Today we have had an abundance of cold rain. Tonight, the prediction is to change to snow. We still have snow piled up in our yard from last week's snow fall. I am glad that I don't have to go out today. I have so many different things I want to do. I am going to complete cabinets declutter today.

We had a 6 hour round trip planned for today, but the weather is changing and my Fibro kicked up. So, instead we did a little garage saling. Now, SIRJON is at the library and I've been trimming bouganvilla. They are beautiful, but their blossoms turn into long sharp spikes. If, they are near walk areas, they need to be trimmed.

We've got humidity in the air today, so I have the two things I asked for. I wanted to live where we could have bouganvillas and enough humidity to curl my hair. So, I'm a happy camper.--PJ

Luckily, DH is being a trouper. We're both on a healthier food change (AKA diet). We're weighing and measuring and trying. Part of it, too, is my energy level is pretty low, by dinner cooking time.

It really helps, when you both have agoal.--PJ

The soup sounds like a great idea, PJ! I might have to try that. My family wouldn't go for it though.

Today...I jumped. It doesn't sound like much, but I haven't been able to do this. I only did it once, but my feet actually left the ground.

I've heard other people talking about watching the show but I have missed it. I didn't even know what kind of show it was, until I read your post. I will have to tune in now. The soup sounds delicious. I could live on soups alone. Thanks

If you don't watch Dr. Oz, he's great. Even DH turns him on. Anyway, one of the suggestions for weight loss, is to make a weekly big basic soup.

Use tomato juice or soup, celery, green beans, garlic, onions, carrots, spices, water and fat free broth. To this, take enough out for a meal and add something different everytime. Like some cooked meats, taco seasoning, mushrooms, chopped lettuce, or whatever. It works. We switched to lo-cal soup at night, fruit or salad.--PJ

Hi, I am back again. I am a caretaker for my Mom, who had lots of medical problems, both DH & I had cataract surgery & difficulties afterward. So, I had to leave several teams. I was just about to quit SP and take care of more pressing matters. I may have too yet, if my Mom, who is 90, gets ill, all my time will be with her, not on SP. So, I will do the best that I can to check in daily.

Sunday is my day to recoup. I go into toad mode. It's the one day, I try to read for enjoyment, but it tires my eyes. So, it's read, sleep, read, sleep.

It's also a time to come up with new ideas and SIRJON tries to make himself buried in a game or book. One nice thing we learned yesterday is our neighbor has a list, too.

So, here's to a day of rest.--PJ

Thanks, PJ and Grace! Believe me, I won't tolerate much. Frankly, that's why my ex FIL doesn't like me. I'm nice but I'm also very strong. He was here last Christmas and made a very vulgar racial slur and I told him that we don't use that word in my house or around my kids. This is the kind of thing that he jumps my EX for afterwards. He complains, because, "she has the nerve to talk to me that way..."

I think it's going to be a hard adjustment for him. He has been very resistant to leaving PA and the home he grew up in, but it's just getting too hard for him, and he'd like to be closer to his grandsons. My sons know he's a jerk, but also know that we tolerate unacceptable behavior in people we love. I have taught them some good skills.

Remember, it's your house, don't tolerate any guff. You have "NO" responsiblity. When your husband divorced you, so did his father. You may be a nice person, but you're also an intelligent one. If you FIL is allowed to treat you poorly, your children will jump on the band wagon. If you stand your ground, both men will pull in their horns. You do not have doormat on your forehead, you have, "I am women, hear me roar!!".--PJ

Yes, I am stitchless now!!! I am sure that my DH wishes that my mouth could be stitched up. He likes to say, "Boy, can't that woman talk!. When he infers that, I give him the silent treatment which drives him nuts. Oh, how I love that man of mine!!! At this point, both he and I are glad that I will be around to talk, talk, talk a long time.

Well, it is snowing again. Enough already!!!!Spring can't come soon enough for me.

Have a good day, my friends.

I must warn you that it's not easy to "transplant" an elderly person. They are like finicky plants. It will take tons of patience and understanding on your part. He might find everything wrong with the move and nothing right. I wish you good luck! Keep us posted on how YOU are doing. And don't let your EX shirk his responsibility with his own father, especially since his father doesn't respect you. That's what my EX did when his sick mother was living with us. He was "too busy" coaching little league to stay with his own mother. I was taking college courses and had to QUIT to stay home with her. Now, when I look back on that time I realize what a jerk HE was and what a fool I was for tolerating it. His life went on, as usual and mine was put "on hold". And, naturally, NO appreciation!
Please don't let this happen to you! OK! I've vented enough! SORRY!

