Wal-mart sell a pack of bands(light, med.,heavy) for like 9 or 10 bucks. The heavy really is heavy(too hard) but it's a good working up set; even the light is kind of difficult. emoticon

Target also sells its own version of leg strap and band(15 bucks). I liked that one for a while but I needed to start moving up. emoticon

Just letting you know emoticon

I use a heavier band than the one that came with it. I wasn't getting much out of the red one.

It's not my main workout. I still go the gym most days, but I love the cardio boxing so I do that every night for 30 min. Also doing the 30day.

It's my primary workout. I was using the treadmill, but got burned out. I like that you can do different workouts so you don't get bored.

I think, like others, it is a consistent workout for me. I am also doing the C25K program on my treadmill right now, till I can get outside.

I'm looking for other great Wii games to help with the weight loss.

Found an old red thera-band around the house, so I added it to the red band that comes with Active. I could not believe the difference in resistance! I'm wondering if all bands are created equal?

I had bought stronger bands and it has made a big difference. emoticon

There was something weird but nice though, I had done the ab challenger in the EA Sports More(it's only 11 min). I did it and it didn't seem all that bad. When I woke up today my sides were hurting emoticon

I have made this my main workout source and I had set up goals for myself on it. I'm on my 2nd 30 day set.

My new goals are: (For 30 days)
-burn 7000 cals
-15 hours of working out
-36 workouts

emoticon emoticon

so far so good emoticon

I just started with EA Active, but I do EA Active, Wii fit, Yoga and a few days a week I do strength training at the gym. I have to say I actually find the EA Active workout to be pretty good overall.

I really enjoy EA Active, but I use it as a supplement to my workout routine, which consist of a day of interval cardio, then switching to s day of weight training. The band that came with the game is just not enough resistance to produce the muscle fatigue that I need for a good weight training day. If I were to invest a little more money into extra bands, and make a sets of custom routines focusing on certain muscle groups, I could see this becoming more of main workout for me.

I guess I need to get in there a figure out what all is available for me on that. I was thinking of getting the JUST DANCE game for my off workout days that way I am still working out but having fun it wont feel like a workout. It has had great reviews. nothing to step on, you just move with the groove, I do think it is interactive somehow, it has 30 different up beat songs to it. I looked at it at walmart.com and it was given a 5 star review by 39 people. Their only complaint was it needed more songs. I had to skip my day two of my work out but i made up for it on my rest day, today is my workout day and I will be back on track. But after working night shift, and going straight to a dr. office and not getting home until 9 or later and still have to eat and stuff before bed I didnt want to work out and be awake for a few more hours LOL

I think I will stick medium and do that one once in a while. I also bought that step riser for the board, big difference... emoticon

I used it on easy and my legs were way sore(in a good way) but the only bad thing is my knees were hurting. I think I have to ease into it.

I have had the EA Sports Active More Workouts for a month or so and it is great. The step workout in it is awesome. I also dig all of the sparring workouts, and making a 20-30 min. racquetball workout. It is really helping me with those holiday pounds.

Yesterday was supposed to be a rest day for me, but I couldn't help it and I made my own 60 minute workout and it whooped my butt. I even included all the ab workouts and now my tummy is sore today. But that's a good thing. :)

No, I really LOVE variety so it is used often as part of a whole workout program for me. I'm finding every couple of months, I'll do the 30 day (and soon the 6 week) challenge. I like to change my workouts around every month, it keeps it interesting for me.

Hubby gave me the new EA Active Sports for my Valentine, he knew I wanted it. so I started the 6 week challenge, thinking it would be like the first game. Which was easy was to easy so I started it on the medium level. I then told him, he bought it for me hoping i would have a heart attack on Valentines day LOL I told him I was not got to let it kill me that I was going to get stronger by it and kick his butt. LOL OMG needless to say, after I finished my first workout of the 6 week challenge on medium level, I changed my level to easy. Now lets see how back I get my butt kicked in the morning. LOL Thanks for your oppinions on the new game, I absolutely love it.

