Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!! It's a miserable weather day, but still a wonderful day to remember all the reasons for which we have to be thankful. I have many and i suspect you all do, too.

CJ, what a great picture of Corbin and his daddy. He's just adorable and it is so fun to see how much he has grown. What a smile!!

Trese, thanks for the holiday wishes. DD said it was gorgeous...I think she lives right down the road (sort of) from you!! LOL! She was going to have dinner with a friend and her family at some relative's house in MD. DD gets invited to more places for holiday meals. I don't think she's ever had to spend one on her own.

Lois, what a wonderful and inspiring note you shard with us. You are absolutely correct and I, too, am in awe of all we have...too much for me to list, that's for sure, but you did a lovely job!!

We drove to NE Iowa (Dubuque, for those of you who know a little about our state map...lol) to have dinner with Mom and Marilyn (Sis). I have decided to call them the M&Ms, as it's easier to write. emoticon We had such a nice meal in Mom's dining room. They had the traditional turkey dinner, which I had, and several other things you could order off the menu. All so tasty and wonderful. Mom wasn't feeling the best...she said her "nerves" are bothering her. Trying to pin down what the issue is can be difficult, but she agreed to call the dr. tomorrow. We drove up in sprinkles that got heavier all the time and drove home in pounding rain. Better than white stuff, though, at least as long as we were driving.

Hope you all had a great day. I know some of you will be gathering with family or friends over the weekend. Stay safe and enjoy your time together. Hugs and love, Jeannie

Happy Thanksgiving to ALL of you, this picture of one of my GS with his son who was born a twin and weighed 2.3 lbs (we lost the one at birth) is one of the best reasons for GREAT THANKS, he is now 3 1/2 yrs old and in pre-school. What a blessing, some of you will remember praying for him.

Hope everyone has a GREAT DAY, and stay safe and warm.

Got to Go make dressing, heat turkey and make gravy, then go to my daughters and see all 8 GGC and 8 of my 10 GC. and 4 of my children. WOO HOO.

Love Ya: CJ from OK.

Happy Thanksgiving to you all! I count you all among my blessings on this day of thanks. It is a gorgeous day in Virginia. The sunrise was spectacular. So glad my son is home so the three of us can be together.
Hugs to you all

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
I heard the story of the first Thanksgiving today, and it was all about giving thanks to God. Then tonight on the way home, the moon was huge and round and bright!! I really left me in awe! So many things to be thankful for. Safety, a warm house, food in my belly, a great family, all healthy, and good health for me.... Sometimes, it takes my breath away!! I hope drinking doesn't cause accidents this weekend, and pray for safety for each person.

Happy Thanksgiving to each and every one of you!! I hope your day is wonderful and that you have a day filled with love, blessings and gratitude!!

Babs, what a great Christmas plan for Abby to have her very own dance area with a barre!! she will feel so special. Yes, I agree...you definitely need your own space there, too. Enjoy your days off. I'm sure the next month will be especially busy for you as you prepare for the change to PT work.

Nola, good for you. Every bit of movement helps, and chair marching is terrific. I'm pleased you have been invited to your caregiver's home for Thanksgiving. I hope you go. I"m sure she understands about your eating needs. Being with people who care is every bit as important as the food we eat!!

Lois, you are correct. We no longer have a place in the sun. That's partly because my Mom and Sis have needed more attention and help, and we weren't able to stay too long the last couple of years. I mentioned we plan to go to Daytona Beach for a few days at Christmas. We also have friends who will be in Orange Beach, AL (near Gulf Shores) for Jan/Feb. They want us to come down for a few days. We might do that just to see what it's like there. Sure hope it works out for you to be able to get away for a time. It's wonderful to shake off some of the winter doldrums!!

Time to move on...I think it's time for me to do something, just not sure what it'll be yet!! Went to the Y at noon to use the pool, so I feel like I got some of my work done! LOL! Love and hugs, Jeannie

Greetings to all ... I want to say Happy/Blessed Thanksgiving to all. May you be surrounded by those you love and who love you.

Christopher's visit was great, however, it turned into just 1 short day (yes, they are never long enough). He got caught in that snowstorm last weekend - long story short, he took 17 hours to get here between planes, trains, bus, automobile. Flights were just outright canceled; no cars to be had and he wound up Milwaukee instead of Chicago for transferring ... on/on. They lost his luggage. Good news, though, they sent it to the wrong airport which is where his Dad lives, so he just got it today in time to travel back to friends he is visiting in Indiana. We had a whirlwind day of talking and celebrating Thanksgiving & Christmas, because he is traveling the whole month of December.

He purchased an Apple TV and set it up. I just love it. I can stream my photos, videos, music library to the TV through my phone or iPad via iTunes. Plus get Netflix streaming. Nice for these long winter nights coming up.