Yea, for the Bionic Leader!

Grace, I hope it's going well with your guest (Melvin?).

My older son finally gets to start vo-tech school!! Yea! He starts on Monday. He's been out of high school for a year and a half, and has been on their waiting list, and hasn't been able to find a job. He's been doing chores for me, about an hour a day, but that's about it. It'll be a big change for all of us.

My sons' father, my "ex" who lives with me, is moving his elderly father to Tennessee from Pennsylvania in February. My FIL and MIL never liked me--it was a case of my not being good enough for their only son. So they caused a lot of strife. My MIL died a couple of years ago, and my FIL just isn't doing well up there on his own. There's really no family to help. It'll be a change for all of us, because my FIL has lived in the same house since he was a child, and we have never had family living near us. Add to that, he and I have a strained relationship, he does't understand mine and his son's relationship, he's a little ugly toward the kids, racist, etc., so it will take all of the patience I can muster, because even though my "ex" doesn't want to be married, he still expects me to help take care of his dad. emoticon

I'm a good person, so I will.

That's a new one "Bionic Leader". I like that! I'm so fortunate, we live next to Mexico or otherwise, I'd be toothless. I'm allergic to the fixatives. They cause ulcers in my mouth. Of. course maybe I could use super glue.

I was the skinniest, sturdiest kid, except for pneumonia, you would have ever seen. If you can believe it, I was a dare devil. I could out do the boys, without an effort (not greatly appreciated). Later, I was taught, always let a man win.

Anyway, I have different lenses than I was born with, rods and cages in my back. So, I guess I am sort of bionic. But, I can't fly!! --PJ

Today, I started another tooth implant procedure. Snapped tooth extracted, bone graft and titanium post screwed in. Now, we wait up to 6 months for my new tooth. Luckily, it's not visible when I smile. My 4 front teeth were (what a long 6 months that was!) t

It went very well. I'm just tired of needing new parts. I rather be dropping some of my parts. Part of my bazooms, waist and hips, oh, and wrinkles, looser skin. But, come to think of it, I could use thicker hair, eyebrows and eyelashes, tattos, piercings, loops, rings, chains (Let's see, what else is new?)--PJ

LOL! I weigh 325. I have a stability ball which um...isn't so stable for someone who weighs 325. One night, I fell right off of there! And since I'm so heavy, it was definitely a case of I've fallen and I can't get up! (If my breasts could talk, they would say this too, but fortunately I have a big belly to provide support to them.)

I also have a "ball" shaped like a peanut which I haven't fallen off of, but my "ex" sat on it and rolled backward right off of it with his legs going straight up into the air. It was quite comical.

Welcome back, Peggy!

Today, I volunteered at Second Harvest Foods which is our state's food bank. I sorted through boxes of food that had been donated by people through food drives and that had been donated by local stores. People donate a lot of strange things...opened jars of peanut butter, etc. The sorting eliminates things that can't be used, like things that are opened and seriously dented cans. It was a lot of moving back and forth, picking up boxes, etc. Most of it was fairly easy (I'm not used to physical labor), but the last 30 min. was very hard. I had gotten hot and tired by that point. It was a 2.5 hour shift.

WELCOME BACK, GRANNYS5! I know you'll find support here. Also, there's an Arthritis Spark Team that you might want to join too!

It's tough to keep your weight down, when every little move causes pain. I don't have RA, just OA, so I can't imagine what having those sore hands 24/7 must feel like.

Hi everyone, I am back. It has been since June that I've been on line. I do not have a lot of great news to report since then. I moved (that was terrible), my doctor has messed with my meds for the last 6 months and I have gained, yes I said gained 30 pounds! My arthritis is getting so bad that some days I can not use my hands, I feel horrible, and am very depressed. If the disease doesn't kill you the cure will.
But I am glad to be back. and have some one to talk to that knows what I am going through. I will survive, that is my new moto for this year!!! emoticon

Penny, we're all just so thrilled with you good news! Now you can move on with your life!

My life is about to take a drastic, though temporary, turn, when my special brother, Melvin and my DIL arrive for a 2 week visit tonight, from CT. For those of you who don't know it, Melvin is 76 year old and mentally handicapped and functions like a pre-schooler. He's a lot of work, but I'll manage. It's just for 2 weeks and I hope he has fun with us down here in FL! Then he'll return to his group home in CT. And I'll let out a big sigh of relief!

How's it going everyone? I'm doing better, not as exhausted as I was,but still have the 10 extra pounds of water weight due to hormones and am feeling a little tired. My mood is much better, and for that I'm grateful!