I have never stuck to an exercise routine and EA Active is making all the difference. I've only had it a couple weeks and I'm halfway through my first 30 day challenge on the easy setting. It's a great workout for my fitness level and I look forward to working my way through the different levels. Each morning when I'm done with the programmed challenge, I do my own custom "sports" workout. I am hooked on the EA Active. It's rewarding and gives me a feeling of "having done my exercises" at the beginning of each day. I can sure feel the difference, too. I look forward to moving on to the "more workouts" once I've completed the 3 challenges in the active. By then it will be close to summer (yay!) and I'll be outdoors more doing other active things, too.

I didn't like the resistance band because it was too much "junk" in my hand to hold on to with the remote and nunchuck so I've been using wrist weights (2.5 lbs per wrist) and that's working out okay.

I've been doing "Active" for 1 week now. I'm working on the 30 day challenge. On my "Active" days I do Active AND 20 - 30 minutes on the Wii Fit Plus. On my "Active" rest days, I do 20 - 30 minutes on my elliptical trainer, and 20 - 30 minutes on Wii Fit Plus. I'm walking 20 minutes at lunch on days when it is not raining. Active has definitely improved my workout intensity and is working out some muscles that were previously being ignored. It's a good workout!

So I bought the EA Active More Workouts and I LOVE IT! I am really impressed with it. It had a warm up and Stretching routine and it has this awesome obstacle course workout and does a lot more to focus on the abs. Today is my last day of my 30 day challenge from the first EA Active and I started the 6 week challenge on Saturday.

I am also using the EA Active as my main workout. I might pick up the extra workout one as a treat when I get to my 10 pound lost mark. I liked the original Wii fit, but not as a "true" workout, pieces of it were good, like the running and step, so I might mix those in, but I like the lead 30 challenge program of the EA sports. It mixes it up enough for me, it is pretty well paced, and I am sweaty at the end. Plus I don't have to leave my house. I am hoping I will see results soon now that I am using it regularly.

most weeks I do this between 4-5 times. Otherwise I do it 2-3 times. I love the 6-week challenge along with throwing in other workouts. I can usually burn up to 200 calories in an hour doing this. When I was going to the gym I was only burning 100 calories because I would get bored and get off.

EA Sport Active is my more serious activity. I also do Wii Fit Plus, running or biking a little in the morning before I check-in, then get ready for work. My main workout is before dinner. After dinner I usually add a little Wii Sports Resort just for fun.

I am almost done with my 30 day challenge. I do supplement on the rest days with the treadmill or another workout dvd. The resistance band sucks so I went to walmart and they had a 3 pack of I think (danskin) resistance bands. I have to say it has really made my Wii Active Workouts much more difficult. I used the easiest resistance band and I really have to struggle to get the few reps in for things like shoulder presses etc..., but that's good because then I know it's really giving my muscles a beating. I tried a workout on hard last night and I have to say it really wasn't much harder then the medium except I think they make you do more reps for the band workouts.

The only problems I have had is sometimes it tells me to stand still when I am standing still. LOL - I am actually going to buy the Wii Active More Workouts tonight. I wanted to buy a Wii fit, but they are out of stock everywhere. I really only want the balance board - not the game, but can't get either anywhere around here.

Update on wii and error reading disc. get a can of air and blow it into where you insert the games, then if you need to clean a game use rubbing alchohol and wipe from the center outward not in a circle, if this still doesnt work, they sell a cleaning disc just for the wii for 10 bucks a regular dvd cleaner disc will not work, if it still doesn't work, nintendo will fix it for about 75.00 and ship it back to you with a 1 year warranty. So I did the air, it really helped but didn't fix it. so I had my son go to a game stop and pick me up the cleaning kit for wii, I will get it tomorrow. So will let you know if that works LOL beats paying for another system.