Mike is feeling a little better - still coughing and very tired. I'm feeling much better, though very tired as well.

I finish coaching tonite, and then take my sabbatical. Maybe this is the year I'll get those closets organized/cleaned...

Nola I admire you so much for sticking to your plan of chair marching.

Babs ... always good to hear about "Dancing with Abby". Hope you got to leave early today. I know how busy you get at work.

Jeannie - I see you'll be with your Mom & Sis for Thanksgiving.

I sure do miss having a family around to celebrate the holidays.

My dog is still sick with her ear infections ... another 10 days of meds, ear cleaning and giving her a bath every 3 days for her skin condition.

Well, take care of yourselves .... have a beautiful day....

Wow! I was starving. I rarely feel that ‘starving hunger.’ I just don’t allow it! I had soup and it was delicious. I also still have some tea from this morning - ginger peach. It’s no longer hot, but it isn’t iced. So I’m having ‘cool’ ginger peach tea.

Really too busy. Problems with a change in software to payroll. New computer ordered for me. This one is getting too slow. I’ve had it 4 years, and actually 3 years is the longest I’ve gone in the past.

I’ll be off the next 4 days. Joe works Fri/Sat/Sun. Wouldn’t you know he has early shifts. He starts at 5:30 AM. He sets an alarm and he wakes up, but there have been occasions when he’s fallen right back asleep. So guess who will get up. Now I wake up early all the time, but I don’t want to ‘have to wake up/get up.’ There’s always the option to return to bed!! Sounds good.

No, Jeannie, I don’t have to buy gifts for dance teachers. I did last year and I did this year. It just ‘feels right’ and Abby gets so much out of her dancing. The leg warmers were on sale at a kiosk at the mall for $9. They’re really pretty too - lace, buttons. I’ll try to remember to take a picture. They email progress reports, stay in touch, they’re very involved with their students. I asked her ballet teacher for suggestions for a DVD for Abby for Christmas. I told her that Joe is going to make a ballet barre for her. I found instructions on Pinterest. They’re made with pipes. At class they’re out of pipes too. I never realized you could do that. The instructions I found are for PVC pipe. We can make them ‘pretty.’ I want to make a dance area for her in the basement. Joe has an area where he has a projector and screen set up. I want MY AREA too!! One big happy family; huh?

Nola, it’s wonderful that you are doing chair exercises (marching) and that it helps you. What a great feeling to find something that finally works; right? How nice that you have been invited to your caregiver’s home. She will understand that you are very limited with what you eat and how much you can eat. Enjoy!

Lois, happy to see that things are going well for you. I hope you get those business dealings off your plate and get on with a much deserved vacation.

On with work - maybe I’ll just leave a little early today.

Have a wonderful blessed Thanksgiving!

Jeannie,,,, thank you for that great note and synopsis of everyone's posts! That's great. Daytona for Christmas sounds great, hope the weather is amazing. Are you going to Texas or Arizona this winter? You don't own anything in the south now, do you? Maybe you'll change to Florida this winter... :) I'm hoping to get some urgent things off my plate (business wise) so that I can take a winter vacation this year. I have a friend in Panama City and relatives in Tyler Texas that would be fun to visit. We'll see how things go. Different reports give different predictions regarding winter weather.... It sure started early, I hope that's not a prediction.

Well, on to a good week,,, eating right......

I am doing my chair marching as I Spark. It has really helped. I am going through a flare of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome this week. I took a nap today and slept til noon a few times. You are all so busy with the holidays and I must say I miss the days when I could be. The kids will be spending their holiday at home. I have been invited to my caregiver's home for the meal but I am very uneasy about it as I cannot eat but a small amount. I will see what the next two days bring.
I am making my Chocolate Peanut Butter Pecan pies for one of the officers I worked with at Community Corrections. I developed it for him and make it for him and his family each year.

I decided I had better stop by here before I do another thing! If I don'w write a note now, I will miss another day!! How can anyone be as busy as it seems like I am? Don't answer that!! I'm just inefficient in what I do, so it takes me longer to get things done! LOL!!

Went to the school for reading with the little kids this morning. Had to move to a different spot because the pre-K class next door to mine was having a "turkey trot" race in the hallway! Too funny...these little kids all had turkey headdresses they'd made. The teachers put tape on the floor and from what I could tell, they had two at a time doing something with candy corn in a spoon. I was thankful to be reading instead of racing!! emoticon

Babs, how sweet that Abby wanted to spend time with the two of you. Just goes to show how much she loves you both. You have to buy gifts for the dance teachers? Leg warmers sound like a great idea, but I think I'm kinda glad I never had a girl in dance. Glad you had a nice weekend.

