I don't know how I got through all the symptoms including bleeding for nearly four months straight (slow, only a few drops a day most days) without ever seeing a doctor for said symptoms. The periods are over now. I haven't been to a doctor for over three years for any reason so I find it hard to see one now. I don't like to see doctors. They always seem to want to get into my personal business. Doctors are little help with chronic pain and IBS.

I wanted to know if seeing a doctor would help at this stage since my annoying symptoms have passed.

Give it a chance. The PA I see says yes they will help. But I really don't know. I opted for nothing, at least for now.

I recently saw my ob/gyn about menopause symptoms, and she prescribed a birth control pill that's mostly progesterone and a very small amount of estrogen. (Due to my mom's history of breast cancer I'm not a candidate for traditional HRT.) Although I have all the usual menopause symptoms--hot flashes, insomnia, irregular periods, mood swings--the biggest issue for me was the heaviness of my periods (to the point where I couldn't leave the house on some days!)
I've only been on the pill for about a week so I don't really know if/when it's going to work, but it's been a particularly bad week in terms of moods. So I'm wondering if anyone else has taken the pill for menopause and seen any improvement in that area? If so I'll hang in there a but; if not, I better try something else before I end up divorces or in jail!