Yes, right now EA Sports Active is my main workout. I play with the Wii Fit Plus to record my weight and to play balance games. The weather is too awful here this time of year for outdoor exercise, and I've never liked going to fitness clubs or gyms, so I'm really happy to have this option!

I use the EA Active 5 times a week as recommended by the game. On the days I don't use it I workout with Wii Fit Plus. I also use my treadmill or go to the gym on the same days as using the Wii to increase my cardio workouts. I workout 6 to 7 days a week.

I combine the ea sports active more workouts challenge and the Biggest Loser 4 week challenge - the BL is more challenging than the sports active at the moment because theres a lot of jumping jacks and high cardio type exercises. Some of the activities don't register(in BL) very well when used with the balance board - but I tough it out. I occaisionally use the wii fit plus and will slide the personal trainer in as well. I'm also trying to incorporate outdoor walks in with the dogs.

It's nice to read about other workouts that folks are doing...I use the EA Active 6 days a week, but I create custom workouts only at this point. I think I will try a 30 day challenge starting tomorrow...

I also just got the Gold's Gym Cardio two days ago and so far love it. It is quite a workout...and it is very particular on stance and punches being done correctly. It also has other exercises it incorporates, but I haven't unlocked those yet.

I have the Wii Fit Plus coming on Monday...but I use the Wii Fit daily. I LOVE the Rhythm Boxing on expert level and do it 2-3 times every day. I also do the advance step between 5 and 6 times a day as well as several of the yoga moves. I use this link to get my calories burned: wii.com/jp/mets/ . Now it is in Japanese but it thankfully has pictures that match the workouts in Wii Fit. I understand that the Wii Fit Plus does this for you...that will be nice!!

I also have a Wii game coming next week called Walk it Out...can't wait to get it to try.

We will discover the nature of our particular genius when we stop trying to conform to our own or to other people's models, learn to be ourselves, and allow our natural channel to open.

It's pretty different. Both are good but I stick to the More Workouts. They now have warm up and cool down exercises at the beginning and end. Pretty much all the exercises are different. Squash, obstacle courses, paddle surfing, skipping, stride jumps. There are now ab workouts which are brutal but in a good way. It all takes place on an island so there is a lot of nice blue water that makes you want to go to the beach. LOL

A friend of mine has the Biggest Loser. I worked out to it last weekend and dont care for it. The regular workout wasnt as user friendly as EA Sports Active, I dont think. The character on the screen did the work out moves wither I did or not. However, I like the challenges. I wont buy it.
EA Sports Active - More workouts - looks great. I actually was planning on getting it today. Im looking at Jillian Michaels Ultimate Fitness 2010 too. I read reviews that 2009 was not worth the money but 2010 seems to be a good one.

It is my only work out source as I can only do circuit type work outs. I am interested in knowing if anyone has purchased the new EA Sports active and how is it compared to the first one. And also has anyone purchased the biggest loser workout game?

I use EAS and my treadmill. The treadmill I use every day cause Im training for the 3 Day Walk for a Cure in November. So I walk at least a half an hour a day. But I like the EAS for the extra cardio bump.

I wouldn't say it is my main workout, but it is probably my most consistent workout.
I signed up for some local classes, to get more exercise in (as EA can be quite short, when you are just starting).
I also do Yoga Booty Ballet and Turbo Jam. I haven't figured out the rotation I am going to do to incorporate everything, but I am going to try using multiple things as I want to switch it up ;)
I also have an abcircle pro and Dance Dance Revolution, but I don't use those as much.
SANDY, how do you like your ab circle pro?

It is my primary source, I use both the Active and More Workouts, then also include Walk Away the Pounds DVDs and my treadmill. I've pretty much quit my Wii Fit.

Yeah, it's pretty much my main source of exercise. I also use the Wii Fit and do a workout video with a medicine ball. I've lost 9lbs in 2 weeks with just this and dieting so I'm pretty happy. =)