Linda, thanks for the Thanksgiving wishes from you, Garfy and Crissy!! Good to know they are all winterized with their extra fur!! By the way, I laughed out loud when I read what you did to your son with the turkey cake!! That is just too funny. I bet he's hoping you won't decide to repeat that this year!!

Nola, I'm so happy to hear you have had phone calls from your son/GKs. That's really nice. Do you have any special plans for Thanksgiving?

Jackie, pretty snow picture! Hope you have a wonderful visit with Christopher. I know they're never long enough. Always hard to say good-bye. How is Mike feeling by now? Hope you both are healthier by now.

Well, Karen, it sounds like you and Jim found some good buys at the craft fair. Two Thanksgiving celebrations!! It's nice that you are going to their places rather than the other way around! LOL! Have you ever been to your DD's in Austin? How are the night-time leg wraps going? Hope they and the compression garments work well for you.

Ellen, I can't remember where you live. I know there are lots of places where people seem to go wacko when it snows (and some places even when it just rains). How is it going with your eating? You mentioned struggling...it's a hard time of year to not struggle, I guess. So many temptations and lots of ways for me to get into trouble.

Lois, I didn't know you are a seamstress!! That sounds like a pretty involved and elaborate costume. You are very talented to be able to do that. Surely you miss the cold and snowy Iowa winters!!! LOL!

Jocelyn, hello...in what part of Florida are you? Our DS and DIL just moved to Daytona Beach. She said that they finally have some non-humid weather. We're planning to fly down for Christmas. I'm not looking forward to flying anywhere, but it's the best way for us to get there. Some other time we'll drive...I think!!

Our plans are still on for us to go to my Mom's for Thanksgiving dinner. We'll eat in the dining room with her and my sis. That is...unless Mom decides the weather is too bad for us to drive up. It's supposed to rain...no snow predicted for us, but she'll worry about something. That's a given.

Have a great afternoon and evening, everyone. I hope you are all feeling better, relaxing and not working too hard. Love and hugs from me to you!! XOXO Jeannie

Oh my. I'll have to try to catch up with posts tonight or tomorrow. I played hard yesterday and goofed off the entire day!! It was fun though. Joe's off work until Friday. Abby wanted a day with her brother and grandma. So we went to STL. She saw Santa and decided she wanted Joe to be with her and he's such a good sport - there he was. I'll have to post a picture. Cute! We went in the Disney store and she enjoyed that. Joe bought a new cover for his cell phone. I bought leg warmers for all of Abby's dance teachers. We ate at Cheesecake Factory. Oh my - delicious!!

Now I have to get busy here. Had a webinar this morning and I am now officially behind with payroll. It has to get out early this week with the holiday.

Chrisy and I are here to wish everyone a Happy Turkey Day. She and Garfy both have their little winter fur on now. It's always cute to watch it change. It is a little coarser and longer than usual. and they both tend to burrow under their baby blankets whenever possible. This is with the heat on and working. PS they are indoor cats.

Well, here it is Monday. We didn't get the snow that the midwest got (thankful), but it's COLD today - 32 degrees with only a high of 49 forecast.. Brrrrrrrrr. guess that's what will be today and tomorrow, but thankful the temperatures are better the rest of the week - in the 60's in the day and only down to 40 at night.... I left that dreadful weather in Iowa, it doesn't need to follow me to Virginia :)

Everyone sounds so busy! planning for great family times! So fun, to see/hear about your special plans! I'll be getting together with family later in the week, as they are all busy Thanksgiving with other activities. In the meantime, I'm sewing costumes that are complicated in that I have to look at a picture and match it.... They must be done by next Sunday. It took me 3 hours to just sew the lace on the front and back of the top. Next I have to design the sleeves. So, I'll be VERY busy this week and next with our Christmas program.

Happy Thanksgiving to each of you....

Lovely snow pictures, but glad it's not here. I love snow but when it snows here no matter how much or how little people go crazy and businesses shut down.
Daughter is out shopping for Thanksgiving dinner. We will be having ours Sunday since she had to work Thursday and won't be off until Sunday.
I am really struggling with my eating this week. What makes it hard is since don't have TOPS meeting this week my mind is trying to tell me I have free pass but the truth is if I eat too much this week odds are it won't all be gone by next.
Hope everyone has a great week emoticon emoticon

