two pound loss! SP recommends that new members do their weight-in every week or so; that's probably to keep members from freaking out! Remember, your weight can fluctuate up to five pounds in either direction; it's when your weight shows an upward trend for a couple of days that you need to watch what you're eating, etc. Change your weigh-ins to better suite you. Once you're to your goal weight, it is recommended that you weigh-in every day, so that you can keep better track of how you're doing and adjust as you need. In the meantime, there are too many other things that may freak you out; don't let a daily fluctuation be one of them.

I lost 2 lbs last week, but I think I'm starting to freak out weighing myself everyday. The first 2 weeks seemed so easy, almost magical. Thank goodness I have learned so much reading the blogs on SP, it keeps me encouraged!

Hi all - hoping I can join in here on a regular basis. When I recommitted to dropping the pounds through SP on Jan 3rd - I weighed 168. in the 1st 2 weeks I lost 4 pounds.

I haven't weighed myself again, but have it scheduled for this Thursday - I am really hoping that I am down near 160. My goal is to be in the 150's by my 50th B-day on Feb. 10th.

Remember: Whenever you point a finger, there are 3 more pointing back at yourself. Take responsibility and lead by example.

Thanks for your comment. Stick to 8-10 minutes for a while until you build up the stamina, just be sure to change your routine every once in a while. For instance, change the speed, angle on the machine, etc. Don't let your body get in a rut.

December 1st, I got back on Spark People regularly. My loss is 35lbs. since December 1st, going from 203lbs. to 168lbs. as of yesterday. Prior to that I was 208 in August and had lost 5lbs. I posted a new Blog about what is working for me, yesterday. Thank-you for inquiring.

You didn't report any loss, so I didn't know what to pick up on the tally. Your weight ticker shows a forty pound loss; however, when I went to your page, you mention 26.5 pounds. If you haven't reported on this thread before, please report what you've lost since joining SparkPeople; if you have reported something before, pick up the difference since your last post.

SSSCOLLINS:
Congratulations on being down to 189, which is a three pound loss if I use your weight ticker(192-189)as a guide! However, you mentioned losing eleven pounds since Christmas; if your beginning weight was 200, please change your weight ticker so we can see your progress and also add eight pounds to the tally. If you stay on track you should be able to take off that desired two to three pounds by 02/08/11, which is two weeks from your post. Since you're having surgery, do let your doctor know that you're losing weight; losing weight before surgery is usually a good thing, but better to run it past your doctor to be sure.

Ladies, if you get a chance, stop by the pages of these ladies.

Congrats to everyone. I weighed 189.0 this morning which is the least I've weighed in years! I've lost 11 pounds since Christmas, and hope for another 2 or 3 by February 8th, when I have surgery. This site and all of the people on it are so helpful. Thanks to all of you.

I'm so happy, I lost 3 lbs last week! And this while spending the weekend in Calistoga for our 10th anniversary.
What really helped was being able to log into SP to enter my menu during the weekend, sunny weather allowing us to tour by bike all Saturday, along with bringing our picnic food from home for lunch.

Welcome to SP, our team, and this thread! And, a big congratulations on losing three pounds your first week. As to not feeling great about this week, make notes as to why you feel that way; then, make changes (small ones) that will allow you to feel more positive about your journey. Keeping a journal (notes can be made at the bottom of your nutrition tracker) will help you not only see your food intake, exercises, moods, attitude, etc., but also make it easier for you to make changes and see what did or did not work. Since today is Sunday, I hope you'll be reporting in soon.

Regarding your comment "if I lose a little I am happy," I most certainly agree. Remember, however, that it's not just losing weight, but how you feel, how your clothes fit, your health, etc. Look at this as a lifestyle change and not just a diet.

I'm a little late reporting in - I weighed myself yesterday and was 149. Happy about that actually. Lost 1.2 lbs and still have not smoked. 23 days now!! So I think that means (if i start with 150.2) that I have lost a net total of 1.0 lbs since I last weighed myself and I don't remember when that was exactly. Starting fresh here. Will weigh in again next Saturday morning Jan 30th.