I am woefully behind in reading posts! Jim and I just got back from a VT state craft and fine art fair. It was held in Burlington and ran from Friday through today. We made some purchases, some for Christmas presents and some for us. We probably didn't need the wine or shortbread we bought, either, lol.
It looks like we are going to celebrate Thanksgiving twice. Once with our son and his sweet girlfriend on Thursday outside of Boston and the day after with our oldest, Jessica, and her husband. They are in CT closer to NYC. We will stay overnight with Kevin on Thursday, get up Friday morning and drive to Jess' and stay overnight with her and Adam Friday night.
I thought I had completed my treatments with the therapist, but since my condition has not responded as well as she wished, I will be continuing through the end of the year. I now have a prescription for compression garments and for leg wraps to wear at night. I will look like a mummy, lol, but I have to get this swelling down somehow.
Jess did the flowers for her very first wedding today. She posted some pictures on FB and they were gorgeous. She's a pretty talented woman. Back to her day job tomorrow teaching advanced art students at her high school. She teaches advanced digital photography and advanced ceramic art.
I am going to sign off for now so that I can scroll down and see what everyone has been up to!
Hugs,
Karen

I just pulled out my Christmas mug for my tea. Brown sugar and my holiday tea. I am so sleepy today so I think I will declare a day of contentment for myself and just vegetate.
The pictures of snow are beautiful but I am glad to be here are no snow. I appreciate the beauty but just can't handle the cold anymore. Everyone stay safe. Happy Thanksgiving for all who will celebrating with your families this week! emoticon

Good day all - still stuffed up - yes I drink lots of herbal tea, honey, zinc, Vit. C.. you name it! Thanks for the suggestions. Though I must confess, the whiskey in my coffee sure clears up my lungs the fastest.

Jeannie - glad all is well with your Sister. You must be so relieved. Your weather sounds like ours. Only, there was more snow south of us.

My son left Duluth 9 AM Saturday - arrived in Chicago 2:05 AM Sunday, then was put on a bus to South Bend were he was initially headed. His luggage is not due to arrive til 5:30 pm - so he has to wait for that before heading up to see me! I sure hope it gets there. We will have Monday and part of Tues. together, hopefully!

Nola - good for you on the Chair Marching.

GrndMom - Sugar Plum Spice herbal tea sounds good, but chicken & dumplings sound even better! I remember my mom used to cook that.

Babs - hope you got caught up on your work.

Cj - pretty picture.

Hello to Linda, Trese, Karen, Lois, Joanna, and everyone else! Here's what we have: Don't know why it always gets turned around. It's right side up on my computer.

Too cold outside for me today. I am doing some cleaning and sorting out more books. My throat is sore from reaching 6000+ steps yesterday so I am trying to add my steps slower today. I had some of my Sugar Plum Spice herbal tea and hope that helps. I think some chicken and dumplings will be soothing for later.
Boomer Sooners in this family too. Eric has had Oscar watching football since he was three days old. When they called on Friday after getting his smile and good morning Oscar turned to the TV to watch emoticon He is 4 months old. emoticon
Stay safe everyone with snow. We missed it all. We just have cols weather so I will be staying in. emoticon

Yes Jeannie, I will be seeing my son, DIL and GS on Sat 28th. It's my son's birthday and since his wife is very bad off with
arthritis through out her body, he is going to make the turkey etc. My GS said he would not bother coming home for Thanks Giving unless there was a meal.(Not Chinese carry out). they want him to stay the weekend, so turkey it is. As I said it will be Dan's 51st so he is man enough to put on an apron and do the deed. Even on his BD.
PS when my GS was about 8, he and I decorated a Safeway Turkey cake for his BD that said Dan is our favorite turkey. He was not amused.
HUGS to everyone in SP and happy turkey day!
PPS no one likes my cooking. I was a bookkeeper, not a very good homemaker.

Lois, thank you for asking. Marilyn got along great. She had been in the hospital for a few days before the surgery and they kept her overnight after, but she went home yesterday afternoon. She called me last evening and said she was feeling really good. I hope it resolves some of the issues she's had recently.

CJ, beautiful flower garden. Fun to look at right now since there is snow covering our ground. They are telling us that we're to get really cold tonight with wind chills in the -5 to -10 area. Again, we're snug and warm!! So blessed that way.

Well, Nola, that's great that you have found a reasonable way to get some extra steps in and to work around your breathing problems in a good way. That's just awesome!

Trese, I am sure you'll miss the beach and beautiful scenery you've had this last week. Spoke with my DD this morning and she said it is pretty nice in VA right now.

Well, Linda...I think all moms are the same, don't you? Even when we know better, we still worry, I think. Of course, you care about your son...we never stop caring, do we!! Will your son be around for Thanksgiving?

The storm dropped about 6 inches of snow, so not as much as predicted, but you only had to go about 30 minutes north for places to get 12+ inches. It was just beautiful this morning and we didn't have to go anywhere, so it was really a nice morning. It's warmed up enough for a bunch of it to melt off. Tonight it'll be cold...wind chills in the minus digits. That part I don't like at all.

Hope you all are having a good weekend and for those of you in the path of this snow...hunker down and wait it out if you can. It won't last long!! Love and hugs, Jeannie

Jeannie, did you mention how your sister did with surgery and I missed it. I hope she feels SO much better. One of the better things I did in life was have my GB out! emoticon

Good Morning to ALL of you, I see some of you are getting SNOW, burr, I'm just not ready for that much cold yet, but I guess I better get ready.

Nola: Good to hear your chair marching with music is helping, 10 minutes at a time a few times a day will be about all I can do to, my knees don't like much else. I am still able to get outside and walk a little bit.

Jeannie: 6 to 9 inches of snow, sounds, well lets just say (ugh), but I bet it will be beautiful to look at.

Thank you to all of you for the Birthday Goodies, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY to me for today, DH is taking me out for lunch and then we will come home and watch our OU sooners, So BOOMER SOONER, I'm looking forward to Thankgiving with all my family looks like around 30 of us. My grandson from Ohio will be here tonight sometime, not at my house but in Kansas with my son his dad.We haven't seen them for two years, so Corbin and Maddy have grown a lot.

My step count has been better thanks to chair marching with music. I can only do about 10 minutes at a time until my vocal cords start causing problems but this seems to be working for my breathing, my back, my knees and my mood.
We are not expecting snow until next Friday but I am not disappointed. emoticon I am happy inside just watching it outside my big picture window.
I hope that everyone has fun preparing for the Holiday and has a chance to enjoy it!

Jeannie, glad to hear your sis doing well. I chuckled when I read your comment about moms. My son will be 51 next week and I still worry/care a lot about him. He's a big ole trucker, so he takes my words with a grain of salt. They will always be our babies, no matter how old.

We're all snuggled in and waiting for the snow to start. According to radar that should be any minute now. We have 6-9 inches predicted for tonight/early tomorrow, but even if we only get half that it will be more than enough for me! LOL! But, what are you going to do...we take it as it comes!! emoticon

Ellen, it is so nice to see you stop by. You are right about the steps, and every single one counts for something. Building it up gradually is a great way to set reasonable goals. Lou, I bet you'll be up to 5,000 in no time if you just keep working on it. emoticon

Nola, I sure agree...5,000 steps is great and no wonder you are thrilled with it. Awesome work!

Babs, your work week should be over by now. I imagine you have a nice short week for Thanksgiving. That will be a super break for you, too. Hope you don't have to spend tons of time cooking. I never minded the cooking so much, but always wished I had someone else doing the cleanup. emoticon

Lou, thanks for your kind words about my sister and her surgery. Everything went well! No surprises and they were able to do it with the scope, which I was a little surprised about as she is very, very heavy. The surgeon said everything went well. So, I am thankful and appreciative of your prayers and those of all of my friends. emoticon

Some of you who have been around the team for awhile know that my sister lives in a nursing home. She is younger than I by 4 years, never married, and has had many, many years of physical and mental health issues. I have to say, though, that as she has become older, she is much more stable and while she still has a boatload of medications and quite a few physical problems, it all seems to be more manageable since she went to live at the nursing home (3 years last month). There isn't any other family except me and my 93 (almost 94) year old Mom. Talk about always being a mother no matter what...prime example right there!! emoticon

Hoping all of you have a wonderful weekend. We plan to be pretty low key here and will probably go to church tomorrow evening and to basketball games on Sunday. emoticon

Friends, do me a favor, please: reach those arms of yours around yourself just as far as they will go and give yourself a hug and pat on the back!! That's for being there for yourself and others!! Love and hugs, Jeannie emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

We will be doing our Thanksgiving the Sunday after my daughter is working Thanksgiving day. She is a private caretaker.

Lou keep on stepping it wasn't that long ago I struggled to get 2000 steps. I am slowly working my way up. My daily goal is 3300 steps getting ready to up it to 3400 next week.
Hope everyone has a fantastic Friday. emoticon

TGIF everyone. Loving these Fridays. It's almost here - good ole turkey day.

Nice weather today. It's sunny and chilly. I call that perfect. Not cold. Not hot. I want to walk Jasmine tonight. I love doing it after dark. It's an 'adventure' then.

Have a wonderful weekend.

I pray for good health, less pain and prosperity for my Sparkies!

I read that pineapple juice is great for coughs. I hope that I miss illness this week as I become terrified that I will catch something that will effect my breathing. I am late getting my flu shot but needed to wait until the other issues were settled. I will go in a couple of weeks to get one.
I am enjoying my chair marching so I am planning to continue it although I have not put as much effort in this week and even forgetting to wear my fitbit one day! I am thrilled with the days that I have 5000 steps emoticon

In just one week we'll be eating emoticon emoticon . Sounds good to me.

Lou, so sorry about your struggles. The yo-yo has hit many of us recently. We just have to keep plugging along. For myself, I don't know why I ever give in to poor eating. I don't 'feel right' when I do that. I feel bloated, lethargic, out of sorts, cranky and I don't feel good about myself. So let's get together and get through the holidays and work on getting healthier, feeling better. OK?

Jackie, maybe Mike found the right combination to help himself. Who knows. I drink hot tea when I start coughing. It definitely helps. Love green tea/ginger & lemon. Eases my throat. Feel better.

I have a lot of work facing me right now. So I've got to get busy.

Good morning all ... forecast here calls for 8" of snow this weekend. Sure wish the weather pattern would hold off til after the Thanksgiving travels.

Mike came home from the drug store with his own make-up of cough medicine, antihistimine, etc. Still won't call the doctor ... and it's not like it used to be. No personal relationship with Doctors, they wouldn't listen to me other than to say bring him in and that's not going to work. He's actually coughing less today .... so I hope something is working.

I started coughing and sneezing yesterday, but started drinking herbal tea and taking DayQuil right away which has helped me a lot. Of course I also take vitamins as well.

Lois - I've taken turmeric in a liquid form. It is said to alleviate inflammation, but it has not replaced my Tylenol. I will take it at nite to avoid another pill and it does help a little ti nabage the pain. I know some people say it really helps them.

Babs - love your picture! Oh, I can just picture Abby dancing! Oh, the feeling of rhythm and vibrations in the body!

Lou, sorry you are struggling ... I've been on and off the healthy wagon more times this year. Yet, I remember that contract I made with myself to choose to live a healthy lifestyle. So, I take it to the limit one more time.

Well, the phones have started ringing so I'd better get to work.

Take care, stay warm.

Wild & Wacky Wednesday to you my friends. One week from today it’s time to think about ‘Do I have everything I need for Thanksgiving?’ My oh my how this year has flown by.

Linda, just stopping in and letting us know you’re with us in spirit is great. So sorry you’re having so much pain. Prayers and hugs.

Lois, I have not tried Curamin. I’ve read about it. Might be worth a try.

Jeannie, I won’t buy a big bird either. I love the leftovers but I don’t want to be the only one chugging away at it. I’ll be thinking of your sister tomorrow, as well as you and your mom. Hopefully things will go on schedule and all will be well.

It’s so nice to have some sunshine today. We sure had a lot of rain! Wind too. The wind has even died down now.

Have a great Wednesday.

Good morning from rainy, gray and not-so-nice Iowa!! Tomorrow is supposed to be sunny and nicer. There's always something to look forward to, I guess! emoticon

Lois, you asked a good question, but I sure don't have any experience with any of those things. Maybe someone else will be able to help you. Good to see you, by the way!!

Linda, we're always happy when you stop by, too. You say you don't have anything to add, but we love hearing about your critter family and you provide support and friendship to all of us...that's incredibly important to everyone! Thanks for being you!!

Babs, since we'll be spending Thanksgiving with my Mom at her apartment and eating with her in the dining room, I don't have to worry about a menu this year. For sure, I would make what the kids will like and eat. I don't make big birds anymore. Found a fabulous turkey breast at Costco that is so much better and easier than anything I could make, so if I was going to do turkey, that's what it would be. LOL!

Jackie, sure hope Mike turns the corner soon and begins to get well. It's too early in the season for respiratory things to get him down. Poor Nella...glad she seems better. And, good for you for getting to SA. We do need those kinds of things to lift our spirits!!

Trese...the beach? How fun. I'm assuming (probably incorrectly) that it isn't warm enough for swimming. There's nothing like sunrise/sunsets at the beach. Enjoy your time away!!

The surgery is still on for my sister tomorrow. Mom called yesterday to tell me that Marilyn (sis) had been admitted to the hospital Monday afternoon. She had a high fever and vomiting. It is related to the gallbladder. She's feeling better and they have that all under control, but they'll keep her and proceed with the surgery. That makes it a little easier for me, actually, as I don't have to transport both Mom and Marilyn to the hospital tomorrow...just Mom. She insists on being there, so there we'll go!

Take care friends...hope your week is going well and that some of you who have been under the weather are feeling better and that everyone else is not getting under the weather in any way, shape or form!!! Love you all, Jeannie

There are so many people to acknowledge that I am just going to say I hope everything goes well for all of you. I have been reading posts, but have nothing really to add. I am still hurting. My leg/hip is giving me a rough time, but I decided not to try to have another shot and the meds make it kind of dangerous to live. Can't drive after taking it, etc. I am reading your posts daily but I have nothing in your area of conversations to add to. Hugs, Linda

Rain again. We went so long without rain and we’re getting it all at once. I hear rumors of snow by Saturday. Nothing major at all and it might be flurries - but it’s the ‘S’ word.

Time to think about Thanksgiving dinner and preparing a menu of some sort. Of course, I don’t really have to make a menu. I prepare what the kids like. I want something ‘different/new’ but I don’t know what yet.

I have posted pics from our sitting for the church directory. That beard of Joe’s!! I don’t remember the whole story, but there was a lot of ‘friendly battles’ at his work over the Cards vs the Cubs. That beard is part of the battle. He didn’t shave it until we lost.

It’s family watch week at dance class. Abby is ecstatic dancing. She just ‘fills me up’ when I see the smile on her face. I knew she’d enjoy it, but this goes way beyond that. Remarks from her teachers (tap/hip hop last night) both said she’s enthusiastic, very creative and a joy to teach. I’ll go on Thursday and watch ballet and jazz.

Jeannie, you definitely have an extremely busy week ahead of you. Glad you had such a good time with your friends. Good luck with your sister’s surgery and caring for your mom while that’s going on. Wow!

Trese, well now you’ve made us all jealous!! Seafood. Beaches. Lazy days. Wonderful. Enjoy.

Jackie, is there a way you can get word to Mike’s doctor about the meds? Goodness. I thought I was stubborn. Well, OK. I AM STUBBORN! Poor Mike, which also means Poor Jackie. Hugs and prayers for both of you. You and your SA - how wonderful that you have it in your life. It does bring you so much joy.

Time for me to get this horse and buggy show on the road.

Hello all ... thank you Jeannie for taking time to write such a good recap on our members. You & Babs are absolute GEMS as moderators and friends!

Jeannie - Nella has a double ear infection with some bacterial/body fungus (!). She is finally feeling better today. I pray her skin continues to heal and she gets rid of that infection soon. Yes, it's not been easy trying to get her wet. Do the best I can.

Mike not so good yet. I've been on him to tell the Dr. that the meds aren't really working yet. But he is too stubborn or not sick enough to listen to me yet.

I'm going to SA to nite - a bright spot in my week ... to sing and laugh.l..

Trese - your description sounds like something we all need! Thanks for the vibes.

Jeannie - hope your sister's surgery goes ok and that Mom isn't too fussy. If you get good at genealogy - I'll hire you! I tried several times, but don't have the patience, or knack for it.

Another warm day .... so happy for that. Be well ... have a happy day, Jackie

Babs, it's been the same here all day long. More rain coming our way tomorrow and Wednesday. It's typical for us at this time of year. It's one of the reasons it really isn't my favorite month!! emoticon

Well, did everyone think I got lost over the weekend? We sure had a nice time with friends on Friday. After lunch we went to Barb's house and visited some more (that's where we stayed the night, too). Just a nice break from our usual routine. On Saturday I went to the genealogy conference. That was really good...the presenter was excellent and I learned a lot about a specific database that I'm dying to subscribe to, but I just haven't sprung for it yet. Maybe if Santa is good to me, I can do it soon. LOL!

Nola, glad you were feeling better yesterday. Hope that has continued right into today!!

Mercy, Jackie...so sorry to hear about Mike's latest problems. Sure hope the medications are helping by now. It must be awfully discouraging for him, too. Maybe I missed what is wrong with Nella...why do you have to give her a bath every 2 days? That sounds like a big job...hope it is helping. Take care of you, too, please? You just got over some crud...don't need it again!!

CJ, I can tell you have been having lots of good family times! Good parties and celebrations and now the holidays are right around the corner! Enjoy your time together...nothing can replace those great family get-togethers!

Mary, now nice to see a post from you. Come back often and let us know how things are going for you!! We love meeting new friends! emoticon

Karen, what an amazing thing your DD is going to be doing with arranging all those flowers. I would be a nervous wreck if I had to do something like that. Well, I guess I wouldn't be, as I wouldn't be doing it! LOL...I am definitely not a creative or "crafty" kind of person, but it sure is nice that there are people who are. They make the world beautiful for the rest of us to enjoy!!

More busy days this week. Wed. I have a followup appointment from the endocrinologist who specializes in osteoporosis/osteopenia. Last year she said I was okay, but come back to have a dexascan this fall, so that's what I'll be doing! Thursday my sister is having gall bladder surgery, so i have to take her for that. Mom insists on coming along, which is just silly as she fusses and fidgets constantly, which in turn makes me antsy. But, she won't have it any other way. Friday afternoon I go to the museum for my monthly afternoon "job." If I'm not mistaken, there will be basketball games this weekend, too. We may go to some, but probably not all of them...after awhile I begin to get a little fidgety myself!! LOL!!

Well, my friends...I hope those of you who haven't stopped by to say hello recently will consider dropping us a note to let us know you're okay. Which reminds me, for those of you who knew Francie (was it Francie-n-Bella?? her page has been taken down for quite some time), I just heard that she passed away at the end of October. She had been in hospice since last Spring as a result of bone cancer. I don't have any info on family or others to communicate with, but I thought those of you who knew her would like to know.

Take care, everyone...keep your chin up, a smile on your face and a song in your heart!! Sending you all my love, Jeannie emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

What a gloomy Monday. It’s raining, grey, dark. It is officially ‘yucky.’

I have approx 4 ‘full weeks’ of work. The other weeks have holidays. I’m into ‘countdown’. January 1 is right around the corner!

CJ, what a wonderful picture!! Love your smile pretty lady. It’s great that you share birthdays. emoticon

Jackie, it’s so horrible that your household continues to get hit with bad luck. Poor Mike!! Pneumonia on top of all of his other health issues. Lots of prayers for you and yours. Glad you’re feeling better and Nella is better. So sorry. emoticon

Nola, happy to see that you are finally feeling better. This team has had bad luck in 2015. We need to join forces and see what we can do about 2016!!

What a happy looking crew, CJ. Thanks for sharing!

Update here... the Nella (our dog) is doing better, I just have to keep track of her meds AND give her a bath every 2 days.... not easy for me.

Now Mike has pneumonia ... went to doc Friday and came home with antibiotics, prednisone, prescription cough medicine and an inhaler. Today he sat at the breakfast table, so he is feeling a little better. Such a deep, rattly cough.

So far, I'm good ... the sunshine and warmer temps do lift my spirits!

Jeannie - hope you had a nice trip/lunch!

Babs - yes, Thanksgiving is just next week! As I said earlier, it will be low key. Christopher is going to stay at a hotel (too much sickness around here) on Sunday, then we will spend the day together on Monday. That will be good.

Nola, chair dancing,,. GOOD FOR YOU! I know I said it before, I need to find my mojo again.

Going to make some roast chicken and take care of everyone today.

Have a beautiful day all, Jackie

Thought I would send you some smiling faces for this beautiful weekend. My daughter had a BD party for her son-in-law, and daughter in law, married to two of her children and they are my grand son in law and grand daughter in law, and then for me an week early BD party. I love parties. Got to see a lot of my other GC and GGC too. emoticon

Fit & Fine Friday!! Beware. It's the 13th too.

CJ, if you can walk short trips that's great. I think it's wise to do it and be close to home. Goodness you will have a house full for Thanksgiving. It will be so much fun. Now there's something to be thankful for!

Jeannie, have fun on your trip/lunch with friends. Sounds like fun to me.

Dizzybritches (Love that name!), This definitely does take time. It takes time getting used to all of the different options, learning tools, teams, topics, so on and so forth. We're happy to have you with us. Take your time. You do what you can and take it one step at a time. It's what we all do as I see it. Good luck!!

Have a Fantastic Friday/weekend.

Good morning, Sparkers! I am still a bit "at sea" after 6 weeks here. It's a little bit hard to concentrate at times. I guess my brain is still trying to catch up to some new eating habits. I will try going for a walk today. It's pretty outside. Anyway, have a great day!

Good morning! Quick note...leaving soon to meet some friends for lunch (in Des Moines) and staying over for a genealogy workshop tomorrow, home tomorrow night. Whirlwind trip, but it will be fun to see everyone.

I'll get the Special Days posted up tomorrow evening when I get home...assuming I remember! Please don't fire me!!

Hugs and love from me to EVERYONE!! XOXO Jeannie

Good Morning my Spark Friends.

It sounds to me like a lot of us had high winds yesterday, we had a lot of grass fires fairly close to us. But today it has calmed down and the weather is sunny and in the 60's, So I am going to try walking around outside a few times today. Its not very far around my house and to the corner, if I do it 2 or 3 times for now maybe my knees won't give me much trouble. I have to start somewhere.

Jackie: I'm not sure whats going on at your house, but the dog getting sick to is just about enough. (YOU THINK) (grin). Better days must be coming. Hope you and Mike are feeling better.

I'm looking forward to Thankgiving, my Grandson and family are going to be here from Ohio, so that means I will get to see my little Corbin, he was my little preemy and now he's 3 1/2 years old and in pre-school. In fact 8 of my 10 GC and all 8 of my GGC and 4 of my 5 Children will ALL be here at Thanksgiving. Be right at about 30 of us for dinner. Some of the little ones won't be able to eat turkey. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon I can hardly wait, my 9th GGC will be there, only he can't be seen yet. He's due in March.
Got to Go for now. CJ from OK. emoticon emoticon emoticon
